The pain of appendicitis is probably its most infamous feature, but why does it move from around the belly button to the lower right quadrant of the abdomen as the appendicitis worsens?
Here's an attempt to explain the anatomy behind it, and we'll also have to look at the anatomy of the appendix and other bits and bobs as we work our way in.

Hi Dr. Sam. I am going through this right now. My Primary care Surgeon because he did a physical examine on me and said it was a inguinal hernia because of the pain I was feeling so badly, a burning and throbbing feeling when I would sit or stand or walk for five or ten minutes , especially when I would lift my right leg to put on my pants. I went to see the surgeon & he also did a physical examination and said I had a inguinal hernia also, and that I would need Surgery but first I had to go get a CT Scan with contrast and I went to get one. After that he read the results to me and said I did not have a inguinal hernia, hw said I had a inflamed Artery and to go see my heart doctor because he went through my groin to put four stents in my heart. So I went to see him and he said that when he put the stents in my heart it was two years prior to this pain I am feeling now. S o I went and got another CT SCAN and same thing, My Artery was inflamed. So tomorrow I am going to see a Pain & Nerve Doctor to see what he has to say or guess at. But I am pretty 100% Sure it is what you just described on this Video that this is exactly what I am going through. Only when I lay down on my back with my legs Straight out, I feel relieved of pain. I will let the doctor know tomorrow about this Video and to check for this first. I will keep you updated with my progress.. thank you so much for this Video, Dr. Sam your absolutely a True Doctor that we should all follow you. :)

Hi Dr Sam thank you for your explanation. I actually just experienced Appendix pain over Easter weekend and had to have a Laparoscopic removal of said Appendix. In recovery day 3. I was feeling completely normal most of the day Friday, then later that afternoon into evening I started feeling uncomfortable pain in right lower abdomen. I wondered is this an Appendix issue? Pondered it but went to bed that evening..I could not sleep, tossing & turning. The next morning, I decided to go to ER. I was triaged in ER, when nurses pressed on my lower right abdomen I yelled out. She said: "Yep that's your Appendix!" They took me to have a Contrast Cat Scan. Then verify that my Appendix was looking large. A few hours later I was in surgery.

Anyone know if a lower abdominal ultrasound can detect Issues with the appendix? TIA Darryl

i am trying to understand my pain from last week, how i should have known it earlier (Voltaren Emugel cream, relief of local pain, was all i used): Laparoscopic Appendicectomy Findings Contained perforated appendix along right paracolic gutter Perforated at broad caecal base with small abscess - Contained Pelvis nil fluid

Allah (God) is one. is the only God. God is supreme. O Allah, you are the most merciful, the greatest, the most beautiful, the most forgiving. The only religion is Islam. God is one. Prophet Muhammad is the servant and messenger of Allah. The most beautiful, true and only religion in the world is Islam. Get to know your Creator. Taste the spiritual peace and happiness in Islam. Islam is the only religion that satisfies man's need for eternity. Research, learn, listen to the conversations of those who later became Muslims.
