they are "demonstrating" they are simply escalating their complains since for years doing it the "legal" way yielded no results. The logic of "now they ahve to allocate resources to Apex instead of TF" is a flawed one. They were not allocating or planning to allocate resources to TF anyway. This way at least they create a bit of commotion and bring some attention to the situation. Hacking is illegal, and so should be selling a broken game with zero intention of fixing it.

Hacking is the only "viable" way to do any form of protest to game companies behaving badly. The only other option that would make them shovel away enough money from their driveway to be able to open their door and take notice is if you can somehow rally millions of players to withold their cash until positive changes are made, but as lootboxes and P2W games have shown, that's realistically impossible to ever achieve.

If you are part of a pension fund that is investing in these stocks then potentially you can push for change. If these funds pull their money out then private investment companies will replace them. These private companies tend to be much more agressive towards the boardroom.

Of course its acceptable to pivot to extremes in extreme circumstances. When in history was it deemed not acceptable? When the founding fathers of the U.S. rebelled against their homeland? Its not the same, sure, I know this, but the mentality is and this is a harmful mindset people seem to have going all the way to such dire circumstances. People will condemn those literally being socially and politically oppressed for rising up and taking it to extremes... even when its literally their only option. The mentality needs to end, the assholes in charge (video games or not) need to do something before it gets to that point. Otherwise, yes, it is justified as far as I am concerned.

Sounds like EA & Respawn were aware of the Titanfalls' issues & neglected a fix for it since it's no longer a cash-cow & don't mind selling it anyways even if it's broken. So whomever(s) decided to use whatever exploit that was breaking the Titanfalls & spread the luv to Apex. This was probably possible because a similar version of the matchmaking coding from Titanfalls' was probably used in Apex too hence a similar exploit. Would I condone the hacking? Probably not, but a slow golf clap to the ones doing it & their reasons.

The problem is EA and Respawn are still selling this game as if it isn't completely broken. It needs to be removed from all stores until fixed. How this isn't lines for a lawsuit for selling a false product, I don't know.

As someone who's really close with the tf1 communify I think was good hearted but pretty stupid, it did bring the issue into light but now we look like the bad guys. If only it was just a name change of the playlist.... Hopefully it's a wake up call for Respawn because Apex is just as vulerable as Titanfall, this hack coud've been so much worse if the hacker wanted it.

@@MilkTankz apex is a legitimately great game, just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it a cash grab. Anthem was a cash grab, Apex is a game with strong mechanics and a high skill ceiling that hundreds of thousands of people play daily and has a huge community of people who are passionate about the game. Saying it’s a cash grab is just a ludicrously ignorant statement. I don’t even play FPS games but I’ve played enough apex with friends that do to know it’s a great game that was the result of a lot of hard work from passionate devs.

I'd just wish for a titanfall 3. Also, I'd not say its a perfect game. It'd be pretty easy to make it perfect though. Titan customisation a la titanfall 1, call of duty style weapon customisation, and add pilot customisation (so no you have a hook you look like x or y) and then, the piece the resistance.. Add an emote button.

I mean what ever gets to the developers. It’s ok for developers to keep charging full price for games that aren’t going to offer full service for. Black Ops2 is still full price yet you cannot find a multiplayer game on pc, hackers have riddled the game to the point where it’s unplayable.

The hard thing is that while the collateral sucks and I wouldn't condone hacking as the first option, the fact that people who've sunk between $60 and $200 have been begging to be prioritized on the same level as the players who haven't paid a dime for years kinda makes this somewhat necessary after all of the polite options have been attempted short of a literal class action suit. Respawn clearly wasn't going to listen until their wallet is effected, and Apex is the only thing they seem to care about from a financial perspective

It's essentially just the same tactics as a strike or protest in a city/country. If bus drivers strike it inconveniences commuters but doesn't hurt anyone while putting pressure to their negotiations. A day of inconvenience might give Apex players some insight into Titanfall players daily experience

Asking for compensation (in apex) isn't too far fetched. It might be a free game to start with but lots of people buy many things in it as they enjoy the experience and happy to throw some money on it. If the game is not working, their investment doesn't worth anything.

Every hacking is wrong and childish. This is not how things should be done. A lot of the devs were about to spend their holiday with their loved ones, but had to go back to work because of this. Respawn already addressed the Titanfall situation and they try to fix it, but it's not easy and being an entitled hacker and ruining another game for thousands of players is just disgusting and not the right way.

The moment you take that game off your store page for purchase is the moment you can shut those servers down. In general, yes hacking is bad. In this specific case, I think they're justified. EA is selling a product that doesn't work and has ignored it for years. Two wrongs may not make a right, but when a big company just ignores stuff like that for years when people have been asking for them to fix it and they just ignore that, then this is the kind of stuff that happens. They only have themselves to blame for leaving things shitty in the first place. Nobody in their right mind is shedding a tear for EA, and as for the "collateral damage" of people who can't play Apex, while I agree that it sucks for them, at the same time it's hardly a big deal. It's a free game. They're not losing something they paid for. And on top of that, it's not like Apex is the only game in existence. People can go play any number of other f2p games in the meantime while this is sorted out.
