I actually miss the feeling of playing a new game and knowing absolutely nothing about it. I actually went into Skyrim completely blind, never saw gameplay, reviews, didn't even know what the Elder Scrolls series was (I was 12 at the time, so go easy on me). It had a feeling of wonder that I had only experienced one time before, playing WoW for the first time, also knowing nothing about it (I was 8 at this time, so had even less awareness of the gaming world). Today, I simply can't get that kind of experience from a game anymore, as I'm always watching reviews, gameplay demos, anything that can help me formulate my opinion on how much I like it, resulting in the feeling of discovery to be dampened. I feel this is mostly due to companies pulling "sneakies" on their customers these days, promising one thing, delivering another. Simply can't trust companies anymore.
@@whennever8202 I'm saying let's all have a fucking breather and assess the situation. Witcher 3 is better. BUT. RDR2 has done something no game has ever done to me before- wanting to complete while not wanting to. That entire game is a depressing realisation that the more you progress, the worse things get.
Witcher 3 is easily the single most immersive story driven RPG I've ever played. And the HoT DLC was beyond awesome though short, but had such an amazing villain. A bonus for me is how much of the monsters are based on folk lore.
Both the DLC's were amazing to me. They both had their own fantastic atmosphere. HoT had a more impressive story but I think the other dlc was more fun, what with the fairyland and such.
Eder Rabanales yeah blood and wine was so amazing. That dlc could have been a game for itself. And the colours and graphics in blood and wine. Just amazing
I loved witcher 3, and a lot of other single player games. But warfronts are absolute garbage, the only thing I can compare them to is lfr without bosses, just killing lfr trash mobs. Also I got a 390 piece from a warfront, I raid mythic and that piece was the highest ilvl I ever got, and it came from shitty warfronts, so the problem for me is that they give gear, should make them only give up to 370.
The Witcher 3 is the worst game ever. And here's why: Since I finished it 3 times already, I simply cannot play and actually finish other games.Experiencing a game like Witcher, with such amazing story, world and pretty much everything in it.Makes it hard to play ANY of these other garbage games out there, even if they are "AAA". Therefore Witcher 3 ruined my gaming experience. Since Witcher, the only game I could finish was Thronebreaker...What a surprise.Might be able to finish the latest Assassins creed, maybe, prolly not, it's boring af already, after a few hours.
the fight system and gameplay in Witcher 3 is one of the most boring ones in rpgs, game could be the best game ever but the fighting is so boring i never could finish this game
The best game ever made. It ruined all other games for me. (to this day) every other game feels empty, bland and boring. And i have tried all higher rated games. Gonna give RDR2 a try, hope that will change my mind.
@@63Limar With games like Dark Souls , Red Dead , Gta coming ouy in the span of those 5 years I would call Witcher 3 best game of the year it was realeased, nothing more.
@@dumitrache12 it's your opinion, I think third Darksouls was meh, would rather have Bloodborne on pc than DS3, bought it and was too bored to finish, I don't like GTA games and RDR2 doesn't seem fun to me too.
@@dumitrache12 I would say the witcher 3 is better than all the ones you mentioned there. The witcher is amazing on a technical level, it's got great storytelling, great gameplay and to top it off it's one of the most consumer friendly games out there. Sure if you're specifically looking for a really tough challenge dark souls will be more your thing, but dark souls is not as good on a technical level and the storytelling isn't anywhere near the level you see in the witcher. There are certain preferences that could make you enjoy some other games more like setting, difficulty etc, but as a whole I would say none of these games are on the same level as the witcher 3.
Witcher 3 is the only game where after each playthrough I wish I could forget the entire game and experience it all fresh again. To not play W3 is a crime Asmongold!!😁
@@RepliesMuted Witcher 3's combat is have a wide spectrum , and even more combos can be unlocked by skillpoints, also , this "mediocre , bland" combat system is also true for almost every other popular RPG games , the highly praised Skyrim is the biggest example of it. There is literally no combat there just left click spamming and even the majority of the weapons have the same single animation... Story pacing is just as slow as you want it to be , but to be honest i never seen anyone who would complain about a complete and good written story because of it's pace. I enjoyed every single conversation in the game , because it felt real , it had an impact , weight , also the ability to choose how you wanna continue the story in major ways are still blow my mind , and still there is no game what could do anything like this. The game have over 200 quests and every single one of them (even the tiniest side missions) have about 3-4 endings depending on how you act , and what you say , like wtf...if you get bored of it then the problem in you and not in the game.
Witcher 3's combat is serviceable at best. The rest of the game is about walking around, talking to people and reading text. If you're not into that then you won't find the game enjoyable.
