I am shocked at the Romanian elder's comments, saying that 1914 (amongst other dates) was a "worldly date" and has "nothing to do with Jehovah". What...are you kidding me? The message that is unique and central to Jehovah's Witnesses is that God's Kingdom has been reigning since 1914. Good heavens...they just commemorated 100 years of kingdom rule last year and produced a book called "God's Kingdom Rules". Actually, that elder is revealing his own "apostate thinking". How many rank and file JWs have been disfellowshipped for saying what he just said, ie. 1914 is a man-made date? Unbelievable ignorance.

Very brave man for exposing this footage. It was interesting to listen to them going around in circles trying convince themselves what they believe. As they aluded to, that apostates are on the internet, and so are they. They twisted their own words, and denied what is really happening in the organization. These elders, seem genuine, and honestly care, but are blind to the fact that yes there are people stepping forward to talk about abuse, but in their eyes it is all lies, because those ones are not in the organization anymore, so they must be lying. Thank you for sharing.

It is sad how these elders lack the ability to reason and analyze what you say. They also deflect from the real issue by going down the rabbit trail of whether you believe in God or not. An expert could make a transcript of this video and write a book on the danger of cult influence, or a book on how some people are incapable of using deductive reasoning. Great job! As a newly disassociated member, having documentation like this exposes the cult for what it is; no different from any other religion they try so hard to distance themselves from. As a former elder, trying to explain to someone what goes on behind closed doors is challenging because what the sheep/rank and file see outside of the elders room is not what these men actually are. They have a hard to imagining their "shepherds" acting or talking in such a way. You could't make this stuff up. This first episode shows all the classic and predictable actions by JW "appointed" men; double talk, deflecting of the facts, and minimizing of a persons conscience. I found the statement to you that "you need to make the truth your own", ridiculous given your theocratic career. Looking forward to the next episode. Not sure where you are at in your life Isaac, but we hope the best for you. There is life after the Witchtower. "Truth cannot be taught, it must be realized."

Wow, I am only 7 minutes into the video and already my heart is racing! It brings back the trauma of facing my own judicial committee. Although I have lost the relationship and support from my family and friends, severing my ties with the religion was the only decision I could live with. Thank you for your efforts to record your conversation with them and encourage others to start living their lives! It takes time, but it is so worth it!

Thanks for sharing your experience! I was also raised as a JW, pioneered right after high school and also went to Bethel for about 4-months. I had to leave, as it just wasn't for me. My older brother still serves there. I've been away from it for many, many years - about 20. My whole family are witnesses. I have empathy and respect for your struggle. Of all my family, my mom (a JW) is the only one who has been willing to communicate and support me. Even with religion aside, I have always believed in God. I can't rationally deny it. The universe goes on forever. All the varieties of beautiful life. The thing that's really been moving me towards going back is the unity and harmony. I felt alive as a JW and knew that I could go anywhere in the world and be embraced. That's what I miss the most. I also liked witnessing to people and helping them to see hope. Aside from going to some annual commemoration events, I've stayed away from KH's for a while, as I've feared what the brothers would say to me. Your video helped me. After almost 20-years away from it, I think I'm ready to have a similar discussion with them. I talk to Jehovah ever day, even when walking around. I want to draw close to him, but not particularly his organization. I still have some apprehension about that. But, considering the options, and respecting the imperfect nature of all, I think it may be my best choice going forward. I can hardly wait to hear part two! I have three thoughts...1) First they tell you that you have the floor, then they do all the talking lol; funny and typical; 2) They basically berate you for listening to second-hand information and not getting all the facts when you told them you were told by someone with first hand information; and 3) To them apostate = liar; any word of disagreement = liar; any disagreeable accusation = liar. You are a very brave man! At my JC I couldn't tell them how I was really feeling except that I wouldn't shun my daughter who is lesbian.

