Also it’s important to state that as much as we may desire to be with our significant other, those of us “religious men” respect this law “Taharat Mishpacha” not just because it’s commanded, we take into consideration that a women going through this life impacting moment also need this moment for herself, it’s not being selfish but being supportive, sometime in life we need to accept other measure such as this.

Then you should see a doctor, even in jewish practices we have a concept called Pikuach nefesh.....it is the principle in Halakha (the way) that the preservation of human life overrides virtually any other religious rule of Judaism......so in short if you have something irregular, you should see a doctor to sort the unfortunate mis-timmings of the cycle, so then you can see your partner again, providing the doctor can help, Shalom Aleichem, England!! ✡️ 🇬🇧

So interesting, and he's right about people's assumptions. Whenever I see or hear something I don't understand it never assume, I research because to me knowledge is power in that if you wish for people to open their hearts and minds I believe in educating them. Not by looking down on them but helping them to understand that we are all God's children no matter which religion you follow. Myself, I was forced out of 2 different churchs ( Lutheran and southern Baptist ) simply because I had joined the church my husband and his family worshipped at, when he deserted me and our 2 children the head of the church told me that I had to be at fault for my husband's actions and wasn't a good wife. They actually came during Sunday school and made us leave the church grounds. I thought where is God's love here? Now I speak to God everyday, in my home, in my yard when I prepare my children for bed. You sir and your family are truly blessed you know where you fit in God's world.

Aloha, I am not Jewish and have a question for a Rabbi. In meeting a Rabbi, what is the protocol? What is an appropriate gift for a Gentile to bring a Rabbi? Love your work!
@Rochelny
@Rochelny 2 года назад
Hi! Most do not bring gifts to meet with a Rabbi. Protocol would be to call them Rabbi ... If you are being hosted or invited to the Rabbis home, maybe bring flowers BEFORE shabbat or the holiday begins. (Its complicated to handle flowers on shabbat) Try not to bring food or wine if you arent Jewish. (Most non religious jews don't bring food or wine either) Most importantly. Be yourself.

Do Rabbi's refer to non-Jews as gentiles? From what I have read in the Torah we are referred to as Goyim or "Goy" for short. It isn't meant to be a nice name for us either. To segregate humans by name based on their religion is never good. And is it true that Jews are allowed to kill all Goyim, even the good? The Talmud says (as I have been reading it lately): "[Even] the good among the Gentiles must be killed. [Tov shebe goyyim harog] [Sofrim 15:10]". Even if this is meant in times of war, as some Jewish Scholars protest (and I would protest that we are always in a time of war somewhere in the world), its seem that the Torah encourages death to all Goyim or Gentiles??? What are your thoughts on this? Also if, as you suggest in this video, that Jewish people have such a reverence and ritual around the "loss of life" as you put it (even down to the loss of a chance of life in an un-fertilised egg from a woman or with the potential loss of life from an ejaculation in a man) they why is it ok to de-value the life of a non-Jewish person, a goyim or a gentile? Is it ok that we are killed or die because we are not Jewish? This is where I struggle with ALL religions. There are always passages in holy texts which seem to advocate that the religion which one is born into is the real true religion and that all other religions are not right or not true or are fake....to follow one religion so doggedly (simply because you were born into it) implies a cult level of belief, an indoctrination by family that leaves you without the means to seek understanding beyond it. That to me is limiting and dumbing down, its not allowing for free evolution of the next generation. Keeping people within an ancient and traditional doctrine does not allow for evolution for the time, for societal changes for human development....which will occur down to your DNA level as we mutate with each new generation. I know those genetic mutations are limited within indoctrinated religious people but the y will still occur and the influence of the outside world cannot be stopped however much you keep your women indoors doing the cooking and having babies and the men doing the finance, business and quite often flouting the rules of their own religion in private. Wouldn't it make sense to have regular meetings and adapt the religion year on year....a good one to start on is the one I mentioned above i.e. allowing changes to the female purification process after and during a menstrual cycle where the woman has any issues and the cycle is more frequent or resulting from peri-menopause and or menopause. It is ridiculous to expect a women to take 2 weeks approx after every bleed in these cases...and why is it not 2 weeks for a man after he has masturbated? Surely this is the same thing? Except for the woman it is a lot harder to carry out and maintain, keeping woman busy and performing ritual so they cannot stray from the marriage or do anything else but be controlled. THIS is how I see this! And I am sure I am not alone. Please respond as I genuinely would like to hear an answer.

I second what @Roch O has said. Try not to bring any type of food (if ur invited to their home) because Jewish dietary laws are quite complex. I was raised in a traditional Orthodox Jewish community and I still don't fully know what is & isn't kosher (ok to bring). Don't just drop off any kosher foodstuff because some Jews need extra-specific types of things while others are more relaxed & will eat it as long as there's a kosher stamp on (eg. Some people will only drink chalav yisroel milk & not "normal" kosher milk). Also, if you're a woman, don't shake the rabbi's hand/give him a hug /touch him. My mom would probably also make me wear a skirt & clothes that were up to my elbows & didn't show cleavage. So best to dress more conservatively. Same for a man. If you're somehow invited to an extreme religious house (like my uncle in Montreal) then you should cover your hair if you're married (I don't agree with this 🙄 He made my mom do it). Most rabbi's I've known are pretty relaxed, easy-to-talk-to people. They're almost like the community's social workers/counselors as well as religious leaders. They make an effort to get to know your family. So they're usually great people to meet even if you have different ways of thinking & opposite opinions. That being said, there are problems in every community so not every rabbi will be deeply respectful/understanding. It depends on the person. P. S you can look up the times shabbos /Yom tavim come in on Google in that area so as to drop off flowers to the family before (any religious Jewish family) if you're invited over. P. P. S I'd be happy to learn the protocol of meeting people in your community! 🙏❤️ Please share if you're comfortable.

