A quick and short tutorial to show users how to enable the advanced ballistics module of the ACE 3 mod for Arma 3.
Run this code in the editor debug menu to make sure advanced ballistics is enabled -

I should've included that you need to spawn two more modules - ACE_interaction and FRIES_tools - ACE is mostly modular so you basically select what modules you want and create them for your mission.

Why can I not use the items in edit mode? When I start a scenario I can not use any of the items that goes with. For an example I can not use the Kestrel 45000NV. Just started playing 2 days ago, and don't know mutch about how to modd and all that.

For sniper rifles the advanced ballistics are defaultly enabled without even spawning the module, right? Like all the default values in the other ACE modules are always set, even if you don't spawn it

No, you always have to spawn the module or advanced ballistics isn't enabled at all, this is what throws so many people off. They think a 2500 meter shot is easy, in vanilla arma or ACE, but they most likely didnt use Advanced Ballistics at all.

Whenever I add the Advanced Ballistics module in the editor I get a "author/ is not a value" when I start the mission and it does not say true. I do not get the option to set a true zero either. Do you have any suggestions?

Sounds like a CBA issue... Remove and download new mods entirely...

Apparently the auto/ not being a value is due to the mission not having an author.. Do you know why the mod isn't working though? :(

Hmm I don't see the option to selectively enable AB? Did the devs change the options available?

I have only 4 options to choose when I choose ace 3, no advanced ballistics among them. got any idea why? the ace3 and cba files are in the arma 3 are enabled and placed in the game local file if that helps

Make sure you have the optional mod installed for ballistcs, read more here ace3mod.com/wiki/user/installation-guide.html

Thanks very much for this awesome tutorial! Really really helpful. I take it that this means, though, that we can't get ACE3 advanced ballistics to work in any of the steam missions we download, or globally across the whole map? Appreciate it!

It means you cannot enable advanced ballistics unless you create the map yourself, or ask the creator to put it in for you
