What do we mean when we say that someone is an "immature" leader or person? How should the church address that immaturity so that it does not contaminate the house? I have the upmost respect for dr. Judith McAlester for the way that she's thinks and her ability to operate through the anointing and deliver what is necessary she was one of my choir directors and the greatest worship and praise leader that I know and I truly thank God for her West Angeles Church of God in Christ will always be my church home and it feels good to know that I'm not just sitting up under just anybody but I've had the pleasure I'm just being around her and learning as much as I could from her I've known her ever since I was a young teenager and I truly look forward to seeing her again I'm so glad to be a member in the Church of God in Christ

As someone who does transpose (I'm working on it), I was actually encouraged to keep working by what she said. I never thought about the fact that me switching and pushing buttons can be a hindrance. Some of us are so focused on being offended, that we can't see instruction for what it is and use it to make us better vessels and it's to our detriment. Just like preachers still need to study the word just like everyone else, you being anointed and gifted does not exempt you from wanting to get better. It is of course by God's grace and mercy that you do but it's not going to happen by you not touching the keys or the drums or the bass until the next service! Don't be like the man who received the talent and buried in the dirt doing nothing with it.

Most of the Praise and Worship leaders CANNOT PLAY half of the songs that they " want " not necessarily " led by God " to sing. But, expect a " Good Musician" to learn the song " exactly as how it's recorded" & flow ( playing underchording) in the service. PLUS Deal with a lot of fragile egos ( Leadership ) & hostile attitudes from choir members who already have formed cliques & opinions about The Musician before one note has been played. ALONG WITH receiving " instructions" about flow/ choice of music from The Pastor, His wife ( sometimes she wants to hear a song that touches her) Trustee & Deacon Ministry for pay, evaluation, & complaints, all in 1 Day not INCLUDING working with other musicians who have their own unique style of playing. Not every musician can work well with other musicians, especially if the skill set is not even amongst musicians. Training? Where do you get the training? Is it the right training? Even with skill & training, that's not enough for most Leadership. They want the musician to become a " member" of that organization, sometimes BLATANTLY trying to coerce the musician into joining. Who does that? If ministries want Musicians who are skilled and trained, then uphold your end and train the members to work along with the musician. Train members to come to rehearsal ready to be a blessing musically instead of focusing on the gossip and negativity. Stop allowing unprofessional singers to teach parts. That can kill " The annointing" . Personally, I have worked with over 100 ministers & churches, & every one is unique. But, I've never seen a church with Bad music& Bad preaching have a full house. Most people want / need the combination of " Good Music & Good Preaching. One cannot live without the other.

I am a worship leader, and I am a FRIM believer that you have to have a relationship with God and KNOW that God has called you for whatever task. At the same time.. I am a FIRM believer that you should know how to do what your called to do. There is no harm in taking lessons to PERFECT the gift that God has given you. Read about the qualifications of becoming a levite. God instructed David to CHOOSE SKILLED musicians. They had to be separated unto the Lord, but they also had to be skilled. I don't understand why we have higher standards for people in the "secular" world, but will let anybody grab a mic...

She's a very basic praise leader. She's talking on a basic level. skills has nothing to do with the spirit.God uses less skilled ppl because of their heart. She couldn't flow in every arena because she sings 1 way. I'm pointing this out because she's talking from a super basic place. I know skilled musicians who can't flow because they know too much to allow God to play through them.God wants what he sees as skilled to flow and heal , deliver and set free.This religious way of thinking is dead

