Vanessa you are SUCH a babe. I have watched so many videos on this stupid topic and not a single one has properly explained it. I FINALLY get it. My A levels are in less than a month - great timing. THANK YOU SO MUCH

The stage micrometer will look bigger if you are on a high magnification while the eyepiece graticule size will always look the same. Hope that helps??

Great video! I have one question though. In other videos I have watched sometimes it would show the stage micrometer scale bigger than the eyepiece graticule scale but in this video its tiny I'm just a bit confused

The stage micrometer is 1mm = 1000 microns

The stage micrometer has 100 divisions on it, each one is 10 microns

@cte2940 The stage micrometer she is using is 0.1mm in length not 1mm. She is correct when explaining that each division is 1 micrometer. Misinterpreting the size of the stage micrometer is a common mistake students make when using this equipment.
