@@lovepet4565 I don't know but when he first took the witness stand he was asked " Isn't it true that you have been convicted of a felony " and he answered " Yes "
Clearly this whole court system is strapped for cash. One prosecutor in a first degree murder case and a three day time limit with a judge constantly worried about staying on course. The judge even mentions outdated snacks for jurors and personally going to Publix herself after court procedures to pick some fresh one up. What a crew down there in the pan handle.
Edit: not hating on him, he could be a totally rad guy, but SHE is ridiculous. Like “hi nice to meet you, here’s a boat, a bike, and lemme take care of your power bill” like you knoooowwww he probably was never truly interested
@@maggiemoo578 Yeah I was just gonna say, his felonies are pretty minor offenses, nothing like murder...driving on a revoked licence and buying stolen goods, those are like F6-7 felonies which is the lowest felony you can get. Just cause people have felonies doesn't make them bad people. Statistcally most people commit a type of "crime" at least once in their lifetime and never get caught and many times don't even know it (because they are such minor offences)
How about the second witness... Felon, GRAND theft. Third witness... A barmaid, knockin' back the shots until she's rat-arsed, ON duty. What a crowd. I'm glad now that I subscribed to Law & Crime Network.

I am a totally different person compared to this guy. I am nice, handsome and loyal without any shady businesses. So mandi lee, perhaps your getting the urge now to buy me a motorcycle , boat and pay for some bills i have? I am really nice , trust me :-)
Everytime I hear Beatty speak I can hear David Lee Roth singing in my right ear..... 🎤 “I’m just a gigolo and everywhere I go people know the part I’m playing”......😂😂😂
Her body language throughout this trial says it all: GUILTY. She refuses to make eye contact, because she is so embarassed. She thought she was so smart and would never get caught.
Idk about the “not making eye contact” part. It works both ways. A narcissist will look at the victim straight forward and a victim may be to embarrassed to look at the accused. But i get what you’re saying now doubt. She’s guilty, very guilty
For me, it’s the body on property her cell phone put her at with the victim’s phone and that she was the last person who ever saw Taylor and that she stole her money and lied to everyone about everything… but that’s just me;@
Stix, the establishment where you can do cocaine at the bar, shots with the barkeep and purchase a semi-automatic any night of the week. Yeah baby!!!!!!

