Love this video, I have moved many times over my 65 years & have “officially” downsized these last 2 times. One other tip for the boxes-I also date each box with the date it was packed. Helps me find the correct box, depending on the time period that it was packed.
Ugh I’ve moved about 9 times the past 12 years and I’m SO over it!! I’m 23 and my husband and I decided next April we will be moving 3 states over. With a one and a half year old I might add. Say a prayer for us😂excited to watch this and get some tips!

These are GREAT tips!! Helped my mom move in January on very short notice. From the day she found out she had to move we packed, cleaned out 10 years worth of accumulation and had her moved into a new home in 28 days. It was SO worth it! Blessing in disguise for sure. My family just sold our townhouse and we’re renting back from the buyers for a few more weeks. We haven’t found a new house, yet. 😬 Nothing is for sale around here. What few houses do list get snatched by sight-unseen investors. 🙄 Pray for my sanity. 😅

Get different colors of duct tape for each rooms boxes. Keep a master list of which color is for each room . That way boxes end up in the room they are intended for.

The timing of this video was perfect, my parents just got divorced and the day you posted this my mom found the perfect rental (waiting for better house market to buy) for me her and my sister, we signed the lease about 4 days later. Tonight is the first night in the new place, and I used a lot of the tips you gave in this video! Thank you for making this as this was our first time moving, it made it a lot easier!
I've moved apartments every year since 2018 and I'm picking the keys up to a House on Friday 🏘️ I'm never thought I'd be able to afford a house and I've been extremely lucky to find the perfect one to call my home. Loved this so much! Great tips!! I’m 30 and between growing up with divorced parents who LOVED to move and my own situations, I’ve moved 25 times. Luckily, when I was a kid, a lot of these moves were within the same town so they didn’t come with the loss of my routine.....but definitely created a sense of never feeling settled. I actually now get instantly triggered/severe anxiety by moving in general. In fact, my brother in law moved last week and we helped him, and my stress levels were through the roof. Just the sight of boxes and the action of loading the truck/unloading... I swear I was more stressed than anyone and it wasn’t my stuff. 😂 My husband and I have finally bought a house and moved into what I hope will be somewhere we stay for a LONG TIME, and it’s so nice to feel settled and like I have a permanent space. But I’ve always found it so interesting how much the action of moving can effect someone.
This is so crazy to me that people don’t like moving! I am honestly shook. I LOVE moving. It’s always sad to leave a house, especially when you had it built yourself, but I love change and always look forward to the next adventure and getting to build and choose everything for the new house.
Thank you SO MUCH, I haven't asked for tips but my boyfriend and I are in between places right now, staying at his mothers, about to move into our first place without roommates, and we have a 2 month old on top of it. My grandma has been living in the house she’s currently living in for 18 years! She moved in seven months before I was born. We are currently packing up her house and helping her move. 😥 It is definitely bittersweet.

Perfect timing! We’re moving in 2,5 weeks. We’ve been living in rentals the last couple of years and finally bought our own place on the countryside, an absolute dream house! But it’s stressful, our current landlord wants to sell so we’ve had to keep it neat since they will be taking photos of it today. We did pack a bit and squeezed boxes in strategically 😅 It will be my girlfriends 29th(!) move and my 6th in 6 years so we know the drill by now but it never stops getting stressful. Thank goodness the next one will be our forever home! Thank you for all your useful tips❤️

We moved out of Texas after the last snow storm that crippled the entire grid. 30 cattle and 12 horses died and we lost two dogs as well. Sold the farm and decided to start fresh in a less corrupt state.

This video was great timing! My husband and I are having a home built and will be selling our home soon. We will be moving temporarily in with my in-laws so everything is going to storage until the new home is ready. These tips were great and so many things that I would never have thought of!

I never heard the sock trick thanks! I don't know if vertical would work for my plates because they're the kind that slant on the sides, don't know how else to explain. Nowhere close to a bowl, but enough that food can run together 😄
A very thoughtful and practical recording. Glasses in socks is a clever idea. In one of our house moves, when we had several young children, we employed a removal firm which also did the final packing. The staff were very good at this, wrapping small and fragile items in paper, but unfortunately they wrapped everything they could find including some of the rubbish. Days later it was a bit of a shock, when we were unwrapping, to come across the rubbish again ! NB, the little trolley (dolly) you showed in your picture would be called a sack barrow in the UK.
I use my hand truck for bringing in my groceries. Lol. They are great if you shop at a warehouse club. Stack the toilet paper, paper towel... I even keep clear bins in my car for small stuff and I can make one trip into the house with my hand truck. 🤣🤣
The company who owns our appartment complex is doing some really big renovations. They are doing it in waves, which means that we (the tenants) are swapping appartments left and right for them to be empty according to the 'waves' - if that makes any sense :D But we have put in a request to end up in a larger appartment - and for that to be possible, we need to move TWICE! I love the fact that we get to have a fully renovated (new kitchen, windows, bathroom, floors) big appartment, but the moving stresses me out :D Thanks for this video, I'm sure this is gonna help me relax
Good idea to Hire movers. It's cheaper than pizza and beer and gas and if anything expensive gets broken the movers will cover it. You only get one back.
I'm moving in the next month or so when my tenancy is up so this is perfect, I hate moving too, I'm only 26 but have moved as many times as you mary! So I feel your pain. Packing is the worst 😫. X
