Are NEW Daemons Coming to Darktide? 

The Traitor Curse is actually the Conflict Director going mad and spawning infinite Gunners and Ragers and silent backspawns of Crushers and Maulers.

Honestly im not upset that there isnt gonna be a genestealer cult, at least not yet. I like how the Moebian 6th are getting fleshed out and really i cant be mad after Wolfer dropped that bomb ass speech. I really wanna see more of what he does and his beef with Morrow.

I still have faith that genestealers are deep within atoma, and it would be inquisitor Grendel’s job to deal with them

I love that Chaos Undivided idea, it never occurred to me! The cult says "For Nurgle!" but the scabs say "For the sixth!" and none of their troops are specifically Nurgle flavoured. I could see other chaos cults being forced to break cover due to the plague and invasion then working with the 6th to seize other parts of Tertium. I do hope we see some Plaguebearers too though.

Enemy Psykers via a Tzeentch Cult would go so hard

I think I'm remember reading somewhere that Plaguebearer might already arrive on Atoma Prime. Since a horn skull that similar to it's head can be found in one of the map.

I propose that the demon hosts float slowly around portions of the map, the static position makes them boring and not that threatening. Having there voices get louder and them float towards a horde encounter would be intimidating

Hab Drayko has had a new strain go through it. Many of the objects you scan are...liquified corpses. That definitely sounds familiar.

We still might get genestealers in DLC later as a separate faction in second hive city. Dont loose hope! Edit: Love the mug and cats!

I'm hoping for possibly an alpha class Psyker that's running the show. Chaos space marines have been known to run with them. Maybe there is an artifact on Atoma that Abaddon is interested in and has sent reinforcements to facilitate. The Mobian 6th have "returned" from somewhere in which they were "redeemed", so maybe they were in service to the Black Legion and have proven worthy. It's cool to imagine the directions in which it could take.

I have gone back and watched through nearly all of your videos and have decided your channel will be how I introduce my sister and her husband and anybody else who's willing into 40k specifically for darktide. I’d personally love to see nurglings as the Darktide equivalent of loot rats. Carrying a big sack full of goodies for us to yoink

fun point about Carnival of Chaos, speaking of them they actually did get a minor appearance in Vermintide 2's Shadows over Bogenhafen DLC. You don't actually get to fight them, but there's a nod to them during the end of the first mission in that DLC. At the end of the first mission, while you're trying to escape after burning down a storehouse full of plagued food, there's green fireworks going off in the main city that you can see from a distance. It seems kind of strange that the fireworks would be going off while its clear that the town has been (rather subtly) overrun by NURGLITE MARAUDERS and skaven. They don't directly say it, and the Ubersreik 5 are nowhere near aware of what is happening and seem to think that its just the town being blissfully ignorant of what is transpiring, but I definitely think that it means that the Carnival of Chaos has indeed shown up in a Fatshark game before. Plus, it would make sense given the mission after seems to go into the main town, and its definitely clear there wasn't much fighting back done and the question of "how in blazes MARAUDERS of all things got into the town unseen" is still lingering in the air.

Just a thought: remember is Space Marine when cultists sometimes would explode into a demon? What if THAT starts happening? Just killing a horde when one of the 6th just exploded into a lesser daemon of Nurgle…

The cinematic was kickass. This shows how dangerous well trained traitor forces can be. Granted the Moebian 21st that we’re trying to hold the line aren’t the best, we can give them points for trying. While I’m not sure if we’ll see genestealer cultists, it’s possible we’ll meet another chaos cult and that could lead to infighting for control of the planet.

You have such a good sense of what footage to show to complement what you're talking about. To me this is the best emerging Darktide content channel. I heard a voice line from my body guard ogryn today, he said he heard a rumor somebodies (I didn't hear who's over the combat) brain had been replaced with a Necron brain! I'm sure it's 100% true.

I want to see a Harlequin in the circus, even if it doesn't make any real sense.

A shame it wasn't Genestealers but they may come some day. In the meantime, I suspect we'll be getting Plaguebearers, and based on the cranky voice in the last Wyrmwood transmit as well as the sound of the bell - a Poxbringer.

I am still pretty sure we're getting genestealers, in fact, I'm even more convinced because there's a genestealer rock grinder in the new map. Also I'm pretty sure the Wyrmwood we encountered is not the Wyrmwood we got in the other vox casts. I don't think they're the same voice actress AND all of the agents are called Wyrmwood agents. So sit tight, I am pretty sure they're on the way!

Amongst the graffiti in-game, we can see Skaven iconography (Vermintide reference), various Nurgle icons, but most importantly the Word Bearers icon. Word Bearers are chaos undivided aligned but work with Nurgle ALOT for the initial subjugation of a planet. Typically the first thing before a Word Bearers assault occurs is that they will infect the planet with Nurgley diseases to weaken the defenses as well as creating an initial army out of the populace of a planet.

