@@floob247 the "au" at the end is a reference to the abbreviation for the continent of Australia, which is "AU" edit: In the name "Noriyaro" the "Aro" doesn't stand for anything in the english language. The abbreviation for Japan would be "JP". Edit 2: So apparently "Noriyaro" translates in English to "Ride Guy". TIL
would actually be pretty great watching noriyaro turn up to Nikko in a ute and see everyones reaction. betting its a nightmare importing an old australian car into japan though :(
Dude its crazy. I was never even aware of aussie specific cars until I started dating an aussie girl and going back and forth with her. First time I saw and heard an HSV Ute blew my mind.
It's nothing special, giant chrome wheels with low profile tyres on old muscle cars and burnout competitions where classic cars get destroyed. Ford falcons and the off road 4x4s are cool though
April fools or not, this was awesome! Something different, very different! It kinda got me imaginging the possiblity of Noriyaro expanding out and going to different countries to see different drifting circuits and cultures. Also, personally I think those Ford Falcon pickup's are really cool. I know that in Australia Ford and HSV have somewhat similar cars that seem to compete with each other. I know HSV have a pickup sport line of cars, the Maloo. I just know this due to Forza Horizon 3, which made those cars known and still carry over into the sequals. Either way, fantastic video, very cool insight into the drift culture over there!
Unfortunately the two brands no longer compete as Ford and Holden no longer manufacture in Australia. The rivalry was mainly from the v8 supercars series here, pretty much the same as having a favourite football team or whatever
Mainly motorsport. The road laws are pretty strict. You're not even allowed to ride a bicycle without a helmet on. Although blood/alcohol levels are relaxed abit.
the cheap part is no joke... stepped away from the japanese cars for domestics and i no longer have to rely on other people having left overs to be able to eat 😂
I know this is an Aprils Fools joke, but to be honest. The AUS drift scene looks quite interesting. It's something I don't see a lot of. So this is a pretty cool April Fools joke.
If youre going to import an australian car to japan it has to be something different like an old falcon or a holden statesman. Something which would be the last thing youd think of to drift. I have a HSV grange i use for drifting sometimes, i call it my drift limo and it is an absolute barrel of laughs
I just remembered about your channel so I came to check it out and was really surprised that you just posted a video 2 hours ago saying you left Japan, I was fully ready for Aussie car scene videos but then I remembered the date. This really caught me off guard
Last weekend I was watching the exhibition drifting at the Adelaide Motorsports Festival. I had a brief thought like, "Man it would have been fun if they'd flown Alexi out, but he's probably not back in Australia very often." 🙃
3:30 so true alexi, the falcon is like our budget jzx100. I think keep it reet did a build where they fitted jzx100 taillights and bodykit to an AU falcon going to show the two cars really do attract the same crowd
Would love to see a Falcon doing some track days in Japan, i bet it would raise a few eyebrows. Could probably freight a 40ft container with a BA and enough wrecker parts to keep it running for 5 years for the same price as a quality hero car over here 😅
Would love to see you and the track owner, Luke Fink, getting around. He's a fantastic drifter here on RU-vid, should hit him up if you're still in town.
@@jacobhaussmann90 Lol those SOHC are running custom manifolds and porting just to solve the backpressure. DOHC will always outflow the SOHC. Mind you that 1200 hp Barra you're talking about also has a 4340 Crankshaft. And those are like $3k-$4k alone.
Love seeing grassroots drift stuff from anywhere! I really wish some of the small paved oval tracks that are struggling here in the US would do open drift days.
Okay this is cool didnt tough noriyari would make video like this, bcs i reallly freaking love sedang truck or whatever you call it in your country, my country didnt have this kind of car thats why i really like this and to go to AU sometimes
No way you were at archerfield BROOOOOOOOOO. I wish i was therem would be awesome to meet you, I have a video on my other channel of my first drifting experience there in my IS200
Driving a road registration car to a Thursday night session at Archerfield, doing tandems with the locals and still being able to drive home is like entering the thunder dome and making it out alive.
Gotta love the fact that alexi made this. I dont hate Australian car content however I still love Japanese car content. Sometimes I just feel like outsiders make the best japanese content.
