I have a bmw series 2 coupe and it doesn't make me put the Google Maps navigator in the driver's display, do you have to dictate something or is it just for some models? I'm told “drive to the destination via active Apple car play” but it doesn't show it to me
When you press the maps button on The iDrive 8 when you’re in carplay is it supposed to open the maps on your phone (google or Apple Maps) or is it supposed to open bmw navigation. I can’t remember because for me I thought when I pressed maps it would go to my CarPlay like everything else but it opens bmw navigation I can’t remember
bizarrely it depends on what country you're in! Supposedly the main difference is that professional gives you the ability to do hands free driving up to 130km/h and since the US sucks, we don't get that. We get lane keeping in Pro but it ping pong pretty badly and you have to touch the wheel every 30 seconds.
here in germany the Driving assistant has Laneholding assistant with optional self steering (i always turned that crap off.) Speedlimit info: Shows the current speedlimit or other informations in your screen and you can "check" it so your cruise controll goes up/down. Same goes for speedlimit where u can set the current speedlimit (nice when you drive in a city) Professionell includes even more. Cruise controll with distance control Automatic driving (you have to put your hands on the wheel from time to time) Automatik start stop (even on traffic lights!) Augmented drive is only available on higher series like 7-series.
oh and because i said that i turned the lane holding off. Sometimes its steering without reason and sometimes it doesnt work. + When you drive on a smaller road and you want to make room...its just fking wont let you haha Keep it on vibration but i had it on idrive7...dont know how good it is now on 8 but i find out soon.
Maps can go in the gauge cluster but the audio tab is either in the gauge cluster or HUD. Seems like BMW could have done a better job with split screen modes on the infortainment w/ carplay though.
I kinda agree, i rly want the buttons back. But in a way the screen does look clean, but it would look way better to have the two screens separated because they have separate purposes
@@KitsCars will never happen..apple maps is dead bro. No where near the money and new ai features like googke and others in the works..and its android auto compatible now to aa compatible cars..apple maps is dead...
It’s a pity people are more concerned with stupid shit in cars like big screens and apple carplay , it’s a wonder more people don’t crash while looking at the bloody things .
Unfortunately Google maps shows on the main screen but does not replicate on the instrument cluster or HUD. Same with Waze. Was sad it was only Apple Maps. Not sure if Android Auto can do it