............Greet......Greetings....... ...***Greetings, Beloved of God. This message is lengthy but, it is very important. The ancient Israelite was tested by the Sabbath commandment to see if they would keep God’s law or no in Exodus 16:4- Do not be surprised if God allow man to do a similar test, enforce some type of Sabbath law to see if we will keep His law or no. ************************************************ Right now, we all do not see eye to eye, but, please hear me out.............. There is no way anyone can prove from the KJV Bible that Saturday, Sunday, etc. is the biblical seventh day Sabbaths. For, the words Saturday, Sunday, etc. do not appear in the Bible. A continuous Saturday, Sunday, etc., “man made Sabbaths” ARE NOT the true Bible Sabbaths because they are not calculated by true time. God’s true time is written in Genesis 1:14. When God commanded us to keep a seventh day Sabbath, kill the Passover on the 14th day of the first month, keep the day of atonement on the 10th day of the seventh month, etc......would He not have given us a calendar/Time to find these dates? Yes, He would have and He did, in Genesis 1:14. We are commanded to keep the days, years, etc. by the lights in heaven (the sun, moon and stars.) God did not specify which days, so, we must conclude that He meant for all of His 3 category of days to be kept by the lights in heaven. *********** The Sabbath command is one of the Ten Commandments listed in Exodus 20. It is just as important as the other nine and God commands us to keep it. Multitudes of people think and teach that we are only required to keep 9 of God’s Ten Commandments. My Friend, if we think this way, we are already deceived. ***************************************************************************************************************** ***The Sabbath is a feast. Leviticus 23:1-3 ***The moon is for seasons. Psalms 104:19 ***The lights in heaven are for seasons, etc. Genesis 1:14 ***The words “feast” and “season” comes from the same Hebrew word, MOED. ***MOED is, appointed times, appointments, feast, season, etc. The Sabbath is a MOED, an appointed time , a feast, a season, etc. Therefore, the moon, along with the other lights in heaven, are for Sabbaths. THE SABBATH IS TO BE CALCULATED BY THE TIME GOD ORDAINED IN THE BEGINNING OF CREATION NOT BY MAN’S TIME/CALENDARS. Who can prove from Genesis 1:14 that the Sabbath day is not calculated by the lights in heaven? Although many have tried, it cannot be refuted!! Take a glimpse at the dates in Genesis 7:11 and Genesis 8:4,13,14. Are these dates calculated by the Time God commanded in Genesis 1:14 or by the Gregorian time or some other man made time? ********** There are about 167 countries that keep Sunday as the seventh day and the remaining, approximately, 64 countries keep Saturday as the seventh day. If there is a “seventh day Sunday law” enforced and the remaining 64 countries change their calendars to read Sunday as the seventh day, then, the world will be keeping Sunday the seventh day as the Sabbath. Mon. Tue. Wed. Thur. Fri. Sat. Sunday Law 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7 What day will you and I then keep as the Sabbath? Already today, there are “Sunday Blue Laws” on government books. Man can change “their” time anytime and deceive the world under the leadership of Satan. We must calculate God’s Sabbath by God’s Time so The Great Deceiver can not trick us about the true Sabbath and “cause” us to worship him. “ He will think to change time and laws.” says Daniel 7:25 He only “THOUGHT” to change time when He “supposedly” had replaced God’s calendar with his calendar on earth. For he could not and has not truly change time because God’s Time sits in the heavens where no man can tamper with it! The sun, moon and stars, the lights in heaven, are God’s Time/Calendar. *********** God’s Calendar has three category of days, the new moon day, the six work days and the Sabbath day. 2 Kings 4:18-23 & Ezekiel 46:1-3. The new moon day is the first day of the month, the beginning of months. These days never, ever, ever overlaps each other on God’s Time! ........However, this is not true on the famous Gregorian calendar. The new moon day falls anywhere and everywhere on that calendar, in a given month. For example, sometimes, the new moon day falls on a “man made Saturday Sabbath”, on a “man made Sunday Sabbath”, in the midst of the month, etc. How can it both be the first day of the month and the seventh day Sabbath? How can the first day of the month start in the midst of a month? God said in Genesis 1:14 to, let the lights in heaven be for days, etc. So, which one or ones of God’s three category of days are kept by the lights in heaven? ...The new moon day? ...The six work days? ...The Sabbath day? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Example of God’s months: 1st week... new moon day, six work days and Sabbath day 2nd, 3rd, 4th weeks....six work days and Sabbath day The next month the cycle starts over. God’s months reset. Read Luke 6:1 Man uses this same concept. For example: The 1st and 3rd Sunday in August, the 1st and 3rd Sunday in September.” “The 2nd and 4th Sabbath in April, the 2nd and 4th Sabbath in May.” Note: There is never, never, ever, ever, 5 weekly Sabbaths in any one of God’s months. This is not true on the Gregorian calendar. Sometimes, there are 5 weekly “Gregorian Sabbaths.” This is not in align with true time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I believe there is a great deception coming to get people to worship Satan through a false Calendar/Sabbath controversy. God is a God of truth. God guides people by His truth. God’s Word is truth. Truth is our shield and buckler. Truth will keep us from all deceptions, the mark of beast, etc. Christ did not suffer on the cross for us to walk in a lie and continue to cling to our traditions! He did not die for us to obey the “voice of man” above “the voice of God!” Read the stories about “King Saul” in 1 Samuel 15 and the “man of God” in 1 king 13. Let us learn a lesson from these testimonies....Obey God’s Voice! When we do and teach man’s commandments for doctrine, it is vain! It is useless! God does not honor it! There will be no reward! Again! there is a great possibility some type of “Man made Sabbath Law” could be enforced. These latter days crises seems to be pointing in that direction. If this is not true, then, we do not have to worry about it......But..... ....If it is truth then, we need to become more knowledgeable about this subject in order to make the right decision whom we will honor and serve. A Sabbath test will reveal those who believe Gods Word and those who do not. Whether there is or whether there is not a “Sabbath Test”, we still need to know the truth about God’s Time written in the Word of God so we can be obedient in all things. ***Worship Him that made heaven, earth and sea. ***Babylon is fallen! Babylon is fallen! ***Do not worship the Beast and receive his mark, whosoever does, will be eternal lost and be burnt with fire and brimstone. ****Read Revelation 13 & 14 This truth about God’s Calendar/Time and The Sabbath written in Genesis 1:14, Leviticus 23:1-3, Psalms 104:19, etc.is spreading throughout the four corners of the earth. This message enrages many who claim to be followers of Christ because they can not refute it. It seems, the people outside the church buildings are the ones eagerly accepting it and believing it. Please let us consider what is being said here and further research this important subject before it is to late. Peace and Love Friends of God.

