Dp cost reduction would help low rarity better, like leonhardt gitano and greyy. Skyfire on the other hand need that aspd buff.

Yesssss extra range finally! I know it doesn't seems big, extra range is so good. It allows her to start attack sooner(indirectly giving more dps), and better flexibility. Like Platinum have some use despite having less dps compared to other 5 star AA sniper is because she can hit tiles that no AA sniper can.

The modules are ok for both, but I feel like the problem for mostima isn't her dp cost I wonder if the small aspd buff of 5 will effect her to perform another action on s3m3 though...

You can try that if you have Ange, I think an a spd buff of 5 will likely allow Mostima to do more than one extra attack on her S3M3

lower dp cost is among of what the community asks tho, and you know HG is watching the playerbase too, so if what we asks is in line with their class design, they'll give it (another example is guard skadi module)

dp cost is great but ASPD is still the most important one for them, just make their ASPD 2.4 sec like aoe sniper not the current 2.9 sec and it will help them a lot, mostima S3 would be 11 or 12 hit then instead of 8, Dusk S3 would be 23 or 24 hit or even more instead of 20. ASPD is the single most important one since with high ASPD you don't need to mind their damage since it's art

@@justsomerandomweeb4243 Mudrock doesn't have a dp problem because she's powerful enough to justify it. AOE casters don't have that, so their high dp costs become a problem specific to them. If you ask me though, I would say that their archetype is dead and failed, killed off by Eyja skill 2 and the introduction of chain casters

Looks alright for the 1st phase modules. Mostima's biggest problem for me was that she felt very uncomfortable to play compared to most casters. High DP, low ATK speed, bad skill uptime and downtime. The module makes it a bit less arduous to use her with a bit better ATK/speed and significant DP reduction. Only real problem now are her skill uptimes. That's an entirely different buff needed that may or may not involve with Phase 2 modules. It doesn't entirely make her stretch out of moody blues territory by a huge margin but it'll definetely make her alot more comfortable to use.

I wish Dusk's module had removed the timer on her summons. It would have added a bit more versatility to them since it's quite common for them to survive and then just expire.

What if you wanna replace them with an Op then ? They occupy a tile, we would still need to make them leave in some strats, so we can't just remove timer. Besides, you s3 when the map reaches a pressure point so most of the time they do their job to the fullest anyway.

@@clonedindividual6698 You can remove them manually, the same way you can remove anything else on the map like W's mines. Removing their timer would simply give them more versatility as opposed to as they are now which is fragile temporary blockers. It would give S3 general more use outside of, as you said, pressure points.

I disagree. The DP cost is one of the reasons why many people opt for Eyja s2 over literally every splash caster. This DP cost reduction makes it easier for them to compete on this field. I was hoping for -10 DP cost, but I guess -8 is fine as well.

@@fernando4959 The module is meant for S1. S1 hits in a 3x3 range so now it can even hits further that it originally can. I use her S1 a lot so that's a big plus, but like you said it does nothing for S2 and S3.

@@qurt5101 I also use her S1 when I'm not going for anything special, but isn't Eyja's S2 basically just better? It feels like they wanted her to compete but it just can't unless she's dealing with more than 3 at any point. Not to mention that Eyja hasn't even gotten her module yet, so she might outpace her even further. I personally would have preferred the -8 on Dusk so I could place her a lot sooner or in dp-lacking matches.

@Shadow 600 It’s pretty even depending on the situation. Xusuy made a video a while back basically comparing their outputs. Iirc, Dusk wins when there’s more enemies or when the enemy has higher res, otherwise eyja wins.

dp cost isn't really a priority, i would ditch all of this shit for pure ASPD buff module, maybe make it 2.2 sec instead of the ridiculous 2.9 sec. and range increases benefits her s1 the most, when immediately there's more than 2 or 3 enemies her s1 will have better efficiency and dps than eyja no matter the fck is with her res debuff, it doesn't matter.

If people can find a way to bring Chalter, Mudrock and Ifrit on field cause of the better damage they can find a way to bring Dusk. Her S1 is just > Eyja S2 in every way at this point. Like it's not even a contest. That being said, casters are kinda mediocre in general. They have no way of countering heavy res enemies besides Ifrit and Goldenglow. There's a reason why sniper only clears are far more ubiquitous.

