these guys and the Maccabian Jannisaries are the coolest looking guardsmen imo. also the Tempestus but idk if they count as guardsmen or not.

Ghaz Kul even participated and lost to these guys twice and having ghaz show up is already a lost cause.

When I first saw them, I was like “ok just a bunch of random soldiers in a world with tyranids and space marines they can’t be that strong” Just to learn that they got some of the biggest guns in the galaxy

Are there any novels where the steel Legion pulls off a classic breakthrough and rapid encirclement? That's supposedly what they specialize but in Hellsreach they were always on the defensive, it's an awesome story but that's kind of unfortunate.

If you're making an Imperial Guard regiment one thing to ask yourself is does the planet they come from send their best, or do they send their worst or do they just do what they can to "put bodies in uniforms."

Ever since the Horus Heresy (a big civil war a long time ago) the Imperial Army was divided into the Imperial Guard and Navy, but also reorganized the Guard into the regimental system. To sum it up, to prevent any one regiment from being too big of a threat in case they turn rogue each regiment has a speciality. Pure infantry regiments, pure tank regiments, pure artillery, etc, limiting their combined arms but this was expected to be made up for by each regiment supporting one another. As such, the idea of mixed or mechanized regiments is pretty taboo among the Guard and Imperium... with exceptions. The Armageddon Steel Legion has proved time and again their loyalty to the cause, but the constant need for troops to defend their homeworld from Orks and Daemons had given the Legion plenty of leeway when it came to the organization of their regiments and so the Armageddon Steel Legion is one of the few Regiments that are allowed to have truely combined arms formations rather than janky multi-regimental brigades.

I love the steel legion getting love i remember them being released before krieg and getting popular then krieg came out and basically wipes from history even though they were made first in the lore and game

And now, new lore leaks say that Angron is back to Armageddon for Chaos Invasion MK2: Electric Boogaloo (now in stores)! If this is true, I want Angron to have killed Yarrick and Gaz to f-king loose it on the Demon Primarch and go full Krork.

Steel Legion: The guys Sabaton sang STEEL COMMANDERS about. A very underrated IG Regiment that have been overshadowed by the Death Korps who even have a very similar Gas Mask and Trench coat cheek. In fact sometimes I think the DEATH KORPS kinda ripped of the Steel Legion in a lot of ways.

Sometime I feel like the Steel legion the brother of the Death korps sometimes due to how both of them dress for dangerous environments

I like 40k for the over the top satire. So the fact that the steel legion are just criminals given tanks and a rifle that then fight the ork whichever are even more ridiculous and they fight on a planet called Armageddon that is basically uninhabited is why they are my favorite regiment.

If they were the best of the gangs they would be elite past the abilities of any terminator?
