The time displayed by the savefile is a bit messed up in the context of a speedrun because it rollbacks whenever you die/reload a checkpoint. This was probably intented by the devs to help people complete the 2hours achievement but it can also make a slower run look better than a faster run. The timer also stops during certain cutscenes (hence why it's only 43:xx and not 47:xx) and never counts the final walk when we leave control room after the roof opening CS. That's why we use a separate timer that only stops during actual loadings
This game is shit. Its stupid difficult for no reason. Its jank af. I know what yall gonna say, git gud. Ive 100% bloodborne, sekiro, nioh, dark souls but this game is just way too much. Its difficult for no reason smh
I hope you're referring to CoS difficulty which is a rather imbalanced gamemode that would be the equivalent of trying to beat the games you mentioned at low level. To me, Ashen's main issue as a souls game is that it fails at teaching the souls basics. So I simply cannot understand how someone claiming to be a souls veteran can struggle or complain about the base difficulty of this game. Every mob can be defeated with AI and spamming R1, bosses don't have that many patterns and are easy to abuse. Is the last boss overtuned compared to the rest of the game ? Yes... but compared to main souls bosses it's not harder than Abyss watcher in DS3 for say. And yet I've seen so many souls vet' go in disrespecting this game by turning off AI, skipping every forms of upgrade, not using the lock-in system, and then pikachu face at the first difficulty spike.
Instead of letting ourselves getting pushed through the wall after triggering SP, there are a few frames to jump on ground. It doesn't change the way we activate the glitch
This is amazing. Never seen a speedrun of this game before. Falling into the prison from the nightclub is crazy. And I love how you rescue b12 while still having the backpack thing on you
YES!! 1:47:15 all said and done. TY!! Especially after B12 rescue is what got me most of all, until I noticed your navigating to the box he was trapped in during the cutscene. Saved my little kitty bacon, big time.
Try 2 and taking it in stages by quitting the save points. Sometimes prepping/chaining jumps not always on point. Slums PT2 at 36min 41sec. Going for the goal, not the record. First play I'd only missed like 2 or 3 memories/extras. Not bad for a noob at the game.
So close, first attempt was 2h 2m. I did miss a couple of attempts, especially during "Jail" and escape. One question: when pausing the game to take a break, is it best to quit? Seems like the clock keeps running behind the scenes.
The time displayed on your savefile is the one that matters for that achievement. It is different than real time because it pauses when you pause the game and rewinds if you die/reload checkpoint
@@Anemion I tried a reload, did it a lot faster and it was listed as 2hrs 8mins...so cumulative. It explains the retries for B12 being done as fast as possible...time adds up and does not rewind. 😐 Bummer, but now I know that if I need to consult the vid for a particular problem section, quit the current save to stop the clock running. Well done on the vid!! In the sewer level, jumping up on the power handle and zapping the Zurks...I LOLed and thought "Dang, that was pretty slick and impressive thinking".
Some of them are patched on the latest versions but the devs gave us a way to download the old patch. This category features glitches but as usual we also have glitchless runs

How did you get past the window so fast at 24:50? When I tried to skip B-12’s dialogue super fast here he couldn’t get the code right until I slowly went through the dialogue.
The rules used to be that you had to deliver the gold hoarder skull. It was later changed to match the end of the tall tale itself; when the toast for completing a Tall Tale is displayed. Selling the skull isn't part of that, even though there are commendations tied to it. The actual end is on the GH's death rather than the toast itself because there's can be a random delay between his death and the start of the cutscene, and the moderators didn't wanted it to be a factor in the final time
