To Everyone Commenting, a secret ending is an ending that rolls after credits whether is be a movie, game, anime etc. It can also be an ending that is unlocked. When I made this video I titled it using that definition in mind.
A secret ending in a video game is generally known as being an ending you can unlock by doing a specific type of thing. For example, for Batman: Arkham Knight there is a secret ending you get for 100%ing the game or something like that. This is not a secret ending, it is just an end credits scene. That would be like calling Marvel's credit scenes "Secret scenes". It sounds to me like you titled it this just for clicks but I apologize if that is not the case. I don't want to offend you or anyone else but this is basically just the ending of the game
It's not a secret though? All it takes is watching the credits...hell I'm pretty sure I skipped the credits and still got it. It's just a post-credit scene.
It's still sad to know that eventually Edward would be killed by the Templars and Haytham would join the very people who murdered him. The Kenway bloodline, has a history of tragedy and bloodshed.
Sad series. Jennifer didn't have her father until later, Haythem had his until Edwards death, and Connor had his for only a sequence in the game...thag families all messed up huh??
Was a great little send off ending. The beginning of AC 3 starts off Haytham describing this very moment. “Once. My father brought me here as a child, though I remember little of it. And I don't suppose tonight will afford me the luxury of a proper viewing either.”
"I served with your father, Haytham. He would have been ashamed to see what you have become" "Really? I wasn't aware my father had a sense of shame!" "Do not speak ill of your father, boy! If you become half the man he was, it will be a blessing!" "Blessing or curse, I am my own man!"
READ THE BOOK, IT EXPLAINS LITERALLY EVERYTHING. It also reveals that when Conner was about to be hung, Haytham saved him with a throwing knife because he saw the arrow an assassin shot at the rope didn't go all the way through...
@24/7 Gamer I don't think he did, the book just states that he was not against Birch marrying her. I don't think he would have forced her into a marriage she was explicitly against.
@@ranglerron7434 She was kidnapped by the same people that killed Edward and sold as a concubine to Constantinople. Haytham finally managed to find her fifteen years later (about the same time Connor was born) and went to rescue her. The two then killed the man responsible for their father's death (Birch - Haytham's former templar mentor) and went their separate ways. Haytham returned to America and Jenny inherited Edward's house and fortune. Haytham and Jenny never became close, though, and in the end, she didn't even come to his funeral.
@Doku No, there wasn't. Forsaken pretty much ends with Haytham's death, and we know that Connor never met Jenny during the events of AC3. There is no reason he couldn't have met her later, of course, but it isn't mentioned anywhere. I highly recommend reading Forsaken, though. It really gives Haytham's character much more depth and makes him more of a tragic hero than a villain.
@@easternlights3155 Connor never met Jenny, because she died of old age and if I remember correctly, Jenny gave a necklace of some sort to Élise de la Serre (Lover of Arno Dorian) before passing away.
To be honest, this is one of the most satisfying endings in AC. Most endings for other hero's involve their only love dying, failing miserably, dying a horrible death, leading a hollow existence, or never completing their goals. Edward on the other hand, survives and fulfills his role as an assassin and is able to settle down and raise a loving and successful family.
Douglas Murphy Haytham kills his father...maybe now looks like nice end but Edward was killed by his son.Haytham became Templar and betrayed his father...but im happy because all great assassins like Edward live incredible life and that's why there tales are the best.....
Haytham was like 10 years old when Edward was killed in front of him. Maybe even 9. Haytham didn’t knew his father was actually an assassin until he was like 23 and after his father died Mr. Birch kind of like adopted him and trained Haytham to be a temblar without him knowing that his father was an assassin at that time.
It’s kinda sad when you realize Edward gets killed around this time haythem becomes a Templar and gets killed, and Jenny gets captured for over a decade and loathes Edward
"My own path was paved with lies, my mistrust forged from treachery. But my own father never lied to me and, with this journal, I preserve that custom. I present the truth, Connor, that you may do with it as you will." - Haytham Kenway
Timeline basically is as like this (chronological order, not as per release) Black Flag Haytham's memories in AC 3 AC Rouge Connor's memories in AC 3 Ending of AC Rouge (which kickstarts AC Unity) AC Unity
@@harsh111ytshe was kidnapped when Edward was killed while haytham was brought, raised and trained by templars. haytham when adult kills the killer of Edward and also finds his long lost sister. but still lives as a templar
Just did with Edward killed saving his son and haytham letting his son Connor kill him because of he’s caring and love for his son so obviously the family is absolutely messed up
"but if my arms do tire" Also edward: once carried 2 swords, 4 pistols, an inventory full of animal skin and bones , dual hidden blades, a bunch of coins, a alot of clothing, yet still does parkour without a problem
Bruno Novacki Fucking Reginald Birch. I LIKED him I really did! And don’t get me wrong I still love his character but some part of my soul just really hates him from that.
