Ardverikie Estate aka Glenbogle from Monarch of the Glen FTHVN 148 

Was there about 10 years ago. What a beautiful setting for a show I enjoyed each Sunday night, on PBS. I was a bit taken aback by the remoteness of “Glenbogle”; nevertheless, the whole area is absolutely beautiful!

My husband and I honeymooned here in December 2000. It was magical. Obviously pre MotG so we were soo surprised when the series started. Thank you for uploading this, it has made me smile ;0)

I happily discovered the series Monarch of the Glen on Netfilx and I was instantly hooked. I am of scottish heritage on my mother's side, Clan Johnstone. It is my fondest wish to visit Scotland some day and visiting Ardverikie Estate is on the top of my list now. Thank you for this video.

Never heard of it here in the States either but when it came on Netflix I gave it a try. I was so HOOKED lol. We got to know all those wonderful actors and the scenery is to die for. I know exactly what you mean about feeling like they are family. The show was so well written. It pulled you right into it regardless of your nationality.I'm Polish for crying out loud lol. My son in law is originally from Mexico City, so it's a small world. Maybe one day we'll get to the Highlands.:o)

If I ever get to Scotland from America, Ardverikie is first on my list, and spotting Nessie would be second lol. The natural beauty of the Highlands is mindboggling. You are certainly not short on castles and I would love to see them all. :o)

Coming from the States, closest airport is Edinburgh, but we flew into Glasgow. We rented a car. All you need is a valid drivers license and a credit card. Bring along a GPS with maps for the UK to make driving easier. We've never had any problem walking around the back roads, pastures and mountains of the Highlands. If you open a gate, close it! Respect "Private" signs when posted. Go and enjoy!!!

Thanks for the nice comment! The castle (actually a large home) is on the south side of Loch Laggen. It can be seen from the north side of the loch on the A86, about 1.5miles from the east end of the loch. Can't drive onto the estate unless staying there. You may be able to park in a nearby layby, and walk the 2.5miles to the house. But they prefer you stay away from the home itself.

I love scotland .Going next year for second time to once again climb ben nevis .Id like to know where abouts the castle is in monarch of the glen .So want to visit it .ive seen spean bridge and the church where the wedding was filmed .fabulous love scotland ;-)

what airport is closest to this estate. as well as what are the restrictions in walking around the highlands. is it difficult to rent a car from the states or do you recommend a taxi?
