I think Scott’s paranoia mimics Stark’s after the first Avengers. He’s now so concerned with his reality after discovering knowledge of a threat beyond his understanding.

To be fair Janet did seem really concerned about Scott going down there, she broke down exactly what to do and stay away from, she knew where he was going. To me she seemed nervous.

I just want to say how much I appreciate the way you embrace the suspension of belief and having fun in the movies while still pointing out the misses. I get frustrated when people rip movies apart and lose the magic of just going to a movie and being in the world. Sure, all movies will have plot holes and stumbles...the question is was the movie fun (or scary or thrilling, etc). ? You somehow manage to celebrate the big picture and also breakdown the details.

At the end was a SECOND time Kang could've escaped the Quantum Realm. Instead of blasting Scott before he entered the portal, he could've let Scott leave because his sphere was still there holding that portal open. I think that reinforces Kangs' penchant for anger and revenge. As smart as he is, his thought process falters when he's consumed with revenge.
@BaileyM666

If I remember rightly, Janet says that Scott and the others had never been that far down in the quantum realm before, which is what I assumed to be the reason why she wasnt as mad about sending Scott down for the healing particles

Was it kinda like the grandfather paradox? When hank rescued Janet the first time she has never heard of or seen Kang. Loki happens, timeline is shattered, all kang variants are then immediately alive like nothing happened, they banish the conqueror, and through the grandfather paradox Janet’s mind updates to say she did encounter the conqueror before she is rescued?

What if the reason the embiggened Scott "possibility" started to shred away is because the one trying to grow wasn't 100% Scott (willingly and physically) enough so the science of the suit didn't work and that's what would happen if Scott wasn't strong enough to be Ant-Man?

@wimcuypers29 Год назад
Hey Erik! Great breakdown! I think Janet didn't mind Scott entering the quantum realm at first because he didn't go deep enough to get to Kang's level. As we saw in the first and second ant-man film, Scott is getting smaller and smaller and thus continues into the quantum realm. But now she was panicked because Cassie really sent a signal down like an antenna from space. And that kang would catch this signal..

I saw it as Janet not being worried about just going to the quantum realm real quick, for her escape and to get healing particles, but it was the long-running open signal/radio frequency that freaked her out.

My theory, Janet was willing to send Scott down because it was a one device trip that they totally controlled who went down and when they came back. She didn't realize that there could be 2 way communication between dimensions with another device.
@kokosworldofficial

Yeahhhh and on top of that the only reason they were able to get pulled down there was because modok happened to be there! I don’t think Janet even knew about him to begin with too even speculate him being alive and in connection with Kang.

It’s possible that the enlarged Scott unravels because he is not in a permanent state. When he is enlarged it doesn’t last and he loses the ability to stay enlarged, thus that enlarged version ultimately ends. So it’s like when sylvie hides In catastrophic events ultimately that time line ends or unravels.

I personally think they opened the portal because of what cassie said about her device. She stated that it was like a two way signal. Send the signal to one place(quantum realm), gather its info, and then it comes back to the SOURCE (which is earth; cassie's subatomic telescope). When MODOK Intercepted the signal, he was able to figure out how to bring them there which is something we don't know how he did obviously, But Janet was able to track it back to its source which allowed her to find earth; specifically Cassie's device. Hence is how the portal opened back to that. Again, Don't know specifically how they did it. But it's the two way signal part for me. Just retracing the signal back to its source; that's how they got out.

I myself enjoyed the movie! To me it felt more of a Kang origin story than the end of the Ant-Man trilogy which I didn't mind at all. Can't want for the Loki season 2! I think you were spot on on the MODOK character, whatever they were trying to do with him felt very flat. But here is my theory, since Kang has seen it all, all characters, he'd obviously seen MODOK and copied the character to Darren Cross... I hope we still get to see the actual character in our main universe some day...

One of the issues I had with this movie was the "time" continuity error/plot hole (although, maybe it was intentional). His whole relationship with Cassie and Hope in this movie was as if he had only been back for a few days. He didn't know about her suit or her secret quantum studies or her regular arrests (that most recent being for tent cities for the recently unblipped); it very much felt like they were both still feeling each other out. But Scott had enough time to write a book, record an audiobook version, have his suit upgraded and build rapport with the Coffee shop guy. Skipping the fact that Cassie went from a small child to a nearly-adult woman with a combat suit and some amount of "superhero training", this move is really hard to follow chronologically.