My favorite antagonist in Witcher universe is Gaunter O'Dimm -The Master Mirror, very well-developed character with amazing story to discover with his own DLC.
And the funny thing is you meet him at the very start of the original game, long before the DLC and when you do, you think nothing of it. Plus i wouldn't say he is an antagonist.
By design WoW expansion playthrough is 100 times slower than any SP RPG game and some idiot on WoW stream says W3 is boring because it's slow xD #WTF Ps. Played W3 multiple times and ill keep going back for more because it's the (subjectively) greatest RPG you can get. Cyberpunk will probably join W3 in top 3 RPG ever made.
it's 2 different worlds. wow is faster paced. take a quest. kill 10 mobs. boom reward. take 5 more quest aoe pull click items, bonus quest. While in the witcher you talk, choose options, travel. enitrely different. But i'm not saying witcher was boring. Tho i get why some people think it is compared to wow.
My problem with why i think the game is boring is mostly because i feel the economy is fucked, and the fact that i have to do a bunch of sidequests before i can go to the next zone unless i wanna be under leveled.
@@Guitarman5705 not only that but the random stories that are told in random locations without quest tied to them at all. Pretty sure its in Velen theres a building I came across on my looting fest that had a 3 corpses which looked like a Mother and Child lying on the bed and the father hung himself across the room. And that house just adds/helps to emphasize how dark The Witcher UV really is.
Was the first scene from a dlc? I can't for the life of me remember. I may have missed it completely. I remember when I first saw this I was so stoked to get to this scene.
@@beauraymond11 if you're talking about the first cinematic that asmongold watched then yeah its from B&W dlc, but there's 2 paths you can take a that stage (investigate the girl in the cinematic or the queen's sister) so if your like me and chose the sister then you wouldn't have seen this confrontation in game
Albatross You actually never see this confrontation in-game. The cinematic takes place after the events of blood and wine, where Geralt goes back to Toussaint to kill Orianna. She never dies in the game, no matter your decisions.
The second clip when the Witcher knocks the soldier back with a wave of his hand, he is using one of five "Signs" (a kind of limited low level magic). The one he uses is Aard, which is like a force beam which can knock a target back or break down a door. The other four Signs are Igni, a limited fire spell, Yrden, a spell which lays down a circle of icons on the ground around the Witcher and limits the abilities of any enemy in the circle, Axii, which is a short term mind control spell that can induce an enemy to do your will or just daze him, and Quen, which is a protective force field. (If you remember the prior clip in the barn against the vampire, there is a moment where a golden sphere appears around the Witcher...that is Quen in action.)
Played WoW for 12 years, no other games (bits of Starcraft and Warcraft) and when I stopped I was just like this guy, completely ignorant to all the other good games out there. Now i've caught up. Played Witcher 2 and 3 (Witcher 1 gameplay sucks to much, I wouldve played it otherwise), Played all 3 Mass Effect, even went as far as to play Andromeda. Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4. The last 3 Tomb Raiders. Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War. Assassins Creed Origins. Doom. and probably a bunch of other good games im forgetting. Anyway, all that just to say I felt ashamed and ignorant after I played WoW cause I missed sooooo many good games. WoW eats up time like a Sumo eats food at the peak of his career. BTW Witcher 3 is my favorite out of all the ones mentioned above.
@@softan Disagree with you on that one chief, I couldn't finish the first Witcher because I hated the gameplay so much. Story was fine, but I just couldn't deal with that clunky combat system. 2 was improved in nearly every way possible
Definitely not a boring game. Hours and hours of content, and your decisions affect the future. Ive played through it like 4 times and ive discovered new things and played differently every time.
@@michael6079 Honestly, the first one is better than the second one, story-wise and gameplay wise. Pluus the atmosphere was amazing in that game haha. but to each their own
I personally wasn't having as much fun with witcher 2 because even though it was set in an open world map, you only had a couple of paths you could take to your destination. I remember there being a single piece of log in my way that you could easily walk over irl without any effort but in w2 it was a completely impenetrable barrier, and that's the case with pretty much all other tiny obstacles in the game.
@@whennever8202 Story was better for sure imo. Geralt's start of the story was pretty fun and. Gameplay wise, I loved the 2-sword mechanic which (I think) was forgotten in other two, well, less focused on I think. Locations and maps were great full of atmosphere Buuut it's my opinion, and my memories of the game.
