it's important to know that food is an incredibly important theme for the Fate series. In fact, it's so important, almost every piece of Fate media features cooking and cuisine in some aspect, but there's even a spin off manga and show that is dedicated to Fate characters making food from scratch that you can actually follow along with. It's the idea of a 'home life' in the day that is cut apart by the dark world of servants fighting in the night. Nothing is more peaceful than a meal with loved ones, and so great effort is given to it. If you bought the special edition of the game, you'd actually be given an English novel of the characters from this game describing and eating a variety of food. So Saber's love of food isn't so much a reference to anything of their past, but moreso just a continued tradition started with the original visual novel that continues to this day. Fun fact, it's what encouraged me to start cooking myself!

Basically on every single map he is disguising himself as *something* and you can interact with him to ruin his disguise. I am guessing since you haven't talked to a lot of random NPCs (at least you haven't shown that yet) you have yet to run into him, so this was the first time you saw him in this LP.

There's a meme around this Lancer, based on my limited and casual knowledge on this franchise, that I won't spoil but all I'm gonna say is that it makes his abilities in the mobile game very ironic.

Rogue Lancer's identity should be very apparent, since one of his skills has the name of his spear Gae Bolg, in it. You've probably seen him multiple times in Persona games. Just without one-hit kill capabilities with that spear. The Assassin with the merchant lady is very much the same Assassin with the snakes. Assassins would be known for stealth, and disguises are part of stealth. And that lady technically isn't British, since Holland is the Netherlands. Which is Dutch.

There's something amusing about the fact that Aria has been seen for several episodes and hasn't joined regular combat. Then Rogue Lancer who has known Iori for 5 minutes is ready to just be called for a fight.

Random Fate Trivia #6 Nico has touched upon a Class' innate skills from a previous episode, so let's focus a little bit on one of the innate skills of the Saber class: Riding. Believe it or not, you can actually compare the Riding class to driver's license...if it had upgrades, which I am not sure they do but I already made the comparison so we'll roll with it LETS MOVE ON. Essentially, having a higher Riding skill means you can...ride...a lot more things. For example, having a Riding skill of C allows you to mount practically everything, even creatures, with the caviat that you already know how to do so. With a Riding of B, you can mount anything, don't even need extensive training. The best part about having a Riding of B is that even if the Servant is from the BC Era, if they have a high enough Riding, they can literally drive a car even if the concept of a car did not exist in their time. Crazy, right? And obviously, A ranking on Riding means you are legible for Rider class, it also means you have mastery of almost every mount imaginable with exceptions as those require a completely separate skill.

The Mystery Girl Merchant herself is not a real historical figure (instead just written specifically for this game) it seems, however her Family-line was real. The Family name was known at the time. Also in minor related to other Fate work.

Hey Nico just wanted to drop a general gameplay… tip? Kind of. There are a few aspects of the gameplay that are introduced at a weird time AKA surprisingly late into the game. That’s cause the game is heavily built around its New Game+ with exclusive quests and even an entire ending to that playthrough. So the unlock for some things comes late with the idea they are used in the second playthrough when it carries over. If I remember Three Houses Nico well enough, you don’t usually go back to do multiple routes so no worries if you don’t got back to do the new stuff. Just wanted you to be aware so that some of the late game unlocks and mechanics don’t catch you off guard in how little time you actually have to use them.

If you played a Japanese videogame in the last 30 years, you have heard Tomokazu Seki's amazing voice-acting talent, but let's do a minor rundown of his previous roles: In this game, and since 2004, he is Gilgamesh for the Fate franchise (he also does Mozart). In the Persona franchise he's Kanji Tatsumi. In the Steins;Gate and Robotics;Notes games he is Hashida Itaru (Daru). In the Teeken franchise, he is Yoshimitsu. Of course, these are only his videogame roles: his breakout anime role was as Domon Kasshu in Mobile Fighter G Gundam in 1994 (thirty next year!) and he was in a lot of great shows, from Neon Genesis Evangelion (Toji) to Pretty Cure (Mepple) and One Piece (Rob Lucci).

