Mentioned this on another site. Lived at Ardverikie for a year in the late 1940's, my mother worked there. 27 miles to school in Kingussie, estate wagon to Laggan village then bus the rest of the way. One day I was on a rock reading a western by Loch Laggan when Sir John Ramsden came up behind me. He said that there were lots of westerns in the library and I should see the butler and get him to take me in. The family also owned Muncaster castle in Northumberland and Bulstrode House near Gerrards Cross, built in the 1680's by the infamous Hanging Judge Jeffreys. I stayed at all three residences. For a servants kid I sure led a wonderful life. (while it lasted).
Hailey Spring thank you! yeah same here, absolutely loved monarch of the glen! So was great to go there and see it for real! Was a lovely day out, hope to get back again one day.
What a wonderful video, Victoria! :-D I'm of Irish descent and have always felt the pull of Ireland and Scotland all the days of my life. Spent many a happy summer visiting my multitudes of aunts, uncles and cousins in Dublin. I like to think of Ardverikie House as my "Dream House". Don't we all? lol It looks like you had a great day at Ardverikie Estate! :-D I look forward to seeing more of your vlogs! :-D
+Mary Clark hello thank you for watching and your lovely comment I also have Irish relations and would love to see Ireland one day, yes had a great day there such a breathtaking place to visit! 😊
You are *so* welcome, Victoria! :) Where in Ireland are your relations? Mine are in Dublin, but I've driven all over Ireland and absolutely loved it! :-D You would love Ireland. :) I wish I lived close to Ardverikie House. It's my dream house. I'll bet it was just beautiful the day you went to visit. :) I'd love to have my wedding there. :)
It was a garden open day so you couldn’t go inside the house, they open up their gardens with a another estate close by every year. If you didn’t like the video you didn’t have to watch 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I’m not 100 percent sure you can see inside the house you maybe able too if your staying in the lodge. Hope this helps, have a good day!
Hello, considering I had just started RU-vid and I’m not camera woman what do you really expect? It’s a fun family vlog of a day out I had with my family, yes it’s shaky I was in a car and filming of a rubbish point and shoot, maybe before commenting take things into consideration before you writes “dreadful comments”
Very nice, Victoria! I'm planning a trip to Ardverikie sometime this year, and it was very exciting to "drive up" past the gate house, and onto the property, and up to the house.