950 hours on this game, still don't get bored of it, and enjoy watching other people play them, truly piece of art, if you haven't picked it up yet by 2018, do yourself a favor, and play through it. it starts a bit slow, but it's definitely worth the time and play
Not sure if it has been mentioned, but the First cinematic you watched was the cinematic that came out the day Witcher 3 was launched and it was a teaser for the 2nd expansion, and the 2nd one that was watched was the Reveal cinematic for Witcher 3
Witcher 3 is a beautiful game with breathtaking scenery, brilliant combat and really interesting story line that you'll want to complete. Whitcher 3 Wild Hunt followed by the 2 DLC's Witcher 3 Heart of Stone and Witcher 3 Blood and Wine. It is a must play game that requires patience and Strategy. plus its a open world RPG. what else can you ask for.
The potion he took before entering the barn was probably a Witcher potion known as Black Blood. It essentially alters the Witcher's blood to make it toxic to vampires...a vamp who drinks blood from a Witcher who has taken BB will take damage. The glass globe which he threw up in the barn was a Moon Dust "bomb" which contains slivers of silver which make it impossible for the vamp to go completely invisible and limits their abilities.
that was a fantastic quest night to remember they all were but there were two that really stuck out as genius for me the iris quest line was so hauntingly beautiful and so well thought out it was touching i took the rose of iris she was so beautiful and i released her then the knights errant quest with Guillame and his bird lady i chose not to use him as she did not love him so a day later playing the game i saw him very drunk in the town it was the detail in the game that made it the best single player of all time and the benchmark for other rpgs , there are developers and then cdpr for me they are streets ahead the man city of developers.
Witcher 3 has been the best Single player RPG i've ever played. Hands down. Probably my favorite game of all time up until this point. Anyone who hasn't played that game yet, you need to. I could write a small novella about how good the Witcher 3 is.
Playing Witcher III made me stop playing Blizzard games so much because it made me realize there where probably other treasures I was missing out on. Witcher III spoiled me a little though. I am pretty sure it has the best DLC of any game that has ever been made.
The content of Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt and the two DLC's (Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine) is vast and you can sink hundreds of hours into the full game. If you ignore the side quests (some of which are complex enough to merit a game of their own) you can burn through the game relatively quickly, but you will miss tons of incredibly fascinating writing. Almost every action you take will have consequences the deeper you get into the game. Plus, CDPR has produced a free DLC known as "New Game +" which allows you to start the game over while retaining all the experience and most of the equipment that you earned in the first play through, allows you to rise to level 100 instead of the level 50 you could attain in the basic game and lets you go back and take on any content you may have missed or skipped in the first playthrough. I went through the basic game once, then started over from scratch and invoked the New Game +....spent 842 hours because I'm pretty much a "completionist."
Suggest playing it. This series is even older than Game of Thrones and is based on a very famous novel series in Poland. In fact Geralt of Rivia is almost as much of a folk hero to the Polish as Robin Hood is to England. Just like some previous games from other studios like Fable, this is a massive game (even without the expansion packs) where your choices and actions do affect the outcome. There are a number out outcomes you can have, some which are happy and of course some which are not so fortunate. A lot of the adventures you have in the game are BASED on tales in the books and Grimm/Slavic folklore. There is a lot more to the gameplay than just mindlessly running everything through with a sword. You do have to do a bit of detective/ strategy work in finding and collecting items and saving characters..also the choices are not always that easy to make. The graphics and the monsters/ bandits and such will keep you exploring. Overall this game has set a new benchmark in open world gaming and the A.I is pretty good too.
Know Never I just finished all of witcher 3 stories no side missions left although a fair amount of ? And I ended with 130 hours yet I see people take 200 hours to only finish the base game wtf
@@LeeSong325 Did you skip the conversations? I don`t know, man... it`s impossible to beat the base game in 130 hours. But then again, I missed out an absolute ton of content on my first playthrough as well.
I played WoW for 4 years from 2007 to 2011 and followed that up by another 3 years of only LoL. I am still catching up with games that I didn´t play in the meantime or that came out later but due to me getting to play games from back then I did not get to play the titles that were more recent. I still haven´t played Red Dead Redemption 2, Disco Elysium, both Last of Us Games, Spiderman, God of War and Ragnarok, both Horizon games, Zelda BotW, all Uncharted games, Prey, Bloodborne, Fallout 4, the last two Arkham Games, the newer 3 Assassins Creed games and so many more.
So wait... I've seen this video and another where he's just baffled that things like The Witcher and Dark Souls exist. Does this guy play nothing but WoW? What the fucking fuck, how is that actually possible? I can't comprehend the thought of playing only one game as a source of gaming entertainment. Sure there are games I've put tons of time into, but I would be so god damn bored if I chose to play one specific title, forever.
The Witcher 3 imo is hard to get into, but once it clicks, it'll become addictive. Took me 20 hours of gameplay until I finally started to enjoy it, but once I did start to enjoy it, I couldn't drop it for 60+ hours.