I am quite disappointed with both of the modules. AOE casters in general suffer from not one or two, but several problems with the archetype. These problems include (In no particular order): DP cost, SP cost/Skill uptime, DPS, and range. Let's talk in the order from minor to big problems. First is range, although there are times where the range can really make a difference, like being able to reach that one tile to kill a drone or ground enemies, they don't happen often so this problem to me is considered too niche to consider. Next problem, Damage. Here we will be getting into the really impactful ones. AOE casters are known for having less DPS compared to their single target counterparts, which sort of makes sense since AOE's point being killing hordes of enemies that would overwhelm single target casters. But their DPS is just overwhelmingly low, and even if the argument of them having a higher attack stat than single target, my Lv 70 Dusk at max trust can kill a red slug. This is a problem when you consider that Eyja, a single target caster of the same rarity, has her 2nd skill which increases her attack to 310% in an area of her attack and decreases enemy resistance to arts for a duration. So a single target caster can do the job of an AOE caster but better? most of the time yes. This means the archetype has a problem with the attack, either they can buff attack stat or the much better option of attack speed or even better both. But that's the last one we have. Introducing the thing you might have noticed when you started playing the game with AOE casters for the first time, They are bloody expensive to place down. Eyja costs 21 DP to place, while Lava costs a whole 9 more with 30 DP cost. This means one of your main sources of damage will take longer to arrive, and will also delay other operators that you plan to place in the battlefield. This won't be a big deal in lower general content, but from mid to high they will become more and more apparent and you will be rubbed on it more. Last but not least, SP cost and Skill uptime. Sp costs for Dusk's and Mostima's skills are very high. Dusk’s skill 3 and Mostimas’s 2nd and 3rd skill are very expensive. All of them need a lower SP cost for their skills, and in my opinion this is one of the biggest problems, right next to the DPS problem. In short, if they were to go for a buff or another try in the module route, They should have Increased DPS (in both base attack and attack speed), SP cost reduction and longer skill uptime, and lastly less DP cost. This is a lot of buffs so i would prefer if HG would just not make it complicated and change the stats directly, with probable future modules increasing those buffs.

I don't want to debate with my fellow Dokutah so..., well idk if you a Dusk simp or not, but personally i also love her, i E2M9 her immediately after i got her on EN Server although i know she will not always on my main team and on high risk CC team. I accepted the fact that yeah AoE Caster Archetype is dead maybe it can be revived somehow by 2nd Phased Module or a Chalter "broken" level operator but how long? And how many "powerful" operator we get until then? Who knows? Also don't hate to much on Passenger just because he's a male really like even Passenger have a place to shine like Roguelike for example, and he's just better after getting a module.

Eeee, chen is the only one with that and i hope she is the last. The problem really is it feels like the one in charge of the module system doesn't play the game. Yes there are useful modules but MAJORITY of them are questionable. Why tf would W and shirayuki want that module, what tf does the extra range of dusk even do for it to be considered a relevant upgrade. Also flamebringer and franka having their modules swapped will improve them more but look how they easily butchered that and its obvious if you know how their kit works. Seriously wtf.

The initial summoner modules were so genuinely useful and gave me really high hopes, but the rest have been... disappointing to say the least. Skadi's was good though. Isn't the point of AoE snipers with their insane range to hit targets BEFORE they each your operators? What's the point of mere 10% extra damage against blocked targets. Shotgun snipers are usually better suited at that.

@@NerdgearSama @Nerdgear there are many flaw on splash caster archaetype, mainly high dp cost, short range, high sp cost and slow attack speed. Mostima mitigate dp cost and aspd slightly with her module, dusk on the other hand got core caster range without dp reduction. I'm honestly hoping for bigger range in hope it will elevate aoe caster value which is already low cuz eyja.

@@cefrinaldi8060 To be fair, Dusk is already strong for her Archetype (She's just the better Mostima). Her kit are quite strong as a Dokutah who personally uses her (while also M9-ing her), it's just the archetype is what's holding her back. I can't even compare her between her and Eyja because their roles are different (One is for Crowd-Control with decent-dps, and other one is just straight up heavy-armor shredder and boss killer). What's your point exactly about giving her Sniper Range when her S2 exists for that reason? She didn't need the -8 DP Cost (although I kinda wish she did had that treatment ngl, but with +1 Block range seems okay for me) because she was already strong to begin with. Mostima needed the -8 DP Cost because no one wants to deploy an expensive Operator just for Crowd Control that has low active duration while also fixing her S3 by adding +5 ASPD to finish the last hit (9 hits in total instead of 8 with S3M0 only). Dusk's S2 becomes sniper range while lasting about 17-20 seconds and the cooldown has fair uptime, as for her S3's range expands bigger while lasting about 1 minute to compensate the long-cooldown while Mostima's S3 lasting about 26 seconds and has longer cooldown than Dusk's S3, and her S2 only lasts about 7 seconds and has a bit long-cooldown is unfair. Plus the biggest mistake you had was having high hopes for HG to "fix" the AoE Casters.

