I would've thought Spawn 1 would have more slabs based on the fact of how many sold upon it's release. ASM 300 isn't exactly an affordable book compared to Spawn 1
ASM 300 is not an investment book. It's not rare. It will never go back up to the price it hit during Covid unless there is another black swan event. It's like hulk 181. I know people don't want to hear that but it's a hard truth.
@foxon172 If there was another Black Swan event I don't think people would get all that free money like they did last time or if they did they spend it more wisely like investing in stocks than comics, sportscards or crypto.
I love Venom as a character. Loved getting his trading card as a kid and glad I got his first appearance before the pandemic boom. Collect what you love and things will always work themselves out. Whether this new movie helps the comics in price or hurt it, Venom is such a beloved character by those who enjoyed him growing up that I don't think the price would ever drop to an alerting amount. That being said, not a fan of the first movie. I never saw the second, nor am I planning on watching the third. That trailer was so so so cheesy. I really hope I am wrong about the second and third movie. Thanks for the content Swagglehaus!
@@NDLCollectibles for the reason I plainly stated above -- because it's been a highly sought after key for decades, long before the movies came out, and will remain sought after as long as there's a market. The fact that we're talking about a book printed in 1988 that's more valuable, even on the low end, than most silver age and a lot of golden age books should tell you as much.

People still expecting anything from Sony?... ASM 300 is just a great book to own... buy it for that purpose... and the inevitable day the rights revert fo where they belong😂

If that Orwell and The Jury then Venom Lethal Protector 2 is a nice cheap book to pick up. Also Venom/Carnage 1 and 2 for Toxin and , Venom The Hunted 1 for the Xeno
ASM 300 has so much nostalgia behind it that any comic book collector will want it regardless of the movies. Edit: I also like the military aspect of this trailer so maybe we see Agent Venom and or a Space Venom at the end.
I agree with a previous commenter’s post about ASM 300, it was hot before the first live action venom . Movies/shows do not affect non modern keys. Of course its going to fluctuate

First venom film made a ton of cash. I didn’t like it either but JL film was a box office & critical disappointment & there was a public fallout between the director & Warner.
I am "No way am I spending $50 on ASM # 300!?!" years old. I didn't start collecting Marvel comics until shortly after McFarlane's first year on ASM, and by that point # 300 was already a wall book. I was a pre-teen with a $5 a week allowance, so anything over $10 for a single book was out of my price range. By the time I could afford to drop $100 on one comic book, it was out of my price range again multiple times over. Lowest I've seen it sell for recently was a little over $325 for a raw 9.0, which isn't bad given what it was selling for at it's peak, but even then I couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a comic that was published during my lifetime. In the meantime, I will continue to wait by the riverbed until the book comes to me at the perfect price.
Normally, I try to cap any major comic purchase at one-third of it's current FMV. If the value goes down, I'll still keep some margin of profit, and if it goes up then I've made a killing. Since I don't buy ultra high grade books (IMO, the perfect grade for a raw book is 9.2 - presents well, but isn't so perfect that I'd be afraid to read it) this method has served me well for filling holes in my collection. The most I've ever spent personally on a single comic book is $250, so if I saw a raw 9.2 ASM # 300 for that price I'd find a way to pull the trigger. $300 would be my absolute limit, and even then I'd have to rebalance my budget and beg my wife's forgiveness.
Hahaha! 10:50 - Ok, that's literally the only thing I have against CGC. Their service has had the unfortunate side effect of deflating what should be "acceptable" grades in the marketplace. 9.4 is NOT "lower grade." 9.4 is still Near Mint, people! Hahaha!
I seen this video and other videos on RU-vid review this before I seen the trailer for the movie. It’s like the quick and the dead if you not posting hours after the trailer drops you’re already too late.
I seem to be the only person who actually really likes these movies 😂😂😂 Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock has been the best casting choice since RDJ as Iron Man. People just like to take movies so seriously instead of unwinding for 90 minutes and shutting out the bullshit for the length of a picture.
What would be absolutely AMAZING would be if Sony could have created an All New Character for Venom to fight- and for fans to love the new villain so much they had to license it from Sony to put in their comics. Can you even imagine? Lol
Sony got a bit smart in that they finally said the heck with the story and throw as much cgi & greenscreen as possible. Not like these stories are compelling.
Some things that work beautifully in comics just don't translate to the big screen, no matter the effects budget. Some things should stay in comics alone. Venom is one such thing.
Movie looks fun, not a fan of Venom cracking so many jokes but I’ve already had my share of hate for Ms Marvel, She hulk, The Marvels, Secret Invasion, Madame web, and Morbius. So I can’t hate them all. As for the Venom keys I was fortunate enough to be a fan of Symbiotes since the 90s so I have all my Venom keys secured and regardless I won’t ever sell them.
Oh I'm sure you can hate them all. Just hang around online for an hour and you'll fill up with enough hatred to be against every film of every kind ever made. Hatred is the 21st century's most inexhaustible resource.
I must say that I might go see this in the movie theaters. There are very few comic related movies coming out this year and I may need to scratch the itch so to speak.
Madame Web got a sequel faster than I thought it would 🙃. Really, in my opinion, Venom was on track to be worse than the movie before it as most movies do, not just super hero ones (see the Godfather 3). What a bummer and let down of a franchise.
This movie won't move the needle much on the value of this book. Live action movies from Sony kills comic first appearance values. Its a ASM is a great book to have just beacuse Venom is a cool character.

Swaggle….you need to do more research before putting out videos like this. Yes, ASM 300 is the #1 slabbed book and it’s been a hot commodity since the 90s. The movies helped the book inflate in prices, it’s really the state of the market being reason for this book falling in prices. Also, if you’re wondering why there’s not more 9.9’s, it’s because CGC is now just starting to prescreen 9.9s. I guarantee there’s going to be hundreds if not thousands of 9.8 ASM being cracked and resubmitted for the 9.9 now that CGC slightly has their head outta their asses!
Those 9.9 ASM300 aren’t coming to the market any time soon, it’s been 7 years since the last one was put up. Those are in collector’s hands. If I had to estimate, a $60-80k book
I'm sorry everybody. The Venom movies are bad. They shouldn't b comedies. Has even one writer of the films ever read a Venom series? I was very excited for the 1st movie and was dissapointed, only saw the 2nd because of my Good Ol'Woody. That was a sad day for cinema. STREAM-BIOSIS!!!!!!
