Should’ve done a size comparison side by side. I own the iPad 12.9 with the m2 chip but I wanted to purchase that 24” 4k huion and the size would’ve been able to give me an idea of my overall work space that I prefer

Look.. If i wasn't left handed, i would definitely be doing CTRL + Z when drawing on paper 🤣🤣

You guys had summarized the Cons of workflow on Apple ipad tablet that i haven't noticed from others Ipad artists. The limitation & struggles to finish a more complex painting which required many layers. It would ended up frustration to merge layers smartly instead of creating art with less technical problems to deal with. Personally i tried to master Apple pencil on my Ipad mini 5. The Pen holding is not pleased especially for sweaty palm. And the pen touch is very different compared to drawing tablet. I don't really find the joy to produce artwork over 30mins on Ipad mini 5 at all. So, i was thinking maybe the smaller screen had caused the fun of it. I should opt for a bigger Ipad Tablet like the Pro artist, 12" Ipad tablet. And you guys mentioned the limitation of layers again even on Ipad Pro which instantly make me should stop putting hopes on bigger Ipad screen drawing experience would magically fixed that. Btw, i am using Huion Kamvas 22 Plus for a year plus. It's one of the satisfy purchase for digital drawing. Eventually i am more excited into Line drawing / Comic style after since i got Pen Monitor Tablet. It was a tedious and exhausted process to complete a fine looking line art with normal drawing tablet. One thing still bothering me is the Color accuracy on my Kamvas 22 Plus. Constantly needed to look at Primary monitor to check the color accuracy especially in the color range of "Bluish to Greenish". It is always OFF on my Kamvas 22 Plus.

Hi Dinodog Jr. The iPad mini 5 that you are using is very different than an iPad pro not only in the design but also the SOC ( CPU,GPU and Ram ).With a recent os update the iPad Pro M1 has been given special ram privileges. Apple allowed Procreate to have full use of the M1 SOC. The limited layer issue that we were having won’t happen any more with the new M1. The same if you were to get Clip Studio for iOS. Apple made getting the M1 iPad Pro worth it now. If you were going to upgrade to an iPad Pro, we would recommend the M1 12.9 or the 11. The 11 inch iPad pro has a screen that won’t give you any troubles. The 12.9 has and XDR led screen and has a blooming problem. You will have to get a new Apple pencil 2 as well. BIG TIP: The new M2 iPads will be coming out before the end of 2022 so if you can wait a bit buy the M1 iPad Pro refurbished from the Apple store. They are the same product with the same warranties. We have been buying that way for a few years now. We only had one problem with a battery not charging and was fixed by apple with no problem. Using an art glove might help you with sweaty palms. Also the Apple pencil is much more responsive on the iPad Pro than the iPad mini . Calibrating a screen for color is an eternal struggle. We feel your pain. We hope this helps you out. 😊

@@mosscharmly Waoh gratefully so much with tons of unspotted details from anywhere i had been reading on internet so far. The blooming issues on 12.9" screen, iOS update for Full M1 Chip performance, and Apple pencil have better experience on Ipad Pro. ( Is it the 120hz thing in this scenario?) I am thinking of a Big 12.9" Ipad Pro. I hope the blooming issue is solved with later manufactured. Is it affected on 2018 Pro till to the Latest Pro 12.9" ?

@@DinodogJr The screen blooming problem is only on the 12.9in M1 iPad Pro. It happens with very specific images on screen. (For Example: A white or bright object/symbol that is much smaller in proportion to a black or super dark background.) This is only effecting the iPad Pros with the XDR liquid retina display. It may be because the screen has an adaptive brightness feature that can get the brightness of pixels up to 1000 nits. I do know that the screen blooming issue is not happening on the MacBook Pro 14 and 16 that use the same screen tech. They must have changed something in the manufacturing process maybe? Then next gen iPad Pro may have better screens like the laptops. The iPad Pro 12.9in 2018 3rd gen / 2020 4th gen. Do not have the same screen as the 2021 5th gen. The 5th gen Has the XDR liquid retina screen. Some people that have the new 2021 iPad Pro M1 12.9 say that the blooming really isn’t that big of a deal in real word use. Basically they don’t even notice it at all. So for some the blooming is an issue and for others it is not. We hope this helps you out.😊

@@mosscharmly That’s very useful info. Screen technology is such a pain. The latest doesn’t comes with the greatest is confusing us as consumer. I will keep in my mind with XDR Liquid Retina display in any screen product for the blooming effect. I guess for those who notice the blooming effect probably they don’t work in dark environment. Since you have iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. Would you plan to do a video review how Apple Pencil compromise with actual drawing program in Mac OS? I guess it would interested some how real artist react to Apple Pencil in Mac OS drawing software.

