One thing I’ve come to notice with Fantano is that because he listens to so much music, if it ain’t some weird, whacked out, never heard before sound, he doesn’t tend to appreciate it as much as most listeners do because it’s not ‘different’ or ‘new’. It’s almost like he struggles to appreciate more recognisable styles/sounds when they’re done really well. ESPECIALLY low-key music, because it’s not as up-tempo and exciting. I might be wrong because I don’t watch all of his reactions, but when did a low-key project get a really good score from Fantano? I bet you’d struggle to find one.
I absolutely HATE it when a reviewer can’t appreciate a well written song for what it is. How’re you listening to songs full of great melodies, great atmosphere and a strong mood, and you can’t point that out… but you like a song like From the Garden which just has a loud subwoofer bass with two notes and a repetitive ass hook?? Like, I almost feel like we don’t value the same things in music sometimes
@@Confessionsovergin Exactly, for someone who is so big on production, I don’t get how Fantano doesn’t see that from the garden is one of the weakest, if not the weakest, track on the album. Yes it’s just his opinion but when you look at the reception this album is getting from fans and other artists. For someone to come along and half ass a review in the way he did and oppose pretty much everyone else, your opinion isn’t credible.
That happens to me as well, when you expand to every genre out there it kind of ruins the ability to enjoy. It does improve your hearing recognition ability a lot tho but yeah you start to loose that surprise feeling in music in general

"this albums amazing" or "this album is ass". Truthfully the album is neither, it's just underwhelming. It can be "vibey" sure just like how some songs on the new Doja Cat are "vibey". But when the whole album is either "vibes" or "CAME OUT BUSSIN" for the whole duration you start to see how little variation there is on this album. Even compare to his past works this is nowhere near as ambitious. This is an album of music Isaiah probably just made while chilling with a couple homies, nothing else.
