So what you are saying Kevlar is that size doesn’t matter it’s about the motion of the ocean. Sure I’ve heard that before.

it's nice having a bigger raft to get extra container shelves, but it makes precise landing at islands really tricky -- i had many occasions where i had to start making my turns far away from the island just to make sure i'd avoid rocky outcrops or jagged beaches. i also had many occasions where i had to kill a shark just so i could drag my raft around in the water comfortably xD also want to share a tip (while i'm thinking of it) that can come in handy in a pinch -- keep a couple dead full size hogs, giant crabs, or sharks on islands with "hidden" rocky outcrops, the ones where the outcrop (or boat mast) is just under the water where you can't quite see it. i've had rafts with barrels get caught on these before and refuse to break loose, but ultimately got them free by putting large dead animal corpses on the opposite end of the raft, which will tip the caught end up out of the water enough to reposition the problem area.

I actually use a quite large raft, 4x7, but have it built in a delta configuration so that I have a "gang plank" on the front, it make island landing quite easy.

Are you able to build buildings and docks like that with just the in game resources or is that done with mods and making your own islands???

I wonder if you could make a giant raft as a base then use a smaller landing raft so you don't get stuck on the rocks not sure exactly how but I bet it could be done

Idk if you guys know, but in order to view the whole boat,I just go to the menu and switch to third person. It's pretty effective.
