If you're seeing this. I have made a newer and more detailed video about Origins. I recommend watching that! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DewVn6tuOmI.html
It’s insane what they managed to do when they were given an extra year. I’d honestly have no issue with them releasing even every 3-4 years if it meant they could make the games this good
Replaying this game after not playing it since 2017 still felt phenomenal not saying it’s the best game ever but definitely in my personal top 3 favorite games of all time.
It saddens me when people blame this game or hate on it because it introduced the new formula, it was the perfect balance between rpg elements and the old way with perfect cutscenes and voice acting unlike the other two.. And the setting in ancient Egypt is just chef's kiss
Nope, the story is shallow and it lacks parkour and stealth mechanics that should be essential to an Assassin's Creed game. It's not even a good RPG game, let alone a good Assassin's Creed game.
i love this game to bits, but i agree that more varied assasination and parkour animations could have made it better. imagine it having unity’s assasinations & parkour modded/added in. sheesh!
I have been there before playing this (also as an egyptologist) and when I started it I was mindblown by the landskapes, it is exactly like reality, especially when you are on a boat on the Nile, the light, the color of the water... just perfection.
The depiction of Egypt is breathtaking, even so many years later. Bayek is an amazing character and superbly acted. Odyssey and Valhalla missed the mark, imho. I love it that, when you scroll over the map, all the to-do icons are just gone. Such dedicated!
i never played the last 3 games when they came out but i got bored and decided to install origins and i’m already like 40 hours in and absolutely love the game, its adaptive and addicting. i don’t think i’ve had this much fun with an ac game since black flag
Origins is still my favourite AC game. it's definitely not perfect, but it's so good in so many things that I can just ignore all these small issues and really enjoy it every time I start new playthrough. there's something so magical in how this game embodied ancient Egypt! you just feel all love the developing team poured into this game and you just fall in love with it too. Origins really aged like a fine wine!
@@raullozano9106 to be honest I'm not entirely sure. but I think all of the events rewards and skins that you get from Heka chests are exclusive to the save you get them on, so you can keep them only if you start NG+
I've been playing AC since the first one came out, and i think this is a masterpiece too, its the most beautiful and believable world i ever seen in a videogame in my 40 years playing, and the story, gameplay and Bayek are top notch! i played this one for months non stop.
"The taste of her sting" a side quest that I encountered randomly and managed to finish after 50 hours in the game, because you have to look around and explore to finish it. I love this game!
Playing assassin creed since 2009.....my fav was brother hood and black flag....until i play origina went top on the list....it's so engaging, the beauty of Egypt desert and bayeks companion senu....❤❤❤❤❤
I played this game in 2019-2020 and I'm almost nostalgic. It's not TW3 or RD2 but damn, this game was fucking GOOD ! Definitly the best AC game in my opinion
I remember my uncle pre ordered this and played it at my house and I fell in love with it so much that he let me borrow it but has never asked for it back
Absolutely fantastic video. I've yet to play it and It's on sale on the PlayStation store for $9 right now, and this sold me on it. Also, I wasn't aware Abubakar Salim, who I thought was phenomenal in "Raised by Wolves", does the voice for the main character, so I'm extra excited to play it. Again, great video, now subbed 🤘
Played when it first came out on Xbox now I have a brand new gaming pc worth 3 grand and I’m downloading again and starting from scratch today , it’s that good , great video ❤😊😊
Another thing that amazed me is how the writers were able to advocate women empowerment without having to make men characters incompetent. It was able to show what true gender equality is through Bayek and Aya. Both are competent and intelligent and are working towards the good of everyone. I think Hollywood and society as a whole can learn a lot from this game.
i totally agree with you on this. it really did gender equality well, and as a male playing as aya, i felt good and powerful too. didn’t feel like she was forcefully made better in some way.
Forgot to mention on next gen consoles they just updated recently this year a 60fps update. And it makes the game so much better to play for consoles, truly a legendary game. Great review and video man.
@@TheHiddenOne690 oh ok that makes sense. But it is definitely worth it for the console players to revisit the game with a much better playing field than before.
I recently replayed AC: Origins and it really was better than I remembered. The first time I played thru the game it didn’t really vibed with me and it’s probably because I had some problems with the new fighting mechanics. But now that I’ve replayed it twice in the last 18 months I got to say, Bayek and Aya are some of my favorite characters in the franchise.
I did play it for the first time in 2023. And I can tell you it is an excellent game and the graphics and game play are top notch. I do have a small few criticisms but are not worth saying because I would score this game at 95% or above and could be a matter of opinion.
this will always be my favorite, as I remember the days when the pandemic hit in March-April 2020 and I was playing the heck out of this one - I think I've managed to play 93% in 75 hours or so. Since then, it sparked my passion for ancient Egypt and ancient history. I haven't played Odyssey yet, because I replayed Unity (which is also one of my favorites) but I can't wait!
