It was weird. They quickly plummeted down the card, losing matches to jobber combos. Then 4 years later, started painting their faces and became a major team.
Jey is definitely a very difficult case to make when it comes to if the crowd is turning on him or not. One thing that may slightly help Jey more when it comes to the crowd being behind him is….well adding more moves to his arsenal. Maybe a Death Valley Driver, a simple DDT, or even a Submission move could make people lay off of Jey a bit more. Another thing could be to have a feud with someone fresh and make it make sense. Say for instance, Chad Gable. If he does or doesn’t beat Zayn for the title, have him feud with Jey and get upset at him for not actually being a real grappler AND say that the fans are gonna turn on you because you’re a one trick pony. Have Gable psychologically get into Jey’s head to when the match does happen, it’s him proving to not only the doubters but himself that he can hang with wrestlers the caliber of Gable. That’s just my take of course. I’m happy to hear what people think.
Ppl need to GTF off the internet and TOUCH GRASS. How many 5 star matches did Austin have? Rock? Hogan? I'm not saying Jey is on their level, but ppl get over in wrestling with her charisma and character. Not whether they can do a 450 or not
Can you imagine the crowd YEETing to the Usos' entrance vs. just Jey? Can you imagine the Hardyz vs. Edge and Christian at Mania 25? Can you imagine a Brand Split where the Dudleyz never split? Can you imagine Road Warrior Animal retiring after Hawk's death? Perhaps there's a reason the Street Profits aren't breaking up any time soon. New Day never split, even after Big E's career-threatening injury. FTR is just as inseparable. AOP is incomplete when one half of that team is injured. In other words, there is nothing wrong with being a career tag wrestler!
Jey Uso is doing just fine. He'd be doing a lot better if his match with Jimmy was decent. It seemed like such poor build and something we didn't care about from the beginning. I legit wonder if they even tried.
The "YEET" catchphrase just makes me think of -JeyStillPlays- GrayStillPlays. Jey taking the Fireflies could set him up for Uncle Howdy when he re-debuts. Cody Rhodes had a small problem with his entrance for a little bit that has since been figured out.
I think it's really silly that he's being called 'Main Event' Jey Uso when he hasn't main evented a PLE since Summerslam last year (Survivor Series doesn't count since that was an 8 person War Games match). They should have Jey Feud with Judgement Day and Priest since it gives him a bunch of heels to beat up
WWE needs to give Jey a chance to shine in another big feud. He was a good sympathetic character in the bloodline story. Give him the right feud and he'll be good.
WWE started the last episode of Raw with three heels cutting a promo about the title. Jey Uso wasn’t there despite being in the world title picture and having history with all three men. This is interesting to me because on the one hand, the ring would have been too crowded, but at the same time, we have three heels talking about the world title picture. It would have been great if Jey had been the one to point out that Randy had his shoulder up and diminish Gunther’s win.
Jey is perfectly fine just because the IWC didn't like him beating dragunov they want to turn on him. Fact is hes over the people haven't turned on cody no matter how much the IWC is willing that into existence both guys get great crowd reactions and yes that's not the ONLY thing to go by but until i hear audible boos I'm siding with them not turning

This is the dumbest thing I’ve heard In a while let me remind you that when Roman reigns was in the shield he was everyone’s THIRD choice when he got the belt everybody said he wasn’t ready and look how far he came the problem is that people like you don’t want to give people like jey a chance to see what the belt can turn him into
He's a good tag team wrestler (his career up until last year's MiTB proves that), and could be a good midcard piece considering how over he is with the crowd. But I just don't see the guy as a main eventer: his in-ring isn't very good (in an age where it seems to matter more than it did even in WWE), his character post-Bloodline storyline is just him playing along with the crowd and overall I feel his current status as a singles wrestler is mostly due to how good he played his role in the Bloodline storyline (and unlike Jimmy, the bad booking of the Uso feud hasn't affected him at all, neither did their match being that bad). Also, unlike other babyfaces who did so, him turning heel would hurt him more than help him, as being over with the fans as a face is his biggest asset right now. So to sum it up, he's good, but in my humble opinion he's not main event.
Will Jey be a permanent fixture in the main event? I tend to doubt it. Nevertheless, he’s been way more successful, than I think most of the IWC was willing to give him credit for. Smarks have a tendency to decide who’s “allowed” to get over past a certain point, & hate being proven wrong (still waiting for that mass turn on Cody⏳)
I would have had to have been on his side to turn against him in the first place, he is a fun mid card wrestler but being a main eventer like he claims rings hollow
Well I’m sure with the more “hardcore smart fans” of course Jey Uso matches aren’t great but his charisma has gotten him popular with the casual audience same with L.A Knight great promos but boring in ring skills but that’s what WWE is mostly all about imo.
Jey was main event during the Bloodline. Roman was not as hot as 2020/21 but still the top star. In a heated feud brother v brother especially, it shouldn't start via a headlock. As for Gunther he seems to be the next top villain but who knows Jey could stay over and be nicely slotted into a 1-2 month challenger to a now WWE Champion Gunther if and when he dethrones Cody.
@DaveKnowsWrestling I don't dislike Jey, but I think he's reached his ceiling. He's proven to be a solid guy who can fill in across the midcard if needed. He's likely to end up with brother again.