Congratulations on Isaac on having the courage to do this and get out of this evil cult. I was once a member of a cult as well and I know how depressing it can be. Even though you know you are doing the right thing, it sucks to know you are going to lose that many friends at once. It isn't so much the feeling that they no longer care about you, but that you care about them and they hate you for it. I could go on about how they are not really friends in the first place, which is partially true. The reality is that those people that now shun you are victims themselves. You want to help them see the truth and you want them to no longer be victims of the cult, but instead they hate you for doing the right thing. Be sure to keep yourself open in case any of them do wake up and want help coming out. If any ever do actually speak to you they are probably seeking help getting out themselves and need the most kindness they can receive.

great work Issac! these 3 elders have a dreadful knowledge of their own organisations basic doctrines,especially the Romanian idiot, later in the video you really hit them hard with the UN membership which they had no answer to and the child abuse scandals! I sat through 2 hearings on my JC on an identical charge and got found not guilty and like you was "turned in" by wife, friends and family, look forward to part II.

Its hard to believe cults like this still exist today given the proliferation of knowledge via the internet.

You are way brave. I was in a long term relationship with someone who was an ex JW. He grew up in it and was disfellowshipped too. He didn't have a trial like you (I didn't know how rare they were- you can tell the guys in the video have no idea what they're doing), but everything else you have mentioned is exactly what my ex went through. I felt like I was seeing everything my ex had told me about after watching this video. It's amazing how similar everything is even though we're in a different state than you (I think). You seem like a great guy. By educating the world about JW religion you are helping so many people (including naive non-JW's who think the religion is harmless). I tell everyone who asks about the awful things my ex experienced in the religion and the lifelong effects he struggles with. I hope you receive as much healing as possible. The world is slowly learning about the religion and I believe eventually everyone will know. But in the meantime, please know that there are those of us out there who are non-JW's who know how bad it is and who totally support you.

I love how the elders don't have answers for anything. They didn't even comment on the false end of the world theories that kept so many young JWs from preparing to have decent lives. Just changed the topic and tried to make their cult leadership look infallible.

If a person is accused of a horrible crime such as child molestation, rape, etc then the accused and accuser face THIS SAME "trial" system. It's broken, horrible, unfair, and many are hurt because of it. I learned a TON about JW from my old roommate.

The hypocrisy and pedophilia that is rampant in this religion is disgusting. The fact that JWs venture out and research what they've been groomed to know is a very natural and common thing. Much like higher education in universities, the professor gives a general explanation on a topic and some details, thereby leaving the extent of understanding solely up to the students whom crave to know more, expand their knowledge on said topic. The only way to further ones understanding is to ask questions, it's sad that because of this very natural and common idea, families are ripped apart and people are considered "apostates". Any religion that causes mothers/fathers to ostracize/disown their children is the devils work in practice. Sickening and disgusting!!!!

These elders have no clue. Straight up buffoonery. They don't even get what apostasy is. According to the scriptures, apostasy is bringing a teaching other than what the apostles taught about the Christ. It has nothing to do with not believing in the FDS or the Organization. If anything, the WTBTS are the ones teaching what is opposite of the scriptures as to who Jesus is.

If someone wanted me to join any organization whose leaders were called "The Watchtower" my flat feet would be running as fast as possible in the other direction!

This is brave of you. VERY brave. Having been raised in the "religion", this must be terribly jarring for you to say the least. My concern would be the chance of reparations for leaving the church. Smearing your name, and so on. Just know that others will support you if that happens and you choose to make it public.

From an ex elders school of thought……. If you are summoned to a committee meeting you are guilty of sin. This is just a formal meeting to play the Watchtower game.of getting rid of you before you alert the rest of the congregation to their shenanigans. There isn’t any help on the way, no one is going to rescue you, it’s just you and the lions in the arena. They will chew you up, spit you out, and then tell the other publishers what a horrible person you are!