Despite the shop not refreshing until a chapter ends, imo its better to prioritize the items that you know youre gonna need for workshop and save the money for workshop upgrades. Also, be careful before you sell/use mats to craft gems, in case you need it for a future workshop upgrade Also another tip, some workshop upgrades does require certain statues, so for now it might be better to not sell them for now (just avoid using sell all on boss' shop). Later on you can buy Linden so its not a problem by then.

Rouge Lancer is from the first Visual Novel so a lot people would already know his identity and he does appear a lot in other fate games. I might not be far from the game but he gets love in this game with his digressions especially who know him over the years.

The thing I love about this game is the Servant bosses. It can be smooth sailing and victories against normal enemies and even the mini-bosses, but that tone of battle is significantly shifted when it's a Servant Battle where one wrong move leads to an immediate game over.

I still remember watching the parody anime that had the running gag of "OH NO, LANCER DIED" with our blue colored rogue here dying in every damn episode in increasingly absurd ways. (As I have not played this game on account of not really being a Fate player I really hope he survives to the very end here.)

I think the music that accompanies the Rogue Lancer's appearance kinda gives away his nationality, but it is kinda funny that, when compared to his original appearance, he's actually done a decent job of hiding his name

You might want to keep some Buddha statues on hand since you need some for workshop upgrades and digressions. Also you will likely get all the gems you need from enemy drops.

Mediating conflict is actually a REALLY good way to fill affinity, because it instantly gives you a whole 'bit'. Like, petting animals gives you a slight fraction, and the bar fills up over time in fights, but this is literally just one extra 'pip' immediately. It's worth doing if you need one, and there's usually one or two in some of the towns. Funnily enough, the dozen or so I did, the punches were always thrown on the left side. Additionally, you might not have noticed, but the Gilgamesh statues require pine instead of linden. You won't be able to find pine in stores just yet, and it's a rare drop in the wild.

In regards to the gem crafting it really isn't worth it outside of a single reason: You need to craft 50 gems to unlock a specific new spell in the wind stance skill tree.

Really leaning towards the dog jokes when he came up haha. Pretty sure he'll be able to guess who he is sooner or later. Kinda hard no to seeing he is a one of the popular ones

38:20 Yeah, gems are only dropped by monsters, so they can in kind of a short supply, especially in the early game, where most of the encounters in each town are more humans than monsters.

In regards to your question, yes. Pretty much 98 percent of all fate VA are the same as they always have been ever since the first official voiced fate thing, the fate stay night anime from 2006

Fate characters pretty much have their voices locked in, while the original game didn't have any actors due to type-moon being relatively small at the time of it's release, after the anime came out every subsequent re-release has had the same cast play the same characters, tomokazu seki is still Gilgamesh, all of the tamamo 9 are voiced by chiwa sato, even in games where they reappear they always reprise their role, the only exception to my knowledge is the female protagonist of fate grand order, but that was mostly due to her first actress put her career on hold to focus on healing something that was going on with her throat, which was thankfully fixed the following year though she never took back her role as said character.

Oh looks it's Kenny, I'm not joking. In the anime Carnival Phantasm which is a comedy show based on the OG Fate/Stay Night and it's sister visual novel Tsukihime, Lancer has the unfortunate role of Kenny from South Park and dies in almost every episode. His own dedicated episode is a parody of Final Destination where he's trying to survive his past deaths.

