ANTM British Invasion Episode 2: MAKEOVERS recap by Annaliese 

I always hated how Sophie's hair didn't constantly stay pink throughout the cycle !! 😤

I can't believe Louise was bothered by the cut, and by the prospect of going dark, but not by the chunky mall-highlights they ended up giving her.

No boring moment as always. Her energy and beauty is mesmerizing.

Really love this cycle. One of the most memorable cycles.

They totally gave Louise the “Can I see your manager?” haircut. AKA: The Karen. The pigtails make Eboni look like Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes of TLC when they first came on the scene back in the early 90s. If she threw on a pair of oversized overalls, she’d be dead on. The red, white, and blue hair was 2/3 of the way awful. The platinum blonde - fine. But those awful, chunky dyed pieces with the red and blue just ruined it. There’s nothing practical or cutting edge about it. Who would go into a go-see like that? And how do you justify it?

I loved Louise! Although she rocked that hair cut I really do think it aged her so much. I don’t think there was much need to even change her hair at all!

honestly the fact that Loiuse had one of tackiest makeovers but she made it sell like a hot cakes.....a true model and queen right here

I love that you gave so much commentary on this one! You have such a fun personality. And I agree, I wasn't digging the way they styled that weave in your makeover shot. It was a hidden blessing that your lymph nodes acted up because then you were able to rock your natural beautiful hair for the rest of the competition. Have you thought about doing a zoom reunion with the British girls? Could be a lot of fun, though it would take some work getting everyone together =)

Your strategies towards the makeovers is so on point! It's something I always thought about (for no reason haha) and I'm so pleased to hear someone talk about it and share that that's what they did too! Production for this show is so so cruel. Idk if you recall Brooke cycle 7 "tonight during panel is my high school grad" of course she nailed her own coffin with that :(

Louise should've let them dye her hair dark tbh, it's the only thing that could've saved the Karen hairstyle somewhat (plus, I genuinely think a darker colour would look really good on her, more mature and professional)

OMG I remember your videos every week after each episode from this cycle aired in the States, and your thoughts about them. DAAAAMN, this was so long ago now! BTW, I loved Laura's makeover (a minority opinion). Though looking back on it now, she would've totally got away with just light blonde. And I totally forgot about Alisha's one liners LOL

Catherine got so much praise during her BNTM season about her photos and walk and was so underrated on ANTM despite making it pretty far. What do you think was the disconnect?

Mr Jay spoke about this on the jay's chat for cycle 9, that they usually would give a wig with the extreme style so the models hair would be unaffected... I liked yours, one of a few who got a African or Afro Brit/American style that is relatable. I agree they needed to tease the F out of it. They could have given you a dark Navy blue rinse ala the flag in the black to give more drama.

I enjoyed this video, though I think either your sound should be higher or the sound of the clip should be a little lower as I had a difficult time understanding you when you talked over the ANTM clip.

Can someone explain to me why the "before" photos nearly always have the girls' hair pulled back? Isn't the whole point of the before/after shot to compare the styles and see what was changed?

What british season were you on? I'd really like to watch more BNTM... it's so much more real and you guys get a long so much better! I watched the seasons where Ivy and Tiff won but Idk any other seasons!

Did the producers ever explain why they touched up Catherine’s pink makeover but only touched up Sophie’s for the finale and she ended up only having pink hair for like a week? And did Catherine really have to cut all of her hair off afterwards because of how damaged it was due to the constant coloring? I’ve seen that rumor floating around! They did Eboni so dirty. She looked like a new model before and then they took away any versatility with the “30 never” brand (which was so dumb because she was 18, of course she’d look young!) I’d love to see you chat with her about her experience on the show. She seemed to really have a tough time

Like most viewers I always wondered what they might have done to my hair in that situation! It is super long, down to my butt... so I assume it would allllllll get snipped off. I think your plan of keeping quiet was probably a good one haha.

Nothing about Louise's cut was blunt, contemporary or modern. That particular cut with how short it is ages the absolute hell out of people. It would have looked more modern if they had left it longer.