Darktide doing these updates and getting this attention is much better than what people think the reason is darktide engine is super solid and optimized this gives the studio to mess around with more physics and more on screen characters like hordes mark my WORDS they WILL include a spacemarine at least via easter egg or playable dlc with space marine 2 coming out i called it early so excited for 40k right now dont even get me started on henry 😅

I'm not sure on Tyranids/Genesteslers being out of the question. Nurgle has no known stealth units in general. I think it's still possible she was hunted by a lictor or maybe a Genestesler Primus, (which is an assassin cultist that uses smell as well) but captured or killed by a Chaos enemy as she was far too focused on the hunt. It's not the first time Chaos has taken advantage of one's stresses and perils to take their soul, it's a staple move of them at times.

I did think it was weird so many creators were obsessed with the genestealer angle when there is soooooo much more to chaos and daemons. Given fatsharks choice of chaos and nurgle as their key protagonist, when set in a hive city, genestealer cults would have been the obvious choice… it also seemed obvious they probably wanted more choice in the basic framework of their villain choices.

Dont worry personally i think Genestealers are gonna be a thing in Darktide eventually, but most probably is that we are gonna have to wait for it theres just too much info about them inside game to ignore them. When i heard the last msg from Wyrmwood my mind went to a Chaos Sorcecer for his way of Speaking and the steps accompanied by a metalic sound that kinda reminded me a staff, gave me the Dawn of war chaos sorcecer vibes. so im pretty eager to see the second part of this event xD

So perhaps we were wrong on the Genestealers.. But there's another interesting potential that has far less dire consequences. Drukhari raiders. There's Xenos spotted in the hive, that much is obvious by now. But there's another vox line, between Zola and Masozi mentioning Masozi picking up an unwelcome tail during a drop. Specifically, the "Sky Reavers". Other than it being an animal (but the way is said makes it more or less sound like a group rather than an animal) there's also a group of Dark Eldar Corsairs with that same name. Perhaps its them? If anything having Drukhari around is far less world-ending than having a genestealer uprising bringing a hive fleet down on a pretty much defenseless world

Iirc in some of the voice lines somewhere pointed out that Wormwood is a rank for field agents. I could be wrong though.

I thought the traitor curse was their addiction to stims, as thats the objective of the new mission. This would be an interesting allegory with that carnival, portraying drugs as something that is fun but leads to ruin(ous powers)

Well don't if anyone else noticed but on one the maps I think the one with plague tree there is a skull with one eye socket and gnarled horn so the moebians may have been trying to summon plague bearers for awhile now

The Carnival really feels inspired from "The Cult Of Rakdos"

You know, it would be cool if they could make a contest for introducing a new hive fleet that would be responsible for a Genestealer Cult. This way they would be more unique from other cults, sort of how the Moebian 6th is not like other traitor bands. I had my own cult and hive fleet planned out! Sad how they kinda built up that Wyrmwood hunting arc for just more daemon stuff, though. Hopefully like you said, maybe they will get a bit of love after this expansion is over!

I like the way you are thinking. I figured we weren't getting a new faction without a paid for dlc. I like the daemons take as they have been noticably absent and could really open up gameplay. I was kinda sad when the Carnival of Chaos concept wasn't utilized more but Mordheim is a separate IP so GW makes developers pay a separate fee if they want to use material from that IP.

One thing i noticed about the new area is that near the end of it, before you get to thr area with the stimms, theres some corpses of the moebians that you did not kill; they were placed there deliberately. What killed them?

So after watching this video decided to go check out what Fatshark was saying, particularly in their 'carnival level design' dev-blog. And got to say I'm getting some serious Khornate vibes. From the sinister red glow seen in a number of screenshot, sure it could be neon lighting and mist/smog considering its essentially an entertainment district but the neon-lights could have easily been a different color than red. Then its talking about brawlers and fighting pits, entertainment district could point towards any of the four if taken from the right perspective but that immediate focus on combat that would point more toward Khorne. Then there is the line 'The glory is short-lived however as blood lust corrupts.'. That line more than any other points towards Khorne in my head, the idea of blood lust corrupting. Next part is talking about murder cults, off the top of my head that is usually in (40k) reference to one of 4 gods. Khaine (which while possible I kinda doubt as in 40k he's Eldar exclusive), the Emperor (When you have a religion that barely tolerates the existence of certain people your gonna get groups of fanatics who see it as their divine mission to eradicate such, though such are usually referred to as deathcults rather than 'murder' cults), Slaanesh (Chasing the high and thrill of the kill, seeking perfection in their art of murder) and Khorne. Considering this is being set in the middle of an entertainment district it could easily be Slaanesh, simply based off sheer location but again I reckon its pointing more towards Khorne.