I absolutely love when theists say, "I once believed in evolution." Great, that doesn't mean they understood the theory of evolution. I think what they're really saying is, "I just accepted evolution as fact without knowing anything about it, but I'm going to pretend I used to understand evolution the same way you do. That way, I can pretend I've already considered all your arguments before in the past when in reality these arguments you use have never crossed my mind."

Hey I watched your video a while back. It's hard watching people go through this emotional drama because I remember what I went through when I left in the late 1970's. God bless you and thanks for making this video. It's so good to see so many people tell their story. A few years ago when I started my apostate site it was like pulling teeth to get any EX JW to speak up. As a result, many JW's and non believers wrongly assumed what the Watchtower is doing is not such a big deal. There is power in numbers.

My family was torn apart by the Jehovah's Witness society. Your not alone in the depression and fear. That comes with leaving a cult, and being rejected by EVERYONE you grew up with. Just remember this. The Churches of the world are ALL run by MEN..My family learned a different way of things. Dust your feet off at their door, learn about Jesus, because he did die for you if you believe. Don't let this crumble your faith. There is a God, there is his son who died for us, and all you need is to believe...not to listen to any man, because until we're made perfect, we are all the same in sin...you are now aware of the running of politics and religiojn, so go Rogue and follow Christ on your own. He asks: "Do you believe that Jehovah exists"? What he is actually trying to say is that the JW monopolize God and, as usual, they monopolize "the truth", and out of the JW you cannot believe in God. How norrow-minded! I believe in God and I don't beleive in religions. I don't need fairy tales to believe in God. When I read about astronomy, Quantum physics, etc, I feel closer to a Supreme Being than reading all the absurdities you find in the Bible, the Quran, etc.... What proof do they have that Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moises, etc, ever existed? NONE. I could go on.....

I was raised in all of this as well. I so empathize with you. I am no longer in contact with my JW family. I'm so sorry for your experience.

I was brought up and raised as a JW when my parents started studying and got baptised in 1973, i was then 11 yrs old. I left the JW faith at 16 in 1978. Over the decades i have had a bit of a study on and off and read a publication. I have struggled to keep my integrity to the teachings of JWs because of the guilt i have endured from time to time. It is so difficult to follow the strict guidelines and regulations so i have reached the stage after listening to all these videos on RU-vid to withdraw and i have even told my elder friend here in Oldham to watch some of the videos i have posted from here. I have since listening to all these video recordings felt sick in my stomac and feeling somewhat confused with everything so i an stepping back as i hate feeling guilty or ashamed, well not no more.

Ive gotta say this video staggers me. DOnt worry about the dates ? Really ? This is what we were taught all through the meetings and book studies. And now when it doesnt suit them they say it doesnt matter. Also they just wont answer his questions. All it comes down to is Do you believe in Jehovah ? If he doesnt they can just cast him out. If he does then they can disfellowship him. How about just trying to answer the poor guys questions. Put his mind at ease. Maybe give him some spiritual guidance. But like they did in my case the hearing was already decided before I walked in the door. They have the game skunked. You cant question the beliefs. If you do your out. You cannot possibly win. Its heart wrenching. I know. I've gone through it. I cant even talk to my Elder father about these matter because I will then also be branded an apostate. My heart goes out to you Isaac. The creepiest part of my judicial committee meeting, to me, was the opening prayer. Having already known the whole story and how these things are handled, I knew that these meetings are NOT for the publishers' well being. Rather they are nothing more than the elders flexing their congregational muscle and seeking to spiritually spank the person.

You are never fully prepared for these thing. It always feels like a blindsiding. Their opening speech is always the elders patting themselves on the back, how beautiful their intentions are and they equate with God. The elders are fully possessed. It is a fixed trance. Nobody is ever ready for it. They are ready to cut you off at every turn. When facts are not favorable to them they shift to attitude.