I’ve been playing Origins for the first time recently. This game would have been a masterpiece if it was half the size and they cut back on the bloat. I don’t know if I want to even finish Origins just because I’m so sick of these open worlds with a million ? marks all over constantly drawing me away from what I was doing only to be another rinse and repeat activity like a bandit camp or croc lair. It makes exploring feel like a chore to clear each ? on my map. I completely forget what happened in the main story because I get side tracked for 3 hours in between missions only to realize I spent 3 hours doing the same activities over and over just to make sure I cleared most of the points of interest in between missions. Origins has great gameplay, the world is breathtaking and so cool to look at, the RPG elements are fun, the story (when I remember what’s going on) is engaging and well written. But why couldn’t all of those positive aspects be put into a game that’s much more focused and hand crafted? I would much prefer a smaller world that has engaging, hand crafted side content and exploration that leads to more unique things. When you realize 80% of Origins map is just enemy camps, animal lairs, viewpoints, and loot locations with a chest or two, you start to see how repetitive and grindy the gameplay loop is. Sorry this is long I don’t expect anyone to read all of it but it helps me to rant and write my thoughts down because I’ve been feeling very conflicted about this game. I want to love it, a lot of aspects are phenomenal. But Ubisoft doesn’t respect my time. I’d prefer a 30-40 hour, tighter, more focused and hand crafted experience over the 80-100+ hours id have to spend getting through the sheer size and amount of bloating this game has.
I never wanted to play this or the next one as I randomly got Valhalla first, as mirage is coming out I thought I’d try and give origins a go a week ago and I completed the main quests within about 30 hours, I’m gunna do lots more before I play the next one but I’m so glad I played it. I never liked the fact they’d changed how it was played but I’ve come to prefer this game over the old ones
100% agree. I never forget the first time I slid down a pyramid. The RUSH. And the fact that if I spend too much time in the desert, actual mirages happen. Little touches like that are unforgettable.
Ive had this game for so long but I just recently started playing it. Its crazy how so much details they put in per Zone. My mind was blown when I got to giza and saw all those pyramids breathtaking!
The name of the channel is intriguing enough to subscribe lol. It's truly mind blowing where they took Origins. It's just a piece of art no denying that
I wish they handled the other 2 rpg games like they did for origins abit more realism and less fantasy…… the other 2 were full on fantasy games which have fully embraced the rpg genre 😞 was really disappointed with Valhalla. It’s a good game don’t get me wrong but too much fantasy in my opinion…. The Viking era assassins creed game was something I really looked forward since it was rumored around 2014 ish if I’m not mistaken
Yeah, a lot of the pushback against this game came from the die-hard AC fans throwing a temper tantrum about the change-up in the formula, ignoring just how stale and frankly boring that formula had gotten. The series needed a change-up, and this was the best change-up we could've hoped for.
Bayek is awesome, scary when he needs to be and always the protector, specially with children. He's a father at heart and that's what makes him so tragic and awesome. You can feel what a great man he could have been.
I don't care what "true hardcore AC fans" will say about it (get a life why don't you?), this game is a masterpiece. Story is good, voice acting is briliant, the location is breathtaking. Lots of stuff to do and explore + the side missions are preety damn fun and good to play
@@BlackHellhound Again no need for you to be rude just because their opinion differs to yours, everyone can have their own thoughts on things. Like for me it's love Origins, hate Odyssey, like Valhalla, excited for Mirage.
We needed a sequel with bayek going to ancient rome to reunite with aya and take down the ancients there. It was set up perfectly ubisoft missed that opportunity
Amazing video man!!! I love Assassin’s Creed Origins so much!!! This is my favorite game in the series, I’ve replayed it like 6 times. I love Egypt so much because of this game, it’s my favorite country and I would love to visit there one day. 😁😁🤩🤩😎😎💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬✨✨✨
i see potential here. nice channel and keep it up man. nice editing and all. about AC Origins: is my favourite AC. I love the visuals and the freedom of the missions. Its like a lite immersive sim, loved it. I dont see it as a masterpiece due to some annnoying flaws, but it is definitely a great game, and for me, mor enjoyable than other open worlds games out there that are more praised, such as Horizon ZD, from the same year.
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed. Origins is my favourite AC game too. Masterpiece is just the term for the video title haha, but it may be one though 👀
Played this game for the first time ever as of May 2023 and it’s the *only* game aside from RDR to blow me away with its gripping storyline and the stunning open world it’s set in. Well done Ubisoft. 👏🏼
It’s probably the perfect open world that to me rivals red dead’s open world. What makes red dead miles ahead is the grounding of the players character to the open world and the different ways the player can interact with the world and all its assets. This is the only fault I had with Origins , Bayek felt like he lived on the world instead of in it. They had such a perfect foundation for an open world but then failed to ground the player in it. A simple example is how UBI and many games seem to be so afraid to ground their characters with light survival elements, favoring convenience for convenience sake. Think of this, you can run from edge to edge in both origins and red dead 2, but one will feel like a journey and be immersive while the other will just be a straight mindless run. This is the difference, to run from edge to edge is possible for Arthur but you’ll have to prepare before hand and take into account different things. You’ll have to lightly manage your cores , which is just enough to feel immersive and not intrusive. In Origins, Bayek can just run straight and climb almost everything. This convenience guts immersion in what would otherwise be an engaging activity. I remember how I felt when I first left Siwa to go to Alexandria passing through the desert. I was in awe, but the fact that I could just whistle get on the horse and full sprint across it all made it a little underwhelming. I felt kind of disappointed, after I was done ogling at the scenery. I think if the game grounded Bayek more, like how Arthur was, it would feel so much more rewarding to just travel. Rockstar proved that adding light survival mechanics in order to ground the player in open worlds makes people care and feel most immersed even in something as simple as traversing from town to town.