Edward Kenway in my opinion is the best Assassin, with a cool history. Wish he wasn't killed of so soon. A big part of me wished he was presumed dead, but reappeared after hearing about his son's allegiance with the Templars
Love the detail that it's the same theater from assassin's creed 3, where haytham says that his father once brought him to see the same opera years ago and he wishes he could enjoy it as he did that day
What if we had a "what if" in Assassin's creed like the series marvel is having and can show all the protagonists happy life and possibly meeting each other
There's a bunch of scenarios. What if Edward trained Jenny to be an assassin? What if Shay never became a templar? What if Connor joined the templar order with Haythem? What if Arno never followed Elise or left the seat his dad told him to stay in as a kid? What if Elise's dad got the letter warning about a betrayal and avoided getting murdered? It's all there
@@kfactor20 ngl connor joining the templars would be stupid imo since its like duel of the fates in star wars where qui gon and maul fight, the fight decides anakins fate. Had edward not killed like he did and live a longer one, connor wouldn't be born at all hadn't haytham and ziio met. So technically, connor's life and fate relies on haytham being a templar or an assassin
What if edward never left wales/england. There would be no assassins involved in this story but it would be nice to see what happens. Maybe birch will find his way to Jennifer kenway anyway (she would be a kenway if he never left) given that she is the granddaughter of a noble
Eight years??? Where has the freakin' time gone, eh? I remember this amazing game as if it had come out yesterday. Man, the memories that were made in those times...
Haytham: i can't see the stage Edward: use your eagle vision and point at gold spot to identify your target Haytham: i found him Edward: the stage is watched, you have to find another way Haytham: i have one lmao
Edward just oozed cool like ezio. I like his redemption story. It's a shame how Haytham ended up but really that's what the assassins fight for, the freedom to choose whether you choose them or the templars, though each has it's own consequences.
I just realized that Haytham Kenway is the main character in the Kenway saga because he appears in the Assassin's Creed trilogy, 3, Black Flag and Rogue. same as Ezio Auditore.
Is also so sad that Anne Bonny refused to go back to Great Britain with Edward Kenway and probably get married when Caroline passed away. 😩😩 Maybe because her hatred towards Great Britain for what they did to her home country Ireland.
This so sad knowing what happens Edward - Murdered by Templars Haytham - Joined the same people that killed his father Jennifer - Sold into sex slavery
I think we need a "what if" sort of thing with assassin's creed. I don't care in what way comic, game, small movie, or just a 15-20 min video. It would be cool to see Edward meeting Connor or Haytham becoming an assassin or even Haytham turns on the templars, connor does not kill him and Haytham tells him of Edward.
“But won’t your arms tire” Edward: “mf I climbed the high structures in the Caribbean, climbed in and out the jackdaw more times then you’ve been alive, did parkour with 2 swords, 4 guns and pelt full of animal skin”
Imagine if we played a sequel game after black flag where edward wore an england style assassin outfit and we saw how he trained haytham to become an assassin.
@@DeJaySan they can do just like brotherhood's game hours. Short but more to the story for the characters. But I guess theyre done with this family. Desmonds son can be a new modern day protagonist and bring this lineage back.
@@DeJaySan yeah I just discovered it too. apparently, in AC3 there's a voice over where abstergo found a boy with lineage like desmond then revealed him to be desmonds son.
@@cis4659 I never knew that before now wow and I played ac3 and tried to get all the voice lines lol maybe it’s been so long I must’ve missed it or just don’t remember
If you think about it hayham is the only person that shows up in all 3 of the colonial games ac3 ac4 and rogue. so even if he is only a major character in 2 of them and playable in ac3, it's really the haytham trilogy
I love this game it’s the first ac I played and my favourite by far but how is this a SECRET ending you see it at the end of the credits when you finish the game
hayden chamberlain every single time someone disses him for betraying his father he flies into a murderous rage, and after he found out Birch was responsible for killing Edward Haythem killed him.