"If you don't want to be part of the flock you need to let us know that". What!!! Why in God's name would you do that knowing that the result will be ostracism by your JW friends and family, unless you actually wanted them to never speak to you ever again? Do these men have brains? I don't think so! I had the same kind of things said to me..."We're not in the arm twisting business...Jehovah gave us free will", etc. Sure, you can leave, but you have no choice other than to sacrifice all your JW friends and family.

That is why I don't take another human's word or authority on any religion. No one knows for 100% certainty. When they do, it is what I call religious arrogance. It is important to do critical think for yourself. We know for sure that we have only one life. Live it to the fullest. Be true to yourself.

I am at the beginning of the video. My stomach is churning and I have unbidden tears appearing as my anxiety levels rise for you Isaac as you are getting out of the car. It brings to mind someone walking to their execution. I really hope this is going to work out for you and your loved ones.

Thank you, Eric for airing this, and Isaac for having the courage to record this hearing. Where does one begin? There is so much here on which I could comment. But, I think I'll focus on a couple of choice gems, to wit, the Society's dates, the circular reasoning employed by the committee and the "first question" of faith in "Jehovah". So, the Society's own dates are "worldly history"? What about all those associates of the Society who made certain decisions and took certain actions because of that "worldly history", "worldly history" which was expounded by no one but the Society? Within the last couple of days, Mike and Kim posted a video in which they read the item in the October 8, 1968, "Awake!" in which the Society states, in print, for all to see, that these dates represent "God's timetable". So, I suppose, God is now to be considered "worldly", eh, brothers? Incredible! In the lead-up to these dates the Society gives all "credit" to the Lord, but, just as soon as they fail, turns right around and blames the rank and file for accepting these same dates when, after all, it is not our place to know the "day and hour", "the times or seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction". (Matthew 24:36; Acts 1:7,NW) Now, within the committee arrangement, the Society has the audacity to claim that these dates originate from "worldly" sources. Granted, Russell concocted A.D. 1914 by measuring inner passages of the Great Pyramid of Giza, but he was still the Society's president, and was elected "pastor", not only at Allegheny, but in other ecclesias (now, "congregations"), some of which are still around today, including some which still consider the Society to be God's "channel of communication". And, what of the other dates, be they 607 B.C., A.D. 1874, 1915, 1918, 1919, 1920, 1925, 1975, etc.? Are not all of these dates based upon that of 1914, or at least connected therewith, according to the Society? But, now, according to a judicial committee in Naples, Florida, each one of these dates is "worldly history", about which we are instructed to "forget". This is a tacit admission that the Society has been lying for well over a century! This bring us to the committee's circular reasoning. The committee will go through the motions of engaging in a "back and forth" discussion with an "offender", and will even feign agreement with the points he raises, but, in reality, the servants are saying the same things they said earlier, only in different ways, employing logical fallacies to back up their statements, to wit: "If this is true, then that is also true. If, in turn, that is true, then such-and-such is the case. And if such-and-such is the case, then it proves that this (the original statement) is true." According to the committee, everything vindicates the Society; consequently, there is no need to ever question the Society, because if one does find reason to question the Society he is an apostate and must be dealt with by the committee. All of this leads, as I believe it really should, to the "first question" of one's faith in "Jehovah": "Do you believe in Jehovah?" In my own case, I would have to say that if the question were, "Do you believe in Jehovah as He is presented in Scripture?", the answer is: "Absolutely, yes!" If, on the other hand, the question is, "Do you believe in Jehovah as He is presented by the Society?", the answer, of necessity, would be: "No." And here we come to the crux of the matter. The Society presents a warped view of God, which runs completely contrary to Scripture. The Bible says He is "merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loving-kindness and truth", the Society paints Him cruel and