I can personally say from my own playthrough that crafting gems really isn't worth it. If you *really* needed gems, you're better off just farming a spawn location of monsters. (Saving and reloading right outside an enemy spawn on a map is a great way to reset them without having to leave the area). Also, and this might be a me thing, but I think you might be better off leaving the dialogue to auto play and turning it off when you want to speak your mind. I've been noticing quite the number of instances these past couple episodes where you accidentally advanced the dialogue too soon. [I don't know if it is different on PC, but I can say that the Auto Play on the PS5 version has been excellent with no lag in advancing.]

so, Rogue Lancer, much like Gilgamesh has been with the series since the original VN. He's a fan favourite (probably no wonder why) and has appeared in many Fate spin offs. He also has the reputation of having the worst luck imaginable (check his stats), so despite being ridiculously powerful, he tends to get into situations where he can't win. Also I am once again asking you to play the original VN in the future. You can't run Nico, you opened the box, now let it swallow you...

Nico, here's some cute trivia regarding Japan and the names of countries. Japan itself refers to itself as Nihon/Nippon most of the time, a long time ago it was known as Wa and later Yamato. During the era of the Edo Shogunate it became common to refer to the country as Hi No Moto (an alternative reading of Nihon), though it isn't used too much nowadays but isn't incorrect. This is the way Iori refers to Japan here. The Lady we encountered in this episode says she is from Holland, and refers to Japan as Zipangu. Zipangu is what people referred to Japan as, especially people from Europe. The reason why? Marco Polo read a message in Chinese referring to "the country of the sun" and the Chinese pronunciation is similar to "Zipangu", his version of the country's name caught on and people referred to Japan as such for a while. It's also why we call it Japan, Zipangu altered into Japan, if you compare the phonetics you can kind of see it. Japan itself also refers to a lot of countries by older names or proper names, because they asked the people from those countries how to say it. Unlike English which... just does its own thing. So in this case Iori refers to Holland as "Orlando" which is what Japanese people call Holland to this day, based on the Orange line of nobility that rules Holland. So Japan usually pronounces say Paris the way the French do or do their best to. They refer to Germany as Deutschland. Italy as Italia. This isn't always the case but generally, they try to do so.

And now you've met one of the best boys. Rogue Lancer is a Servant from the original Fate Stay Night so he's an OG Veteran who still maintains presence in the series to this day! In regards to his identity, I won't say outright for now, however like Gilgamesh he's someone the people playing are pretty much expected to know immediately. You DO already have a major, practically telling, hint as to his identity already however. To give a direction, it's in his combat skills, specifically one of the ones you uses when you controlled him briefly.

Ironically, this is the second time a game has put more secrecy on his true name than his original appearance ever did, though it's one of the many cases where if you know about him it's very obvious, but most people outside his country haven't heard of him even though he's a really big deal there. On the topic of japanese voice actors, Fate is extremely consistent with them. There's really only been three cases where a character has changed voices, and they're all characters that don't appear in a lot of entries. One was due to the unfortunate passing of the original VA, second one was the most impactful one because it was the main servant from the gacha game but it happened on the game's second year, due to the original VA having to take a long break from work so she was replaced, and the third one I'm not sure why, though it's funny how that character has gone through three voice actors yet they all used a very similar voice so I can't tell them apart, it feels like it never changed.

They sometimes treat him like a punching bag (look up "Lancer Carnival Phantasm" or "Lancer dead" if you wanna have some good laughs, at worst you have a quick scene that spoils what boss can do), probably cause in lore he is actually pretty tanky lol. So it’s funny you mentioned the gem crafting being expensive Nico. Thats part of the lore surrounding jewel magecraft. Putting magical energy inside a Jewel will increase its power exponentially granting different effect’s based on the type of jewel (often color being associated with element) however the drawback is the jewels disintegrate after usage and many families who specialize in it spend so much of their fortune on their studies they are essentially living in “splendorous squalor” where they only have just enough money to keep the appearance of looking rich. It’s also why Iori a relatively novice mage can cast some decent spells.

Reminder that Lancer is the Kenny McCormick of the fate series and they franchise is self-aware of that.

So Nico, on your comment about female rights at the time. Historically, there were female merchants from Europe who did trvel the seas. They had to go through many obstacles to get there though they had to come from powerful families, be master negoiators, know multiple langauges and get premission from the government to be able to go out as merchants.