If you want good musicians , please get them but God is looking for a heart not a talent.Skills don't bring in the presence of God but they can create an atmosphere and it not be of God.Strange fire,The Spirit of Divination and conjuring up spirits right in the church.Religion allows this to happen.Skill is simply being trained but you can't be trained to have skill and flow unless your training has a spirit. You're either trained and skilled in the Spirit of God or The Spirit of Divination

I believe utilizing the transpose button disables or makes the musician lazy on mastering all 12 keys. There is no short cuts in being skillful, you have to go through the process. Its arduous and tedious but the end results are well worth it.

the problem is most gospel musicians are skilled but haven't played 1 spirit off of a person like David did. Who has been healed through your skill? who's been delivered through your skill? how many blind eyes have been opened by your skill? There's a difference between a skilled musician and a minstrel. A minstrel is not just for the local house but they also prophesy from there instrument.playing chords from skill means nothing when the spirit of God is not in it.I'll take a heart over skill

This is what my husband and I tell our praise team..and our psalmist ministry...we are led by the spirit of God. My husband I have had our list together and the praise team and God has alot of times said this is not what you will be singing today. We don't hog up all the songs..our praise team they lead songs...we have 2 other led by the Holy Spirit Team leaders that trade off and lead praise and worship, and on their sunday's they don't lead all the songs...it's called being lead by the Spirit.