Hi! Sorry, which pen is better in overall? Huion pen vs apple pencil 2
@mosscharmly
@mosscharmly 2 года назад
Hi burr. That's a great question. 👍 The Huion pen and the apple pencil 2 are such completely different devices. Speaking of them as two different artistic tools they really work and behave well with their own compatible devices. As an artistsic tool there is a lot to say about both, but it does come down to personal preference. We personally like using the Huion pen better. The Huion pen is lighter and has a smaller tip that makes it easier to sort of see where you're drawing. The Huion tablet with the pen really lets you let loose with your drawing style and doesn't fix/control your lines which gives you more of an actually drawing on paper feel. (We use Clip Studio so we can say this with this program.) This gives room to make happy art accidents on Clip Studio with the Huion tablet. ✍ There are some things about the apple pencil that make us prefer the Huion pen. The Apple pencil 2 doesn't work when it's not charged so you have to wait to use it sometimes. The apple pencil tips are extra and more expensive. The tip for drawing is pretty blunt and kind of rikindles the memory of being a little kid using a giant crayon. 🖍 The Apple pencil 2 is also heavier and a bit awkward to use. Hope this helps you and that we didn't bore you. 😊

just bought an huion after using an ipad for over a year... its quiet hard to get used to the pendisplay... i miss all the superb apple brushes (in procreate and OMG the apple note pencil brush and the new watercolor brush are just insanly good, you maybe know an similar alternative for photoshop?) and with my bellemond paper screenprotector the ipad make sooooooo much more fun than that display of the huion.. to be honest i thought it would be more like that with its surface... (sorry for my bad english) hope iu get used to it ... maybe you know a paperlikeish screenprotector for huion (24) :D??

Hello The Digital Alley. We do know some similar alternatives to Photoshop that you might like. We recommend 3 different programs. The first we would recommend is Krita which is a free art program with wonderful watercolor brushes to choose from and some really great inspirational artists who work with it, like David Revoy. We also recommend ClipStudioPaint which is a paid program. It has a great selection of brushes and is also very responsive. We mainly work on CSP. With ClipStudioPaint we would recommend you get Clip Studio Paint Pro because if you buy before March 2023 it will be updated for free. In the future if you feel limited by the Pro version you can upgrade at a reduced price. Our 3rd recommendation is a paid program called ArtRage. ArtRage has some wonderful brushes that can really depict/mimic real brushes. We honestly don’t have any recommendations on screen protectors for the Huion 24 only because we don’t use them, sorry. Maybe giving the felt tip nibs that come with the Huion a try. It may give you a different texture/pen to tablet feel you might be looking for. It is a very different experience going from iPad to Huion tablet. They are both so uniquely different. We’re honored that you asked us for recommendations. We hope this helps you out. 😊

Should i buy a ipad 9th gen or a huion 16 pro? Which one lasts longer?
@mosscharmly
@mosscharmly Год назад
Hello OsiZ. Without Question, the Huion will last longer. When it comes to buying an Ipad 9th gen, It may be the last year that apple will sell ipads that use the lightning port. USBc is definitely becoming the standard on ipads. We recommend getting a Huion tablet specifically. The HUION Kamvas Pro 13 2.5K is a good option if you want something like the ipad's size and portability. The Huion Kamvas Pro 16 2.5K is great if your looking for a larger screen. A 16 inch tablet monitor is the most preferred tablet size for a lot of professional artists. Potentially if it is taken care of, the Huion could last through many future pc iterations. We hope this helps you out and don't forget to have fun while you are making great art.
