As a devil's fan I will always look at this team as not only a playoff team but a top cup contender as long as Rod and they're core is there..All those other players that go in and out are usually similar coachable players who will play canes hockey

Thank god someone has a level head. I think a cup contender is a stretch but we are def a playoff team and we’ve got so many complainiacs in here whining about moves we’ve made or not made but like it’s a rebuild and most teams would love to have a rebuild that will include a lot of the names we have on our roster

I think they fight for a playoff spot, but if the D or goalies struggle, there won't be scoring to support them. Betting on Svech is literally a 50/50 case. He's the most frustrating player in the league to watch. He does not play to his strengths (shooting the puck) anywhere near enough.

Yes they are a playoff team until they’re not. Rod has taken worse canes teams to the playoffs, and a deep run at that. We made it to the ECF with Petr Mrazek and Curtis MacElhinney in net with Gregg McKegg and Saku Maenelainen (probably butchered that spelling). We will be fine until we’re not. Offseason isn’t even over yet

Take out the I and you nailed the spelling lol , We're definitely still a playoff team but I think we are taking a step back this year until next year when Burns /Orlov/Freddy are all up and Nikishin and probably Morrow and a couple of the forward prospects like Nadeau/Blake/Trikizov /FUS come in .

@@rosariocannistraro3561 Nikishin won't be let go until next year at the earliest based on his value in the KHL. He's one of the best D in that league.

After the fresh SCF’s we’re wildcard team. Carrier is not THAT guy, Hefty but when was his last full season. 👻🧸 & D is solid but where these goals coming from. We gunna have a nothing burger 4th line! Let’s see & LFG!

Our expectation should be for them to win the Cup. This offseason it seems like they've moved farther away from that goal rather than closer. I'm really hoping to see some more additions to the roster. I also think they should consider tweaking the system. It works well during the regular season but seems less effective in the playoffs.

LOL let’s come off the ledge a little bit. Yes they’re clearly a playoff team. No they are not the best team in the Metro. They will be in the 3rd place/Wild Card conversation during this transition.

Andersen is worse than a horrible goalie, because he's just good enough to screw that position. Canes put too much into him and now they can't bail. Andersen is diabetes

Jake is a great regular season player at 160lbs. He's useless in a playoff run. All the western teams are huge on defense, they are built differently. Florida has figured this out.

In a nutshell. No, no they are not. They do not have enough offense. 2 part problem. 1...Not enough goal scorers. 2. The system they play stiffles offensive creativity....

Casual watcher apparently 😂 canes haven’t had goal scoring for a while now and still made the playoffs on the back of their defense, with poor goaltending so who is to say they can’t make it again? Won’t go far but they can make it

@@jcsandstorm919 Making it means what? Absolutely nothing . The goal is to win the cup. Let's be honest. If this was any other team Brindamour would have already been shown the door. In my opinion, if they don't win the cup or at least get to Eastern conference championship. Brindamour will be let go. Also...I'm not a casual watcher. I was at very 1st game in Greensboro back in the day. I was in the building to watch them win the cup in 06. So I'm not a casual observer.

Mate half the league can’t sniff the playoffs rn, he wouldn’t be shown the door. It’s amazing you’ve been watching so long and are this disillusioned. Too many doomsday fans 🤦‍♂️

We made the playoffs without Guentzel. Skjei and Pesce were good but replaceable. They'll be fine and battling for the Metro title again.

Pesce and Skjei are not simply “replaceable”. Essentially the team lost an entire second line of scoring and didn’t replace it with anything substantial. Playoffs will be a long shot at best

@@Seldz1Sean Walker is pretty good mate… also I’m assuming the canes are banking on hanging onto jarvy Drury and hopefully necas and that’s a solid group. And everyone knew it was going to be a rebuild year. To have those three names plus Sean Walker added and Martinook resigned and the d man talent we already have…. Most teams would say that’s good for a rebuild season…. Canes fans are getting greedy and going full on doomsday