unjust, lacking grace. (Exodus 34:7,NW 1953 edition)The Bible says He is a Father, who "shows mercy to his sons", the Society does not want the vast majority of Jehovah's witnesses to see Him as their Father. (Psalm 103:13,NW) The Bible says that the Lord removes our transgression "as far as the east is from the west", the Society says that He must punish trangressors as though they are unrepentant, "mentally diseased" apostates. (Psalm 103:12) The Bible says that He is Love, the Society says: "Jehovah is supreme, the Most High, and absolute Dictator over his organization." (1 John 4:8,16; contrast "The Watchtower", August 15, 1932, study article "Jehovah's Organization" Part One, page 243, paragraph 1.) The list could go on and on, but the above will suffice. Interestingly, though, the Society's portrayal of "Jehovah" could easily describe the Society itself, to wit, lacking grace, not wanting its followers to claim the Fatherhood of God, a desire to punish trangressors as though they are apostates and seeking to establish a dictatorship over Jehovah's witnesses. Thus, one is left to conclude, in such a state, that the Society is "Jehovah". And, if this is all to which one has been exposed in his lifetime, as appears to be the case with Isaac, when he realizes that the Society has only ever lied to him, his faith is, regrettably, though not surprisingly, shaken to the core. In such an event, it is no wonder that one would be "invited", or as Isaac so aptly put it, "summoned", to appear before the committee. Again, thank you both, brothers, for this informative video. Hi Isaac my brother. I congratulate you on leaving WT! I left WT officially last week. They have put themselves up as God's Spiritual Mouthpiece. In doing so, they have the lives of millions of trusting people in their hands. So it is more than understandable, that sadly, many innocent hearts will be broken. I can imagine what it's like to have a mental breakdown, as I was close to having one 9 years ago whilst I was pregnant. This was due to my unloving and unsupportive husband at the time.You have had so many daggers thrown at you recently, all at one time my luv.I consider you a MOST courageous person and I do respect all you have said and your opinions, due to what you've experienced. When I saw and listened to your 1st ever JW Struggle videos with Eric last year, I could tell that your heart was with God. You love people and care deeply about their welfare. Isaac, I cannot believe for a moment that your values have changed. As a child, I remember my dad stating that there were some EVIL things in the bible! Years later as I read the bible I could see what he meant. There is NOTHING as humans we wouldn't instinctively do in order to SAVE our child, or any child that is about to be taken away by an angry mob! As we know, if we leave a rotting apple in amongst a batch of good apples, in time, the good apples WILL, turn bad also. If God didn't step in but allowed the EVIL situations in the bible to develope....then can you imagine what that would mean? Love, peace and Justice would be no more and the devil would have TOTAL RULE! Isaac, when we have been through trials such as what you have and are still experiencing, we need time to heal....time out! Isaac, we cannot deny there is a creator when we see the beauty of what the universe contains. Hold on and ask God to reveal himself to you! I believe that if you, 'pour out, in any way you need to, your anger, in prayer to God...he will heal your pain'. Just as Job did in the bible when faced with many trials from the devil. I hope that you will some day pray for Jesus to RE-ENTER your heart and guide your life. EPH 3:17: 'THAT CHRIST MAY DWELL IN YOUR HEARTS BY FAITH;THAT YE, BEING ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN LOVE'. How are those dates worldly history when that's what you were teaching to be truth. I'm so sick of this religion. I'm sick of the lies and the abuse that this religion practice. It's criminal. Stay strong man! Man this religion is soooo TOXIC. I got accepted to 6 ivy league schools and this relgion made me feel like I was the worst person for going to college. Today, I have graduated from Wharton and have a career in management consulting. I have made new friends who accept me for who I am and love me not because some invisible idea of a God tells them to love me.

Of course at the time of my judicial committee I wasn’t brazen and still somewhat respectful of the process so it’s easier to say this now but when the elder says “Jehovah doesn’t force anyone to come to him/here/whatever” I would have liked to have said “ok, well then may I go now?” These guys are so smug, such a waste of time. Speaking as one who, much to my chagrin, was just as smug and deluded an elder at one time.