It's really not that unusual for bartenders to take a shot or 2 while on duty. They work long hours and it's the last profession that keep's it real for their industry. This bar seems like the wild west though. Lol
I don’t blame the witness’. They are trying to help. The day they witnessed these things taking place (Ashley saying she’d shoot someone because she’s too small to kill them, etc) they probably did not realize she was actually capable of something like this and didn’t realize they’d wind up being a witness to a murder.
I totally agree with you I read all these comments and can't figure out why people don't realize that this woman dragged him into a murder investigation a horrible crime who wouldn't be embarrassed to be on the witness stand she murdered a friend and he's the one that benefited from it I'm sure he feels pretty bad about it
He would probably rewind if he could. It's one thing to get gifts from someone you assume is loaded, but a totally different thing to know that someone got killed for it
I agree with you! Everyone in the comments demeaning the witnesses but honestly, how would they know this woman was an absolute evil monster? Who in the world would believe their friend or girlfriend, who showed no signs of anger to them personally, would be a murderer? I feel kinda bad for the guy she was showering with gifts. He seemed to be a nervous wreck on the stand.
Yes, he really wanted to rattle this witness from the outset. He started by emphasising the seriousness of her criminal conviction, ten years before, and continued to be aggressive. It wasn't a successful tactic. It made her dig in, instead of flustering her. He misread the witness.
@@therealbe Amen. Defense attorney- Wasn't it GRAND theft? Witness- I'm sorry, could you repeat that? Your client just massacred the jury and I couldn't hear you over all the screaming and gunfire.
That elder defence attorney was a total joke, so much so that he got his clients name wrong twice in two successive questions. You’re on trial for murder and you’re defended by a real life Mr Magoo. Totally embarrassing to watch.
@@Scrapfan Ha ha ha , so funny, he was useless if she had had the prosecution lawyer and they had had them two idiots she may well have won, didnt her family meet with him beforehand for heavens sake?? He was sweet but crap (excuse my language) They probably paid a fortune for him as well, she was an only child and her parents are really really wealthy, I believe their house alone was valued 6 years ago at 900,000$ when thvey cosidered moving, her they also own that business I would assume she would inherit a fortune, and yet she lost her life over 34000$, she cold of borrowed that from her parents or told taylor she had had it stolen and paed her back week by week, I mean its better than being dead, I wouldnr have the have guts to murder a madman let alone my friend, and why did she tell her friends she was going to kill her for gods sake !!!
#1 rule of cross examination - don't ask a question if you don't know the answer. The defense kept asking questions that further incriminated their client. Not confidence inspiring.
Yes! And I'm sure the elderly of the two defense atty's was trying to listen to the witness testimony before his turn but you'd think he could multi-task while he sits there because fumbling through his papers at the podium made him appear disorganized. I think Ashley thought she had an advantage having these two defense attys and I wonder how far into the trial she started to realize they weren't helping her cause.
I'm sure this is uncomfortable for him but just like her other former friends, most people draw the line at murder. She put them all in extremely difficult positions and they had no choice but to tell the truth. Obviously they didn't know what she was capable of doing.
Lmao, it's great when she are planting seeds of doubts and actually follow up a question that implies truth on a.silver platter to what the prosecutor was just trying g to prove. That happened in the case where the 2 druggie parents put the newborn baby in a milk crate and lowered into a well.
I'm in awe that Ashley McArthur is busy in 2016/2017 partying / chasing boys etc and yet we hear she has a daughter - that is apparently being raised by the grandparents - that is evidence in itself -how can you not bring up your baby and take partying /boy chasing as the priority?
Everyone loves the judge but I think she can be quite rude. She chooses who she’s nice to in that courtroom. If we can hear Mr Beatty just fine on video then they should’ve been able to hear him clearly as well. He was nervous. Why be so rude to him? He didn’t know she was so psycho as to murder her friend for him?
I know everyone needs help sometimes. Hell I need help. But a business owning man who takes money and lavish gifts right from the start from his girlfriend, isn’t a real man to me. He seems like a dirty user. I can imagine his sob stories to her and romancing her anyway he could so sugar mama would keep paying & buying.
I think that he didn't have a choice. She forced those things on him. So she could lord it over him when she wanted something from him. So she could go out on a boat. So he could take her on bike rides,
Sub stories ? What sub story do you think he gave her for her to buy him a 30,000 boat ? She was selfish !!!! Didn’t care about anything but pleasing Brandon !!! She’s a monster !!!
It's a bloody joke! Blankets and the judge proclaiming the jury cant talk about the case during breaks but can talk about how the judge is wonderful.. So unprofessional. This woman is obviously guilty, but I'm sure the judge will be acting the same in her cases with innocent people. Imagine sitting in front of her, you're innocent, and she's like, oo I hope it's lasagne for lunch..
This judge is unbelievable unprofessional! Legal experts said she rushed the lawyers and witnesses so badly througout, the defence would have been entitled to call a mistrial. They could easily claim their client didn't get a fair trial. It's only because it was such a slam-dunk case that they didn't!
@@glamdolly30 when she told the witnesses only answer yes or no to the defense and don’t give extra info they aren’t asking..,it was very weird. I’ve never heard a judge say that.
@@TiffanyMaryJean Very weird! I think she's a control freak and definitely narcissistic. She wasted a lot of time and held up proceedings, telling everyone else not to do precisely that! And those tortuous, unfunny anecdotes she told to 'entertain' the jury during breaks had no punchline and were frankly embarrassing! Her terrible make up and badly dyed hair were a clue that she's not all there. I think she could well be the cause of a few mistrials in future. Let's hope she gets struck off as a judge!
@@glamdolly30 exactly. I saw in earlier days of this trial in the comments that ppl were praising her..I was dumb founded. She appeared as though she was playing her role up for the cameras. If I were the defense and the person on trial I would be making a huge deal of her actions. And only wanting to go 5 days.. it’s a huge murder trial why set a clock on the trail..seems off to me. The jokes were uncomfortable and it seemed like she wanted attention. She wanted to be a star Monday-Friday. I was so annoyed with that woman!
My question is, will Brandon Beatty... the guy who was bestowed tens of thousands of dollars in gifts (ie, yacht, motorcycle, guns, etc) by Ashley McArthur... the man she was having an affair with behind her husband's (Zach) back... funded with stolen money of Taylor Wright's, have to give the money back to Wright's widow husband? Or will Beatty keep it?!
I’ve been on a jury and I wish I had a judge who is so kind and caring. The judge I had couldn’t care less if we were comfortable or how we felt. I really like this judge. She rocks!

