Really not that great of a game

I'm not sure what I would like more between an Ashen2 and a completely different project. The lack of support (or QoL) in Ashen made me less eager to have a followup game. Although this situation may have been outside of the devs' control, you can't really know what happened behind the scene...

@@Anemion oh and u were right all along, i forgot to mention that, when u have enemies selected it is indeed much easier to dodge attacks, expecially in the boss fights! Gl on your runs as well! Thank you! :)

@@def1ance Playing without lock on was a good thing in DS1 iirc. I remember fighting like this back when I played it a lot.

Finding spear throws setups was my favorite part of routing in this game. It's actually not that hard to find or to reproduce consistently but the result always does look impressive indeed. This run doesn't show all that is possible to do with them, the "All Quest%" route has one or two additional tricks.

Thanks ! A good run but a perfectible one. Played safe against Sissna, cost me about 40 seconds.

I'm using both a controller and a mouse. Some of the spear throws are a lot easier/faster to do with a mouse, while others require more precise aiming for which I use a controller (for moving the camera vertically). The menu kinda has a bit of visual lag but still takes inputs without delays or drops. So if you know what the button combinaisons are you can go faster than what the game displays. (Select, RB, down, A, up, A, Select, for disabling/enabling Jokell.)

These are manual splits. We have a load remover using Livesplit.

There's an exploit at the talisman bench. When you buy something it asks you for a confirmation. Before accepting simply change displayed category using L1/R1, then confirm. This way you can buy Relics for the price of Talismans (or Talismans for the price of a Relic)

You save&quit after picking up the item. When loading back into the game you'll be at the last ritual stone you touched. Last thing, the game has long fade-ins after loading but it doesn't prevent you from moving. With pratice, you know where to go without looking.

Simply equip two weapons (or two offhands) and swap between them while walking up a slope. It only works walking upward

In Ashen, jumping is barely faster than running. The main upside is it allows to regenerate stamina sooner therefore makes stamina management a lot easier, specially in Children of Sissna.