Thanks for this in-depth look. I'm amazed at how much was actually in the trailers, and how you picked it all out and sequenced it. Impressive...most impressive. I got the vibe that this Kang was a much much younger version of He Who Remains. The image of the sacred timeline and the idea of pruning that you also mentioned are all here, just in an earlier version. HWR says that one Kang defeated all the others, and that fear seems to be why the rest of them exiled him, but clearly at some point he escaped and founded the TVA. It's even possible that this "loss" is what brought Kang to create the TVA in the first place, after he viewed all the possibilities and came up with the idea of making his workforce out of all kinds of variants. Maybe it's easier to move them through personal portals rather than have a whole army-sized one. Also clipping the whole timeline is easier than war. I just re-read Avengers Forever as well, and highly recommend it to anyone who likes Kang. It's a definitive story that explains so much and also resets the dynamic, particularly between him and Immortus. Well done!

Maybe I missed this information but why is time not being affected like it was for Scott when he got stuck there in the infinity saga? 5 years on Earth passed in 5 hours in the QR. They were down there for what, an entire day in Quantumania? Also, that was a great point about Janet being fine with it at the end of AM2 and then suddenly being very anti-everything QR.

You heard it first from me but happy if you guys use it: Kang gets sucked inside the core where he eventually reaches The Void. There he encounters Alioth and thus begins his journey of pruning all Kangs, one by one, and their respective timelines and finally creating a singularly existing multiverse as he visualises it to Janet. Eventually he goes on to become He Who Remains as he prunes/kills every other Kang and the branched timelines. The Citadel at the end of time is the very arena used by the Council of Kangs. And the 4th time keeper statue inside the citadel is none other than He Who Remains itself. Eventually The RamaTut, the futuristic Kang, Immortus and HWR Kang are the 4 leaders of council where HWR was probably the most powerful. Then the remaining 3 banish HWR Kang and destroy his statue. The Kang in Quantumania is the one that becomes HWR. Mark my words everyone!!!!

Kang is a time keeper and he must fix his time-line by challenging and winning against other kangs in his original time-line. He is the only one who cares about this job. The other originals just want to be GOD even over the variant Kangs within there universe.

Not to mention she knew what they were doing exactly in Ant-Man and the wasp. She wasn't surprised by what they were doing in this movie so she reacted negatively to the surprise

I really hope that they introduce Iron Lad in the post credits scene of Loki season 2, and then officially announce Young Avengers after that

My theory is that Scott and Home return to a alternate timeline and that the original one would stay left. The audience is led to leave. The tasking brought them back, but you never saw them step through the portal. Never saw him come back on the other side.

Love these breakdown. Feel like I'm in a Marvel classroom learning about something I'm actually interested and having it connected to real life somehow ❤😊

I absolutely loved MODOK. He has always been a ridiculous character so this was a perfect translation. I really enjoyed the scenes he was in. I do agree that they should have spent more time with Kang, they probably should have given MODOKs scenes to Kang. But for what it was, Modok was fun.

I LOVE that Hank refers to the ants having a Level 2 society. He's a scientist. He'd use the correct terms, not the bullshit "first world" or "undeveloped country" labels!

Hey Eric, just wanted to say thank you so much for breaking videos like this down on this channel and new rockstars. It is interesting that you broke down how you and the team go through all the trailers to give us all the Easter eggs because funny enough I was actually thinking the other day how much work your channel and all of the other channels that do breakdown for shows,movies and comic books to give us fans the info that we need hope the channel blows up as much as new rockstar and once again thank you and the team for all the hard work you’ve done over the years.

anyone else notice kang essentially does the same move to defeat the xolum, that shang chi did to defeat his father?

This was great! Learnt so much about the process and also felt a lot more level headed than the videos on the main channel.

lots of people know who spider-man is, as in they know he exists,... it is the Peter Parker persona that has no existence, since no one remembers him. Remember The last scene of No Way Home, Hogan sees Peter, and asks him how he knew May,.. and he says " Through Spider-man."

Maybe Janet knows a way in there without alerting kang, whereas Cassie was just sending reckless signals into the quantum realm and knew kang would pick it up