I’m confused. I thought Jewish tradition doesn’t recognize life until the quickening of the fetus. If that’s true then a fertilized egg what was passed during menses wouldn’t be considered a life so why would you mourn.
@MyndEye
@MyndEye Год назад
@25M views So basically its just another control method over Orthodox Jewish Couples to keep them so busy in ritual and the performance of it that they cannot find time for anything else! That's one way of keeping your religion going ;-) If what @Lawrence Mielnicki says is true, that Jewish people don't recognise life until the quickening of the fetus then what is the point of making Jewish women spend 2 weeks honouring a dead egg (because it is unlikely to be an actual foetus if she has her menstrual cycle)? Seriously I'd like to know?! That's what these videos are for they? to generate discussion and understanding of the Jewish faith and find out why things are done the way that they are??? So whats the ritual actually for? You suggest a lot of "impureness" and "unholiness" talk, which religions use a lot as a control mechanism (so do cults I might add but I will refrain from drawing any further comparisons)....so is a menstrual cycle classed as unholy or impure? I'm sure the family in the video did their utmost to suggest it is not....but are they trying to protect their faith in saying that when actually it is? Is male (or female) masturbation classed as "unholy" or "impure" (unclean)? I think religions are based on making people feel less than they are, keeping them controllable and manipulating them so that they follow doctrine, tradition and lots and lots of rules (probably designed mostly by misogynistic men) that they don't even know why they must follow them. I bet many Jewish families don't follow that ridiculous purification process during and after a menstrual cycle but they all pretend to each other that they do of course....to keep the facade going. I bet all young people still masturbate freely and don't chastise themselves afterwards in the form of a "purification ritual" to make themselves feel better about what they are actually doing to themselves. Sounds like self-flagellation to me. Simple hormones in young men and women can cause them to seek out sexual gratification, we are often slaves to our bodily functions and changes and no amount of ritual or religion can change that. Plus there has to be a massive sense of denial in all religions by all those who practice it as everyone succumbs to their animal instincts at some point. I'm happy to acknowledge my strengths and my flaws and embrace all of me. When i was under a religion I was kept down, controlled and made to feel that I would be nothing without it. That simply is not the case. But so many are indoctrinated from such a young age that they daren't leave or be different as their family would shun them. Its all fear based rhetoric and traditionalism that is as outdated as the books the religions were based on. Its 2022, we need to wake up from a collective sleep and see what we have become. We are all the same, we are all one and i will always treat every other human as I would want to be treated, that's my only rule. If I don't understand I will question and if I don't get the answers that I feel are truth then I will never stop seeking them.

The Torah tells us that a man may be impure by even sitting on the same chair as his wife who has her Niddah. He must go through a Taharas HaMishpocha like his wife has to go through culminating in a MIKVAH to allow Husband and wife to be intimate once again.
@4314Crystal
@4314Crystal 11 месяцев назад
So during the time how aren't intimate, can you talk about sex? I'm guessing self-satisfaction is forbidden? What happens if you have spotting mid-cycle? What about if you have long periods but short cycles, so you're past your fertile window by the time you can have sex again? What happens during perimenopause when a woman's cycles become less regular? What about in full menopause, does she still have to seperate? Do older post-menopause couples share a bed all the time? What happens if the mikvah night falls on shabbat, can you still go, or is it closed? I know the video is from a little while ago now :) thanks for sharing, it was very interesting!

@haniyehnematollahi7989 Год назад
Thanks for the information! Honestly you can talk about absolutely anything in this world by putting a smile on, and relating it for no good reason to love and care. Any woman in this world knows that going through period is one of the biggest burdens of each month. It is so interesting that the woman is left alone during this horrible time alone, which by the way has a very low chance of pergnancy. Now remember, you cannot join after the one week of period which is fascinating and we are stupid so we do not know why! :))) And then, when she is all fine and guess what? is at the peak of her fertility which is mid-cycle the couple is reunited. Now as you well said, the anticipation makes them quite eager! After 2 weeks the horny husband meets the wife and of course they will have sex which will have a great chance of getting pregnant! This is all the simple explanations that a religion twists just to make someone feel better about following the rules without thinking for a moment.

Thanks for the video, May I voice some intelectual disagreement? 1.If it is true that all these laws are purely for keeping the relation fresh; Why on earth does the KSA state all sorts of horrific punishments for violating them. (Including infant mortality, eternal torture, 'bad children', ETC) The only conclusion I get for why SEED is seen as so precious in Judaism, is for the sake of the slave economy. (as I learned in mishna Berachot) 2. Contrary to popular beleif, Greek does have a word for Tumah, namely Miasma or Miasmasis; meaning defilement. (μιασμα, μιασμασις) A substance that lacks any sensual perception which is the root cause of all disease, insanity and possesion. During a woman's period it is beleived she holds all kinds of evil inside her, that's why touching her is forbidden. [And also why Plato's symposium advices men to get a boyfriend besides a wife] 3. How is life sacred in Judaism? Human beings are treated as disposable throughout the Torah. (Iov is a great example ~he got ten children to replace his dead ones, how is that a compensation?~) 4. Being forced to stay away from your partner is called Sexual Repression. Letting someone else decide when you may or may not be intimate is called SEXUAL REPRESSION Telling someone that 'you must keep on having children or else God will punish you' is guess what? It is 23.20 here, I cannot sleep due to having night terrors, because of these gruesome stories. 5. Why do you Chassids hammer on and on about happiness? When the torah is about getting depressed; Knocking out disposeable children. selling 'em as soon as they can walk. Finaly: Menachem Sheneoverson is not the messiah. Sayed R'Akiva: Shimeon ben Kotzba is the messiah. Thanks for reading