Ok so it has to be slanesh because Fatshark said they developed a feature that lets enemies fight enemies, which tells me that she/him/they/it is going to be fighting nurgle for turf and worshipers. The set up is just to perfect with the carnival district and new drug

Wait we do already have an enemy like the globadier. The scab bomber plays that role (if slightly different in that it uses fire not poison gas) but it still has the same strategic purpose.

The mark of chaos covers all chaos but that doesn't mean that is only born by those undivided. There's still plenty of opportunities to introduce followers of another god. I've seen no hints of any other gods so far though (one of their symbols well hidden on a map would be a great teaser if they wanted to do this). Personally I like the idea of some of the rich people living in luxury in the spire turning to Slaanesh and sending some followers to deal with both the loyalists AND the grotty, smelly Nurgle followers. I'd have an occasional Slaanesh worshipping elite turn up (perhaps some super fast assassin type) then later introduce missions in the upper levels with Slaanesh cultists and other types. Tzeentch could also be present in the spires. There's also the precedent set in Necromunda where some of those in the meat processing areas going insane after years of processing human corpses and turn to a cult which (they don't know this) is an aspect of Khorne. It'll be interesting to see where and how far Fatshark take it all. Subscribed.

A friend of mine caught it so I can’t take credit for noticing, but they *did* put a Goliath Truck in the middle of the path on the new map. It’s the big truck with a bulldozer blade on the front of it. Now the amusing part is that lore-wise Goliath Trucks are actually pretty common to the Imperium, but in the tabletop game it’s specifically seen used by Genestealer Cults. Even if the Wyrmwood in the vox comms was caught by Chaos I have a feeling that a lot of what they pointed out was still related to Genestealer Cults. Or at the very least Fatshark is leaning heavily into baiting us into thinking it’s GSC. :P

Honestly I think an Exalted PB might be a good boss enemy on the same vein as the traitor captain we face in the assassination missions. As for what killed our gal... Honestly the sorcerer idea isn't bad, but I also think it could be a daemonhost, or rather, the daemon that is responsible for creating a daemonhost.

I think nurglings and plague barers would be super fun. But hear me out, ONE death guard or generic plague marine. Just one, as a boss or a RUN AWAY kind of thing

One thing that should be noted is that typically the 8 pointed Chaos star isn't exclusively Chaos undivided it's really more just the general symbol of Chaos.

Having played the map around 5 times and listening to the multiple dialogues. It's clear that Wolfer is getting desperate. The fact we managed to collect a sample of the stims has upset his plans more than he cares to admit. You can hear him growling in frustration in some lines of dialogue. Its also clear that he's fully aware of the inquisitions efforts on atoma which is why its strange to me that Wyrmwood never knew we were there. Quite a few new story tidbits since this last update

Kinda was getting the feeling that Grendyel was a ordos malicus based on how he's been using his resources so far and starting to get curious about what the 5th playable operator will be if we get deamons maybe we'll need a stronger ally

That's weird. I think I heard something about a "circus" in one of the new voice lines. Might just be a brain fart on my part though.

I recently heard a voice line in the carnival from the rejects sounding suspicious because Morrow was the only survivor in a pretty rough sounding Genestealer fight. Sorry, can't remember the exact lines but that was the jist of the short conversation.

Adding more units to nurgle makes sense. But I think they need more player types too. Ratling with pistols Enforcers I’d love to see us fighting Goliath’s or other necromunda gangs

I remember when they were hyping up Darktide before it's release, and I immediately knew this game was going to take a while to get REALLY good. And its true, bugs need smashing, players need more reasons to play, and there need to be measures to keep folks from leaving. I'm glad they took the extra step towards that with the recent update, you mentioned new daemons, and there are some, (okay maybe like 1 or 2,) in the update. You have to be careful with the kinds of enemies you add into the game, as lorewise a group of four nobodies given guns, hammers, and heavy weapons taking down a daemon host is a stretch, *DEFINITELY* more unlikely for a Beast of Nurgle. Not saying its impossible, but some of the nastier creatures in 40K need serious heavy firepower to take down. The formula is definitely there for Genestealer cultists with their mutated members, and, "Tyranid Warrior," or, "Tyranid Hive lord," enemy types. I just hate that it's gonna take a while for more factions to show up for there to be lots of variety between mission types, and enemies, but the future is bright.