@@NerdgearSama sniper range would benefit her s1 the most which is the best for main dps work especially on choke point, that way she can hit on 3×5 tile instead of just 3x4 like usual sniper range bcs her s1 got 3×3 size. but the most important buff is ASPD, 2.9 sec is just focking too ridiculous

Kinda wished for an ASPD module for Mostima... like plus 15 or 20 ASPD and she could be more usable... she is my fav unit in the game but she really gets outshined by chalter due to obvious reasons... but less dp is better than nothing...

I mean the support and CC qualities always made her one of the better AoE Casters to begin with. I seriously can't even remember when was the last time I used somebody from that archetype who _wasn't_ her or Dusk...

She is still usable even without the module. She has a high attack with her s3 but low DPS because of her attack interval. I usually use her s2 for CC. The Dp is not the problem it is the long skill cooldowns with low up-times. The Dp can be easily solve by Myrtle archetype.

Id say this is a pretty solid buff. Mostima was never bad, she has powerful wide ranged cc abilities and a very strong support skill for characters like Eyja or Amiya, so the -8 dp lets her come out earlier to start charging her s2/s3 sooner, and to start giving her skill aura buff. She mostly just doesn't see play because as powerful as her cc is, she doesn't play into our current helidrop/infinite duration skill meta, so a lot of people and content creators just don't bother.

Let me put it like this - Mosti and Dusk are the only AoE Casters I actually use. Literally can't even remember when was the last time I unbenched anyone else of this archetype. 'Stima has all the baseline DPS issues the type suffers (Dusk's kit fixes those) but she's excellent support and CC; her S2 has come in handy on several occasions for hard locking particularly troublesome enemies in a killzone. ...and for less challenging content, well, S3 is just _cool as fuck._ :P

@@hermanwillem7057 Given how Arts damage works low ASPD isn't _inherently_ a problem so long it's backed up by sufficiently high Atk and ability multis - particularly with proper AoE as there it doesn't matter if the initial target selected is some weeny trashmob that gets comically overkilled (compare Charge Casters who will happily waste their slow heavy _single-target_ shots on rando whatevers). This is basically the whole reason Dusk is, arguably, the best of the lot - her kit can stack so much Atk and skill multipliers and variously increased AoE that the long intervals _don't really matter._ (Stealing Gitano's main selling point and deadass doing it better or being able to flood the field with pseudo summons certainly don't hurt.) The issue with the rest is they can't compensate for their intervals like that and are to varying degrees overcosted to boot. You'll still *use* them if needed, ofc, because area Arts damage is genuinely handy or even necessary often enough, but there's always that nagging feeling that you're not quite getting your DPs' worth.

@@broadbandislife wasn't on the reserve? since arts would do damage no matter how high the res is (not 90 or 95 ofc) aspd is what would benefit them the most even if they have low damage (examples ceobe or click, well they don't have low damage but their aspd is the miracle work, and maybe the stun). i wouldn't even bought it that far, just look at mos s3 which is definitely her dps source in her crowd control nature, ppl wouldn't say "oh the enemies got high af def maybe I'll use mos instead of SA" bcs even if she got high arts damage on s3, it is still just 8 hits!! compared to SA who can hit 25ish times, i compare them bcs the range and ability for helidrop. yes you could say they would consider eyja s2 instead, but that doesn't mean mos s3 is instantly worst no matter what tweak does to her. and HG stupidly gave her 27 sec instead 30 sec in s3, i dont fcking know WHY IT'S 27 FCKNG SEC. what's the harm to let her atk one more time. and the difference between st and aoe aspd is just depressing, 1.6 vs 2.9, there's no justification for that.

