I don't get how gay and straight people stress over the fact on how being gay IS NOT their choice, from the way people talk about that it seems like being gay is horrible and their forced. My friend thinks that sexuality is a choice and when we were arguing about it she said to my asexual friend 'but you choose to be asexual', they weren't on good terms after that as you would imagine.

When people say it's not a choice, they're not talking about an individual in which they love or a relationship they chose to be in(because for the most part, relationships with others are voluntary), they're talking about the general sexual attraction towards the same gender. People don't make a conscious choice for what sexually arouses them. People don't wake up and decide, "Today, I'm going to be sexually aroused exclusively by women" However, they can make the choice of whether or not to act on those desires and people can also choose how they react to others acting on desires that in no way effects them. Being straight isn't a choice either. Gay and straight people aren't 'stressing over homosexuality not being a choice,' they're telling bigots who try to discriminate against them based upon the belief that being sexually aroused by the same gender isn't a 'lifestyle choice.' If that didn't clear it up please feel free to ask for clarification.
