Arctic Cat ADAPT Clutch: First Impressions

Last Spring, I posted a video about the Team primary clutch that came on my 2021 Arctic Cat Riot. One of the options I presented was to replace that clutch with the new Arctic Cat ADAPT clutch.
I then posted a video showing how to take an "uncalibrated" ADAPT clutch and install it in my Riot. Today, I'll give you my first impressions.
This is my first ride of the 22-23 season. Prior to filming the video, I spent about 4 hours clearing the stretch of trail I used. A winter storm last week caused a lot of damage to the trees, and even after I opened up the trail there was a significant obstacle course during the video.
Still, it was a great day to be outside and fun to be snowmobiling this early in the season - normally, I try to ride between Christmas and New Years, and this year I was about two weeks early.
This is a fairly short video, discussing what I think of the new clutch and it gave me an excuse to ride for fun.

This basically helps me confirm my decision to upgrade my team on my 18’ XF as well. Same jerkiness you talk about happens on it too.

They call it an upgrade, and I would agree with that terminology. I still wonder about gearing, because the Riot has what I would consider "off trail" gears. But, that's something I'll think about for next summer. Assuming you have a better impact wrench than I have, you can swap out a clutch in less than 30 minutes outside. So, that makes a good in-season project.

I have a 22 riot that came with the adapt clutch so I cannot compare it to the old one but I still think that 20-25 mph is not a happy place for this machine. It's never been a problem and I figured it was just the nature of the beast. This is my first modern big bore machine though. I come from mostly riding 90s-early 00s short track 500-700cc machines so going to a 800 with a 146 track was a new thing to me.

I agree. The new clutch is definitely a lot better, but I think you’re right that it probably can’t go away completely. I’m pretty happy with the way it is right now. As soon as trail conditions are better, I look forward to letting it stretch its legs.

How often are you yanking your primary part to service it? I've been keeping mine cleaned but that is about it so far on my 19RR but I know I'll need to do more soon.
