There is a settings for Dynamic Range in sound, that would help with loud spiking sounds.

Actually the siege sounds feels nice. Feels way more impactful and cinematic.

Gotta say the way that trebuchets fire and their arm swings back and forth is really satisfying. Also I like the firing/impact sound of the bombard cannon. Apart from maybe being too up and down in terms of volume sometimes they absolutely nailed the sound design in aoe4 which I think adds a lot to an immersive experience

5:18 Normally, you shouldn't afford more than what you already built *(2 Trebuchet* and *1 Bombard* or the equivalent of that which counts as *1825 Wood* 🌲 and *1100 Gold* 💰) But as we can see here 4:43 you unintentionally exploited/glitched the game at the beginning while the game is still figuring out how much resources you should have. Thank you for revealing that to us Viper. I was too so confused when you were able to squeeze an extra Bombard, so I took it on myself to find out how that happened. Here's how this exploit works: In this very very early moment you can mass produce a type of unit, then immediately cancel their production. The resources of those canceled units will then be an extra over the intended original resources. After my 3rd attempt, I found this video to see how it should be approached. This is my first week playing and new to the genre

The other 4 missions I beat on first try (silver for the first two and bronze for the other two). This one is a massive pain, but I made Springalds because the units give me trouble. I'll try busting the towers next to the gate before going in, that's probably my mistake..

Siege sound an Impact of projectiles, I love it!

The trick to this one was just realizing trebs can destroy the other two landmarks from the gate.

To be honest siege weapons in real life are also very noisy, especialy gunpowder. But from a game perspective yeah there should be an audio slider to adjust it, i can see it being anoying (DING DING FLASHBACKS) in the middle of a fight

I can't be the only one whose OCD is triggered by the "victory" text not centered in the banner

yo viper, there's an ingame setting to compress the differences in loudness.

The siege tower mecanic looks so epic. Did you get to try it in a real game ?

I wonder if you can just drop a small section of a stone on the map fairly early in the game. not to block a chokepoint but just to put archers there (especially as british) to make them invulnerable to cavalry and give them extra range. maybe as a cheap alternativ to a keep

If you surrender nobody is counting that as a silver. It isn’t even a bronze. A lot of people work hard in different areas of their life for a damn silver.

Didnt buy the game yet but I hope theres a setting to clear some unecessary effects.. like the gold effect when you click to move a unit, the gold dudes appearing around a construction, the ruins of previous buildings, the farms baked into the terrain that are not your own farms.. a lot of stuff that just distract and confuse me when I quickly look at the situation. I played the beta, hope to buy the game soon.

Definitely a great investment by Microsoft on getting Viper to show his sizable audience how ugly this game looks. The worst part of it is that the content itself is quite good, Viper makes for a great host, but that doesn't change that the game looks like a Chinese knock-off mobile game.

3D is definitely unnecessary in AOE. Studio should better bring content to AOE 2 Definitive Edition, the original.