The devs actually talked about this a lot when the game released : - Khornate demons/corruption are Doom Demons. Red theme, horns, blood, it's a bit too "classic" for demons and they didn't want their game to look like DOOM Eternal. - Tzeentchian demons/corruption are magical in nature and so diverse that it would be a pain to do, and they do not fit the "Horde" theme that Darktide wants with enemies. Also, magic is extremely potent in 40K, i don't think we as a team of four would fare well against a Tzeentchian incursion. - Slaaneshi demons/corruption are obviously out of the door because of the 18+ theme, so don't hope for them. So what's left? Nurgle. That's why in both Vermintide and Darktide there is only Nurglite followers - because they are super numerous, easy to do theme, and more easy to justify in the lore than the other three Chaos Gods (plagues being super common may it be in Fantasy or 40K, so easy to start a Nurgle incursion). So yeah, i understand their choice and wouldn't be that disappointed to NOT see other Chaos Gods. Also, the Star of Chaos is a symbol of ALL Chaos Gods, not only Chaos Undivided. Each of the gods have various way to make it, but it is essentially their personal crest as well as the one of the Undivided branch. They exhibit it even without being a part of the Chaos Undivided so i don't think it matters a lot. About Demons too - Demons are for the most part, an absolute other level of menace. First, they need a focal point, Demons can't survive in realspace for long without a big thing maintaining them here, may it be an object or a person (and you don't want to cross him if he is able to summon demons). Depending on the scale of the invasion, and the type of demons, they certainly send in bigger forces than us to deal with that, that's why i think that demons are going to be pretty limited in how they appear, but i might be wrong big time on this one because i can see how they would want to implement more demons than the Beast of Nurgle for example.

A Tell a lot people moebien is likey chaos undivided evidence is there. In the last in-game trailer you can see four statue in the background when Wolfer gives is speech. Devs did that on propose and they are not copy paste from the rest of the game, becuase each one has a small pose difference. Good work on theories I think your on to something

I sure hope so, I'm just past the point of really hoping for much. It took them a year...to add talent trees. That's how slow development is for this game. They haven't released a new, non-duplicate version of a weapon since March, and they just don't seem to be fixing major issues. I really, really hope they figure out the kind of lightning in a bottle game they've created and actually throw a lot of resources at it to seriously improve it, and keep adding things, but I'm probably just...jaded from basically a year of nothing.

I am still mega sadge about not getting Genestealers but your content is well produced and entertaining regardless. I DO feel like if Darktide hadn't had so many.. uhh.. to lump it all into a single word "issues" in it's development you'd probably have been right! Unfortunately with all the.. everything that they had to do post launch I don't think they had enough time to focus on fixing the game/adding small things to keep players- playing, and put out a new faction on top of that. HOPEFULLY it'll come in future and we can all look back and say "Look! She was right!". Until then though I'll still enjoy your content, even if it made me forget that it's a fatshark game and any one update will only have at best a weeks worth of new content. x3

To be fair, I think they had mentioned there being multiple Wormwood agents in Tertium. So there is still hope and cope.

The carnival of chaos is interesting, but the name just just reminds me of the left 4 dead 2 level too much. Even if the "stage" we end up in at the end is more of a fighting pit. The stims are definitely going to be a big thing but i wonder if the curse isn't just what the inquisition are calling nurgles gift, and we might end up with a captain type super special/boss because of all the mutations and that might be fun (slightly rebalenced of course). If it were 6 months down the road, i think I'd have a different theory because they were recently able to build code that allows the enemies to attack both the players and npcs(with the necromancer in vermintide). It probably too soon to implament this, but it might gives them a chance to add something crazy, like a khornish berserker, a drukari slaver (complete with demonhost like interputable teleport out so they can....tend to you), a sleneshy witch, or anything that can slap and will eat fire from cultists or even get slowed down by poxwalkers, but also be very deadly. I really do think more specials and elites are what we will see next, an entire new faction is kind of massive and i don't think theres been enough time since the last year was more about repairing and optimization, and they still gotta work on the crafting system, its still not there.

I think they're gonna release the full lineup of Nurgle demons with Part 2. Maybe Wolfer summons a great unclean one. People saying it's unlikely, are forgetting that a Great Unclean One was teased in the very first cinematic. If they are going to introduce all the different Chaos gods (They made a big deal about introducing warring factions), I think it would be a logical progression to the Nurgle storyline to kill a great unclean one, then bam. All the other Chaos gods pop up because Nurgle no longer controls a majority of Tertium. Or maybe they just do one at a time, we kill the GUO and a Keeper of Secrets pops up or something. Who knows. Maybe tzeentch will be next. I do think they're going to introduce other chaos factions, one of the biggest complaints about all 3 games is that we only fight Nurgle across 3 different games.

Fatshark could just reuse the Troll animations and assets from Vermintide 2 for a Plaguebearer as well.

BY THE EMPRAH! could you guys imagine if they added a great unclean one as a boss in darktide? Not as simple to beat as a beast of nurgle or a plague ogryn but harder to beat than a chaos champion? I LIKE KILLIN' SPIKEYS!
