OK, so you've heard that some people say squats are bad for hip impingement. But is that REALLY true?!
If you believe the "physically feeble fallacy" that a lot of Doctors (and even some physical therapists) promote, then you'll never even TRY to improve your squats.

In a random MRI the doctor said I have FAI and a labral tear and told me to immediately stop squatting past 90 degrees and definitely stop deadlifting. I didn't even know I had FAI before, never had any pain even while sitting in a deep squat, lol. He also told me I was going to develop osteoarthritis if I didn't go under the knife right now, huh.

Osteoarthritis, you mean the thing that's almost as synonymous and common as winkles with aging? And that radiographically poorly correlates with pain and disability. Physios are getting there.. but surgeons remain stuck in the biomedical model of care because... well when you've got a scalpel everything looks like a required surgery. My torn meniscus in-part inspired me to be a physio. Had knee pain for like a year. Had a physio assessment, sent for a scan (in hindsight based upon a positive mcmurrys, which I remember clearly telling the lady physio doing the test the clunk was coming from my hip not my knee.. she didn't believe me) Then was offered arthroscopy! ..I said no let's try physio. Whilst waiting for physio I did my own guesswork with rehab and it settled down! Ever since then I respected my pain, took it as an opportunity to learn and I'm currently 35 and doing paused atg squats with 2x bodyweight and nothing hurts, ever. It helps being a physio but everyone can become their own expert. There's so many channels like this one out there. It might not always be bespoke but learning to become a self expert is the ultimate goal anyway.

@@kh-wg9bt Thank you for your insights. It's great to know that you feel better and that you're crushing it out there. Is there anything in particular you're working on?

after doing MRI the doctor said I have FAI and a labral tear and I should stop running and play football once, and there is a possibility that I will not be able to play it again, and it will lead to osteoarthritis in the joint if I do not undergo surgery. I told him that there are many people who can exercise the pelvis to its normal range, and he did not believe it. He said that this is impossible for this to happen, there is something in the bones and it did not It is repaired by operation My question is: Can I progress to squats despite the pain? Is there any danger to the joint in the future?

That's what Doctors told me 14+ years ago. I have cam morphology, labral tears and subchondral cysts. Today, I'm lifting weights, running, playing sports, etc. YES! It's possible. Lots of other people have progressed too.

@@GotROM How has your cartilage level been since the doctor mentioned that you might need surgery? Have you been able to halt the progression of this wear and tear? Best regards.