There is no evidence that Haytham hated his father. He never bad mouths him personally and avenges his murder later in life. If he hated him he would never have bothered doing that.
In Rogue, Haytham and Shay fight Adewele(Edward's quartermaster) and the conversation went like this: Adewele: I served with your father. He would be ashamed at what you've become. Haytham: Really? I wasn't aware my father was capable of shame. Adewele: Don't talk ill of your father. If you become half the man he was, it would be a blessing. Haytham: Blessing or curse? I am my own man.
@@hellstrom4209 Perhaps after Haytham and Jeniffer find out that their father was a privateer, a pirate, and a treasure hunter, they ended up disappointed and disgusted because you know how the world sees the pirates as disgusting and the only-looking-for-themself people. They really want to seek answers to it but unfortunately for them, their father has passed away a long time ago. If only Edward also write a journey as Haytham did, they would know the real stories their father experiencing as a pirate. To be fair, none of the characters from AC4 ended having the best ending. Every single character ends up having a bad ending, maybe that's the end result of becoming a pirate, nobody will see you as the best person.
I think it's on the 2-year anniversary of this theater visit that Edward is killed. Think this scene is supposed to take place on Haytham's 8th birthday according to the book Assassin's Creed: Forsaken.
@@amberxv4777 well not really lol my cousin has a blond father and he was born blond but his hair became darker as he grew. Genes work in a strange way.
Most ppl that have blonde hair as children grow up to have neon hair...thought that was common knowledge from grade school science classes and genes and such lol
Oh my god i'm crying idk why... That's Haytham Kenway as a child, now he is a templar and trying to kill Connor Kenway (Ratonhnhake:ton) *Haytham's son and Edward's grandson*
compared to joining the colonial assassins? he avenged his father's death and saved his sister from slavery, and for better or worse he followed what he believed in
it is so sad because in the prologue of ac 3 he says it wasn't something special when he revisits the theatre and acts like it meant nothing to him but edward was kind to him (haytham just forgets all about this) and joins the templars but atleast he acknowledges the assassin goal if haytham was an assassin the templars would have been crushed by ac rogue and there would have been no conflict further on but shay and haytham just undid everything edward had done so if edward hadn't been killed there would have been no desmond going into the animus and stuff
***** If you watched the video, you can see Haytham says "Father help me" Haytham is Edwards son Edward is not haythams brother. How could your brother also be your father? Not only that it is stated in the cutscene that Edward is his father because he calls him by Father.
Ironic how haytham betrayed Edwards legacy by turning against the assassins and becoming a Templar. Glad Connor put him down, even though he was a shit assassin
Connor wasn't a shit Assassin.. In fact, he was better than all the main Assassins we get to play.. He literally revived the Assassin Brotherhood in the colonies, when no one else would.. And with nearly zero help too. He was a brutal killing machine and could put down a massive number of Templars.. Way more agile than Ezio, Altair and propably Edward too.. What was shit about him was his personality.. Now that was completely SHIT!!! He was completely dull and boring, had ZERO development of his character, etc. Maybe it had to do with him witnessing his own mother burning alive, but still.
Stratos Guy Kenway He had character man, how could you say he was dull? Especially after all the shit he had gone through. For me he was the best assassine besides Ezio.
KeybladeWielderXV Again with the crap that Haytham betrayed his father for god’s sake, he was a kid when the templars took him and trained him and Haytham didn’t even know his father was an assassin until he was like 23 years old, he also didn’t know that his tutor, Mr Birch, was the one behind the killing of his family. He was just misguided.
Sorry the auditorie family, sit down this is my AC family, Edward, Jenny, Haytham, Connor and Templar Birch, that’s my fave AC❤ Also this whole scene cuts deep after reading the assassins creed 3 book which is literally Haytham Kenways diary!
I think kenway's name and actions has the biggest impact in AC history... Black flag, freedom cry,AC 3, rogue, syndicate, unity, Aveline and etc (if I left some of it).
I don't know why it got recommended to me today, but... It literally says in the beginning of the video (0:23) that Jennifer kept her mother's last name - Scott