She's a 1 track singer.She sings 1 way so that doesn't make her skillful .It makes her skillful in her own house but not overall skillful.Skill means that you can flow in every genre , every atmosphere , no limits and boundaries on what you are able to do.Not just singing black hymns and congregational songs but being able to flow in any atmosphere.She's making a culture statement and not 1 of much substance.Skill has many levels and she displays 1 but not all. Just saying

Good Comment Terrance!!! This is good teaching! You need Skill and Anointing. This is not ""religious Teaching" its biblical... Would u want somebody cooking your food that can't cook? A lot of these M.O.M and Worship leaders are in FULLTIME ministry, and I feel like if you taking that role, then your saying you have the SKILL to do what we hired you for. Not Only for singing, but in whatever GOD has called us too. If you have a desire to be in fulltime music ministry but Can't modulate, cant play in other keys etc Your chances of being hired are slim... mainly because you cant play. :/

@Kyle Lovett...She's skilled in what God has called her to. She wouldn't need to display all of the "skill Levels" she just needs to display whatever gifting God has given her.... Skill doesn't mean you can sing in any environment! Skill means you have trained, and perfected the gift that God has given to YOU... for the People he has called YOU to reach. If I were to hire a musician.. I would be looking for an anointed skilled person..

Transposing is doing enough to get by your not really learning if you can't take the time & learn your keys your not valuable point blank I don't care how many riffs & runs you can make if you transposing you can't play.

@Churchfolklive sir i believe that you missed her ENTIRE point! the bibles says in isa.1:17a.........LEARN TO DO WELL........ how can you learn if you dont study? and yes they may be anointed, but what happens when its time for he or she to jump right in a flow and dont have time to set their keyboard up (because thats their no keyboard but only and organ and they cant push button) and they cant produce because of lack of learning all their keys..........my name is Terrance Ruffin and i approve this message peace and blessings

I have no problem with Mrs. McAllister bringing up the "transpose" factor in gospel music, however I have a problem with the issue being unresolved... When you rebuke someone we as Christian are suppose to do it in love and I didn't receive love from her perspective... Listen if the goals it to be on one accord, then how do we as Christian praise and worship leader's/minsters open up wombs (which in this case is a metaphor)and leave them bleeding? We don't heal by exposing a situation and then going about our business... I speak about this because I transpose when I first got started and then it became ignorance because I wanted out but I didn't make enough money nor did I have a mentor to steer me in the right direction or a person take me under there wing and give me the guidelines of music education... I'm not looking for a pity party, but I'm looking for a person to have a realistic answer to the transpose issue and not let it go into the bleeding mode unresolved...

Two words from a musician who has played for almost twenty years and still find myself learning something new: Practice more. I know it sounds crazy, but when I first started playing piano I learned basic theory by watching others play and asking them how chord progressions work. The basics can teach you how to play in every key, but you may still find you like some keys better than others (and I am sure any musician who reads this will agree). I might like D-flat, F, and and A major keys whereas another musician may prefer C and E.

I'm not a musician,but this always seems to be a trivial argument you would b surprise of the musicians that use it. I always say if the spirit is there what harm was done? And i felt a woman of her status that was a cheap shot she took, it didnt make me look favorable at her. Maybe have a closed session with musicians and address this with them, and leave it there, you dont see our white brothers and sisters having this kind of arguments publicly.ivial

we ask what happens when you have a situation that a leader you thought was okay to attend and have as a mentor does not have a success with their associations and religion assembly refuses to acknowledge this and continues to try to mark tissues and cause distractions we understood childlike behavior but children dont even behave like that and we believe it's wrong to willfully set out to harm those and not try to improve

Danielle clarkWho made her the music God..I know plenty anointed musicians that transpose and have the heart of God what makes her the music guru on praise and worship..a musician is not immature because he transposes..neither is a Psalmist that cannot sing in every key ....to me a skilled musician is one that can usher in the presence of God so that his train can fill the temple..one with a relationship with a God..when you find a leader like that then you have a skilled musician..that's what David meant by ski..perhaps Judith needs to become more skilled in the word
