It’s honestly funny how many people hate PB when many of her actions are - maybe not 100%moral- for the good of HER kingdom. She’s the ruler of the CANDY KINGDOM and it will always come first. And let’s be honest, the majority of the candy people aren’t the most intelligent around.

Think one of the biggest problems with PB is that she constantly thinks and acts like she's smarter and better than those around her, which is kinda true, she treats people badly or poorly for it, and very rarely explains herself unless prompted or pressed, because she assumes she knows better, which she usually does, but we all see the problem

Everyone forgets that the ice king has kidnapped princesses many, many times. When the heck did he serve time and get rehabbed?

Whenever I see this episode I always wonder why Bubblegum or anyone for that matter, simply doesn't just mention that Ice King had never been arrested for any of his previous crimes that we've seen in past episodes. They had plenty of cause and justification to lock him up just in general.

To be fair ice king is a serial kidnapper that kidnapped her in the past. I don't think she needs a reason to want him in prison. Plus if someone kidnapped my in the past multiple times, then spread a disease in my kingdom, i wouldn't even try to reason. But i understand i also love ice king.

PB is one of those characters that I like a lot, especially as a fleshed-out character, without condoning or excusing her actions throughout the show (a sentiment which could probably be applied to some extent to pretty much everyone, inside and outside of the show). I don't know. I guess I saw all the hate in the comments and felt the need to offer a different perspective.

It's good that your so empathetic of Ice King, but PB didn't really do anything morally wrong in this episode. When Finn asked her why they were throwing Ice King in jail, she really was going to answer them until she was called for some urgent royal duty, and no, she couldn't have just quickly told Finn and left because like she said, it was a long story. Then when we finally hear the story, her course of actions were also pretty reasonable, albeit a little extreme. When Ice King infected her people, she didn't start with ordering Finn and Jake to capture them like you assumed without hearing the full story, she tried looking for a cure, and when she found out that that cure was the pained howls of Ice King, once again, she did not resort to capturing Ice King, despite her shaky past with him. Instead, she attempted to get the screams out of him voluntarily by asking him first and when Ice King ended up refusing, THAT'S when she resorted to capturing him, and no changing the messenger would not have changed his answer. Had she had him captured at any earlier point, then it would've been justified to hate her.

I am totally here for not loving or liking PB (even though I personally love her) but a point has to be made that Ice King never paid for his continuous crimes. I mean, I agree that someone shouldn't be held responsible for his previous crimes when he already paid for them, but this is absolutely not the case. I also love Ice King but we do have to remember that the shit he made still affected people, and he is constantly harassing and kidnapping PB and other princesses

Has ice king ever actually served jail time for his crimes? If I’m remembering right, all he’s gotten so far is ass whoopings so he should still be a wanted criminal anyway.

Billy's voice actor, Lou Ferrigno, is a legendary body builder and actor, and has not only won a Mr. America title, but was Mr. Universe 2 years in a row. He's a guy who you'd hear mentioned in the same breath as Arnold Schwarzenegger. He's also often recognized for playing The Hulk on the 1978 Hulk TV series. His odd accent is the result of Brooklyn Italian heritage and _losing most of his hearing_ at a young age, he regained it later in life, but you can tell he's talking louder than necessary, due to not being able to tell how loud his voice is.

The what have you done episode confuses me. Considering how quickly PB explained the situation after the fact, I don’t know why she just didn’t do that from the start? I mean , I know it’s supposed to showcase how corrupt and egotistic PB is that she doesn’t feel the need to explain herself, but she literally made things so much harder for herself. I know this is me just nitpicking and that there is a story and character reason for why everything played out how it did, but it still kinda sticks out to me as kinda awkward

They never actually did make Ice King serve time for his past crimes & never really punished him at all. The only real moral issue I see with the situation is that they decided to repeatedly cut him slack because he's crazy or whatever (or maybe because arresting a king is a delicate political situation?) but then randomly arrested him one day, with plans to torture him without even knowing why. It's kinda like when RU-vid kept letting Jaystation do evil stuff without consequences & then just suddenly banned him one day with no explanation. It makes you wonder what they really banned him for & if you can't know what the motive is behind the punishment, you can't trust that the authorities are unbiased & righteous.

In an attempt to appear empathetic towards the Ice King, Alcia never once asked herself, "maybe PB had a reason for her actions" or, "maybe she DID try and ask the Ice King for help."

Ice King is the best character in adventure time, especially in the latter seasons

Thanks for this. Some fine lines. PB ... means well and her methods are a product of her history, but, especially with Finn, they're not really defensible.

Being an active non-violent positive influence in your community is good, of course when you also live in a world full of monsters, city states ruled by strange inhuman royals, dozens of different sapient beings of which many regard each other as possible food...then you really need adventurers ready with a sword.

Not liking PB is valid, most people don't like her. She is very morally grey and has a horrible habit of not explaining what's going on when she really should, but that makes her one of the best characters in the show plus she's a great contrast to Finn who's pure good and wouldn't agree with a lot of what PB wants to do most of the time, which in turn gets her to lie to him or simply not give him context for why he should be doing something. Character writing at it's finest 😊