@@hermanwillem7057 For _X_ amount of *total arts damage within given amount of time* (ie. DPS) _a_ amount of Resist will cut *exactly* the same amount irrespective of how many separate portions it gets doled out in. (This is the defining difference between normal and Arts damage.) Hence why it doesn't as-such matter how fast the Caster attacks - so long as their *total* output is high enough. That's the rub - the outlier of Dusk aside AoE Casters by and large don't have enough _total DPS output._ Whether that should be fixed by improving their raw Atk numbers and multipliers or ASPD - or some combination thereof - is largely distinction without difference because the end result would fundamentally be the same as far as the maths go.

they should have made the modules do this in my opinion: when mostima's skill is active, attacks hit twice with the second attack dealing 50% dmg and not applying slow or push effect when dusk's skill is active, attacks hit twice with the second attack dealing 50% dmg and not summoning freeling or when mostima's skill 2 ends, all surviving non-boss enemies are teleported to where they were 10 seconds ago and are unable to attack until they take dmg when dusk's skill 1 is selected, redeployment time -60%, dp cos -15, +50%dmg for 20 seconds and she will gain 5 skill charges on deployment

The problem with this is that it isnt lore accurate bc Mostima cant stop time let alone time travel. She uses her art to mess up people perception of time, makes their nervous system slower so informations from the brain will take more time to travel through the entire body or stop them entirely. Also your fix is a bit too broken for a balance play

As for the my module ideas, ik most of them are pretty overpowered but the first one would actually not be unreasonable. I have both mostima and dusk in my account and the problem I run into with them is that there really isn't much of a use for them. Especially mostima, her skills take forever to charge and her damage is very underwhelming for a 6* op that costs over 30 dp. Besides, her S3 hits only 8 times over the entire duration and her S2 hits 7 times over the entire duration. An extra 50% dmg would be good but not broken. As comparison, SA does his schwings 22 times during his skill and out-performs mostima's S3 in almost every situation. Her S2 can come in handy sometimes but it costs 50 dp for 7 seconds of stun and relatively low damage.

Nah. _She_ never gave me that "less bang for your buck" feeling AoE Casters are sadly prone to; cranky painter dragon has stronk kit that deals with most of the archetype's problems. 'Stima is the second best of the lot (she's gr8 support and CC) and already has some cost-efficiency issues - the price cut substantially alleviates those which is good.

This is highly disappointing, I thought this module would at least fix them or make them better. I mean the range and less dp cost is nice but they could have done better than that. Aoe casters are my favorite, it's so sad to see them still be unmanageable to use.

Yeah, Dusk looks pretty decent. Unfortunately I don't have her. Mostima needs better skill uptimes not a DP cost reduction. Man, such a cool character yet she's one of the worst in terms of gameplay. HG y'all created Chalter ffs, show some love for Mostima too.

People seem to have this inane idea that because Bagpipe's Module is disproportionately better than most other Modules, all Modules need to be absurdly powerful. If you really expected Modules to solve all the problems that AoE Casters had, than quite frankly, that's on you. Modules are not going to make an obsolete archetype suddenly become meta. They aren't meant to be like that. AoE Casters were never going to become good because of Modules. Also, I find it funny that people complained that AoE Casters cost too much, but when HG reduces their cost _by 8,_ it still isn't enough, now people are saying "cost wasn't the problem". Same thing can be said about range too, although to a slightly lesser extent. Moving on to AoE Snipers. I admit, Shirayuki is poorly thought out, but complaining about W getting more damage is bizarre to me, and I say this as a W simp. Maybe I'm the weirdo for being able to temper my expectations and not say dumb shit like "Fartooth will powercreep Schwarz" _before Fartooth even released,_ but I was going to be satisfied with W's Module even if it was only +50ATK, because more damage is great. The extra 10% to blocked enemies is just that, extra. Is it counterintuitive? Maybe, but it's more damage regardless. Finally, complaining that HP increases on ranged Operators is worthless. Do me a favor: start counting how many times your Operators barely survive and/or barely die, then come back and tell me HP is worthless. And before anyone says "HP still isn't as good as ASPD or ATK!" I never said it was. Realistically, ASPD or ATK is probably still better, but HP is not worthless like some people make it out to be.

I think the fact that these showcases only used very old maps with no particularly complicated gimmicks (or rather, no gimmicks at all...) is rather telling about how "good" these modules really are. Range extension on the unit thath as TWO skills that extend range? Really? Sure, the DP cost reduction on Mostima is nice, but she has too many other, bigger issues that prevent her from being particularly viable... The whole flagpipe meta means that her high DP cost is only a huge issue in high-risk CC, and we don't need literally every unit to be viable there of all places...
