❤️ Mother Natalia. As a new Catholic (I'm a convert), she has been one of the people I had watched on this journey of becoming Catholic. Beautiful person.

It's interesting, converts make a good example. I know 2 other converts (2 men in their 30s) at my parish. We all seem to take the Church and sacraments very seriously. And people notice.

My dear little sister, I find it so sweet and vonerable your heart and mind is, the way you share your faith is so refreshing to the heart, it's so awesome how I can feel you figuring it out right there on the spot, it so genuine, generous of you to put yourself out there, you encourage me in my growth in the faith, isn't it wonderful to be always learning, as we give more of ourselves more and more to the Holy Spirit, and become less and less, the doors of wisdom open up to us and our faith becomes stronger and new, I love your faith, it's so pure and innocent, so refreshing, thank you for saying yes to Jesus and thank you Matt for giving her this platform. God bless you and mother Mary hold your heart.

Love is fanatical. Anything short of that level of radical devotion is not love, but a secularized counterfeit of the genuine article. The authentic version of love, and how it distinguishes itself from the nonsense peddled in popular media - where love is just a euphemism for sexual attraction and romantic attachments - is that a true love entails the willingness to sacrifice for the benefit of the one you love. Abraham's unwavering commitment in the face of losing his son, and Jesus's dedication to giving his life for us and to suffer for us is the true love. Thank you, Mother Natalia, for beautifully elucidating the power of true love, through Abraham's story. Thank you, also, for radiating that divine love through the life you live.

Abraham had four wives. His first wife was the sister of the woman he wanted to marry and had worked for for seven years. So this example of 'true love' got into bed with her sister and did not notice who he was in bed with until the next morning. His other two wives were the sisters slaves and had no say in the matter. Romantic, eh?

These days it's not uncommon for a dear family member or an old friend to ask us what we think about a sinful matter that they consider a right, like taking the life of the unborn or the corrupt "marriage", and like mother Natalia said we should be incredibly kind to them but tell them the truth. The 80 or 90 years at most that we'll spend on this earth is nothing but a fleeting moment relative to eternity or even the age of an old tree, and selling our souls to obtain fake comfort during that brief earthly stay is a terrible deal. May the good Lord bless you, mother 🙏

Agree fully. If anyone - relative or friend - asks me to tell them the truth, and I know the truth told them can make them angry/vengeful/defensive. If they know how to retaliate in a hurtful way - I let them. Why? Because I know that the Truth told to them has hit home with them. Its not easy to tell the Truth which endangers a relationship. But "tough love" comes from a good place.

It's providential, because for the past few months I've been thinking of Abraham off and on, thinking "why did God ask him to kill his own son? God must have just been working through Abraham's mental illness." But this explanation makes a whole lot more sense. He wasn't crazy - he had a super amount of faith

There is a former friend I still struggle to forgive. Her harsh words wounded me. We need to be humble when receiving corrections. Certain personality types seem to gain pleasure from exposing other people's flaws or humbling others with the truth. Even how she talked about others was aggressive and mean. In her mind, all that mattered was that she was right and telling the truth or making an honest observation. Please pray I can forgive and forget. I do not want to remember at all.
@seamusweber8298
@seamusweber8298 Месяц назад
Yes, there are many people who seem to have a need, or want, to be correct about everything. And that need, want, can sometimes cause them to say or do uncharitable things - especially when confronted by the Truth. Their indignation at being found to have not been correct, manifests itself in retaliation/revenge. The find it hard to be charitable. And most of us have this flaw to a greater/lesser degree. Its a hard flaw to overcome and it is a hard flaw to makes allowances for as well. But we must try not to go with our gut reaction to seek retaliation/revenge, and onbthe other side we must not seek to be always "right" in order to prove a point. We need to try better to overcome ourselves and overcome our gut reactions.

@@seamusweber8298 I still need to forgive her. You are right that most of us struggle with tendency to some degree. It can be difficult when you perceive this person as nitpicking you or trying to feel superior by proving you wrong. Their supposed harmless teasing honestly feels like a jab.

15:56 Sweet soul sister Christian,by God’s love, by All things Holy & Pure, by the Priesthood Authority, MARRY THE FOOL! If he be a chaste man of God, he will be a great husband for you and father to your children. Regardless, with all love and respect, at least, pray I may do what is right so I may find and keep a bride as spiritually beautiful as you, Mother Natalia. 🙏🏼

Does it matter to have descendants as many as the stars ? Even if it does, does it matter if this promised only after he has died ?
@alphacause
@alphacause Месяц назад
That is a good question. In ancient cultures having many descendant, especially male progeny, carried with it a certain prestige. Beyond that shallow preoccupation with status, having many descendants ensured some part of you lives on past your earthly existence, giving your short earthly existence greater significance and generational resonance. Finally, from a point of spiritual significance, the more descendants you have the more you are serving the Lord, indirectly, by those children walking in the way of the Lord.

Mother Natalia, I'm sure that you are a good person. However, taking insight from the life of Abraham seems misguided. Even if Abraham believed Isaac was going to be resurrected, that doesn't make it any better. He would still have killed his own son. Abraham's faith is not something we should see as worthy of praise.
@the_journeyman_project
@the_journeyman_project Месяц назад
Whether you agree with Abraham or not this story is central to understanding religious faith. It has been debated for centuries and was instrumental in the development of existentialism.

Dude, Hebrews 11.
@igorlopes7589
@igorlopes7589 Месяц назад
The Author of Hebrews 11 praises Abraham's faith, so I would rather agree with Him than you.
@zacharyeicher390
@zacharyeicher390 Месяц назад
@JLAvila850 @igorlopes7589 Yes, the author praises Abraham for his faith in Hebrews 11...and? Of course we would expect the Bible to praise the faith of Abraham. The problem is that Abraham's faith in Isaac's resurrection led him to almost kill his own son. What is praise worthy about this? If God told you to kill your son, would you do it?
