Doing this is probably better than standing in a factory for 12 hours. At least doing this you have a little bit of personal freedom.

@@AntTurner it might be moving all day but at least your out an about and not stuck in a factory all day and nobody is breathing down your neck watching you. And if you need to you can take a second to grab your composure in a factory you can't at all until it's your break.
@AntTurner
@AntTurner 4 года назад
@@myfireburns22 It's true you have a little more freedom but you are constantly being tracked. Trucks have gps tracking and handhelds have tracking so they know how long you are at a stop. Also you have other elements that you have to deal with like customers with bad attitudes and trying to find places that you have to deliver to. Most warehouse have set times to get off but driving you never know when you're getting off. I'm a driver, the only reason choose driving over warehouses is because of the money.

D C I work for a linen company and the most stops I’ve had was 31 but I have to deliver napkins rags cleaning supplies mats and uniforms and still have to load up the dirty linen (which weighs a lot about 100 lbs per bag) and a stop can take up to 30 mins some take less but the biggest stops take about an hour I average 12-13 hour days a week of non stop heavy lifting work and I can say I’ve broken down with anxiety attacks at first where I’ve had to stop and catch a breath but after 6 months the stress doesn’t faze me as much I’ve gotten used to it lol

We don't have the time to stick around... There are time pickups, FedEx gets up out late and some of our trucks are far more packed then this truck. Sometimes I ring the bell and other times I am just running the whole damn route because I am not breaking route to make pickups because I didn't finish the deliveries in time! I run in Harrisburg and Middletown, PA. My last pick up is at Target at 4:30 and it normally takes an hour just to pick that up. They normally have anywhere from 200 to 300 packages which full the truck from top to bottom. For some of us it no fun at all but if you end up with the right contractor and they find you valuable you can get paid pretty decent. Peak Season is coming, fear warning it can be absolute hell for most of us!

I worked for FedEx ground as a truck driver pulling doubles and triples. it's too bad they sub contract everything out. the contractor I worked for paid fairly well but the trucks were very unsafe. I had my brakes suddenly stop working when I was leaving the gate while pulling a set of trailers. Trucks all had major issues and the owner never bothered to fix them. 5 of his 7 drivers all quit at the same time due to how bad things got with the equipment. Surprised FedEx is still allowed to contract stuff to be honest.