I don’t see the sugar baby with a huge beard sticking by his sugar mamas side while she’s in prison. True love there... there’s no way he was using her, right?!
You can tell that he just does NOT want to be there and doesn’t want to be included in this crazy BS. I keep thinking he has head tilted and blocked like that so he doesn’t have to see her at all.
Definitely painful. He still appreciates absolutely everything he got from her and wishes they could still be plowing but he has to testify in her homocide case and this is probably the last time they'll ever be face to face
Omg, 28:50 the defence attorney refers to Ashley McArthur as Ashley Taylor, and then in the next sentence calls her Ashley Wright - the victim’s first and last names. Probably a good time for the defendant to look for a new lawyer.
@@nicoleweiler1105: There was certainly overwhelming evidence against her and she was subsequently convicted but you know you’re in deep trouble when your lawyer doesn’t even know who you are. I would post the guy’s name as a warning to others but the Tube doesn’t like that kind of thing. Anyway, I wouldn’t hire him to do the paperwork for a simple house purchase, lol. He’d get the address wrong.
The judge is rude! She could be nicer so the witnesses wouldn't get even more nervous but she just has a rude tone like no other judge I've ever watched. Sad!
You know what is REALLY SCARY?...Ashley's education is in forensics and she worked in law enforcement....what the hell...did she forget all her training..what an idiot...the victim wasn't a very nice person but....doesn't deserve to be murdered ...but the scary thing is that there's a lot of stupid people who have been educated and then they are working in very important positions and lives at stake.
Omg three medical assistants who all first worked together as bartenders in Pensicola FL. Does anyone think there might be a good chance there’s a local Medicare business close by needing lots of assistants for billing!
I’m for being funny and all but this judge was completely over the top and full of herself. She at times tried to put attention on herself in a comical way. I’m not an attorney but I don’t get why the witnesses weren’t allowed to elaborate at times just cutting them off. There’s no doubt that she is guilty but it would’ve been nice to hear some of their answers
The judge believes she's a riot. She told that story about the possum and her dog and thought everyone would love it. It fell flat like a bird turd in a punchbowl. She's full of herself.
39:50 that lawyer obviously hasn’t heard the saying ‘you catch more flies with honey’ He first throws out the ‘not theft but grand theft’ then talks to the witness like she’s just a POS who should have dates written down. How does getting called to testify automatically cause someone’s memory to recall an exact date? He should be more suspicious if she DID rattle dates out. If he treats witnesses like they’re the ones on trial, he’s not going to get far with them as we saw
Couldn’t imagine being on trial for my life and the judge putting a cap on my trial time. Especially on the sad cases of innocent people being prosecuted
I mentioned my understanding is that the concern is how long the jury is tied up with the trial. However, you are right. There is a need to balance things to from both perspectives, isn't there?
Well depending in what you mean by "running". She was stealing from the family business to support this louse. Thats why she is currently serving 7 years in prison for racketeering. That's also why she spent Taylor's money and had to kill her. She's an evil bitch. Period.
Everything happened for a reason but I'd be pissed with my defense team if I where Ashley. He keeps f'in up and he cant even get her name right! She's doomed anyway but this old man needs to retire asap!!!
After watching some felony trials lately, I've come to the conclusion that if you know you're guilty, you may as well just go for a plea deal instead of wasting time and money with getting any defense council. On cross, all they seem to do is parrot what the prosecution said during direct and that must only make their client's guilt even clearer to the jury.
yeah, I don't know how she thought she would get a good trial with these facts. I think they banked on discrediting the witnesses? Other people are just plain narcissist who can't admit fault such as Halderson and others don't get offered a deal because they need to be an example such as father and son racists McMichael. Some people get lucky, such as Rittenhouse, and maybe that's what this defendant is hoping too?
This case is oddly obsessed with asking witness what specific date something happened on even though it's 2 years ago and all the dates are documented already
Where would us courtroom hounds be without the great state of Florida!?!? I wonder if Dalia Dippilito and Denise Williams are friends down at the Florida Women’s Reception Center in Ocala? 😂
Witnesses are there to give the evidence they're asked for, in a structured manner. Witnesses cannot be allowed to ramble. There are strict rules of evidence that must be obeyed. If they are permitted to speak out of turn, it gives rise to constant objections from the opposing side, which wastes everybody's time, breaks the jury's concentration, and disrupts the Court. The judge is doing her job well.
@@mbd6054 Guess you haven't watched many criminal trials. I'm a former court reporter for national newspapers, and can tell you this judge's conduct is not normal or acceptable. Her professional peers, as well as journalists like myself, were appalled at her unprofessional haste and behaviour in court. Her priority at all times was not justice, but speed! She was very lucky the defendant in this case didn't call a mistrial after the verdict. If this judge continues in the same vein in future criminal proceedings, she will be sanctioned.
@@glamdolly30 Firstly, Judges never openly criticise their 'peer's' behaviour in Court, so if you have evidence of such, please furnish it. Journalists are not lawyers, and may publish opinion pieces, but their opinions have no standing, unless such articles emanate from established, trained, legal scholars. Despite your alleged extensive court experience, you do not appear to have any grasp of the rules of evidence. The judge avoided unnecessary objections, and allowed testimony to flow uninterrupted by hearsay. She conducted the trial in an efficient and professional manner. If you can point to just one single specific instance where she did something unethical, or illegal, please do so. There are no grounds for a mistrial.

Who designs these courtrooms? The microphones and projectors always seem to be in the wrong place! I haven't seen a trial yet where there hasn't been some problem with the equipment.
This is a good case. Ms. McArthur never looked up when her exhusband or exboyfriend was on the stand. The only time she looked up is when the judge was speaking with those two witnesses. Ms. McArthur is a trip.

From his body language I think so. I believe he's got his hand over his face to almost hide or shield himself. He probably felt she did so much for him and he felt almost disloyal testifying.