I know exactly what you mean. But the thing with RDR2 is its so perfect that it sets the expectations too high. I don't think the two are comparable imo.
@@TheHiddenOne690 That’s true. RDR2 really messed my expectations, it raised the bar too high. But I do hope that it shows other devs that a little grounding can go a long way. I personally think that’s usually all thats missing from many UBI games to make them great. I really believed AC origins was the closest, they really had that open world down. I’ve never seen such detail coupled with scale. The NPCs were some of the most impressive UBI have made, and they worked for that scale. Thinking about it makes me want to get back then i remember Bayek only has 2 ways to interact with the world, traverse and attack. I can’t explain how modern UBI games feel, it feels like I have a dev kit or mod on my character because they give so much to the player and in such a blatant way in the name of convenience and freedom.
I'd love if they would have added a survival mode like in skyrim for its 10 years, an optional one. I would love to go and live in the world and have to fish or buy bread and sleep somewhere ❤
@@valeriaornano9883 Right ? That would go a long way. I remember Bayek actually had a home in Siwa but in the beginning of the game he says something like “I don’t need it anymore” or something like that to which I was like “huh?”. It would be cool and grounding to have some kind of home base to return to.
Just finished the story after playing on and off for the last month. While I'm ashamed to say it's my 1st Assassins Creed game I can't imagine it gets any better. Excellent game. 👏
I'm playing 3 different generations of AC at the same time (Flag, Syndicate, Origins/Odyssey) and by far, the Two O's are phenomenal, way better than the other two. Graphics wise, gameplay wise, story wise... In every aspect. And this is from someone who thouroughly enjoyed the Altaïr/Ezio arc. Even back in 2009, the first Ezio iteration was.... Boring. Parkour was easy, combat was a breeze and there was no challenge to speak of, even at the hardest setting. Brotherhood was way better, but nothing revolutionary. Revelations was one big cutscene . The American episodes of AC are good for new mechanics like the sea warfare, sure , but again, controlling Connor or Edward was a one-button affair - one button to parkour, one button to counter, one button to attack . This continued into Unity/syndicate. Thr Origins is truly a new game altogether, while also providing a very satisfying back story for the whole creed, tying in the arabic and the European timelines very well.
only bad thing is that (especially Alexandria) don't have many parkour opportunities, i like animation and parkour system, but there is not a lot of places you can do it. Same with Odyssey, they could have made Athens a city with more parkour opportunities.
Its one of the best games in the series with a too notch protagonist… Its almost perfection BUT the story really drops the ball… this game and setting had the content worthy of a trilogy… instead you kill your first 4 targets then the game crams 40 minutes of linear story and rushes to the end game… just throws the whole thing for a loop…then it sidelines the amazing Bayek and lets Aya close out the story… The establishment of the Hidden Ones is done well enough, but it was a missed opportunity when everything else is great
I just got this for $10 bucks at Walmart, I'm so excited to give it a go since this will be my very first time playing any of the Assassin's creed games. 😅
People calling everything a masterpiece. Do you even know what that means ? Just say it's a great game. But calling this a masterpiece means anything decent is a masterpiece.
I realize some fans of the earlier games felt Origins was too different and didn't like it, but it was the first AC game I really enjoyed. The earlier games have great atmosphere, but the controls are too clunky, and the combat feels so stiff and boring. I guess I just prefer an open world RPG style game. One thing I don't understand is why some fans of Origins don't like Odyssey. IMO it's got everything that made Origins great, with way better combat, and (as least as Kassandra) an equally compelling main character and story arc. They really captured the beauty of Greece too.
Still very relevant in 2024. Just re bought it for PlayStation and it’s far better than mirage or Valhalla in my opinion. The story is great the side quests are actually relevant and the world is just as beautiful and well built as the newer games.
Never been a fan of the series, I started with Unity and Syndicate which I both like then jumping to ACO afterwards, I think for someone like me who’s not too familiar with the entire lore, ACO is somehow a complete package being an origin story.
Visually I love it. but the transfascism is almost too much to take. Let people pick what gender they want.. do NOT force a gender on them like you do with Layla and Aya... fascism... do not understand the word?? look it up.
Easily the best of the RPG era. It struck the right balance between the old and new. The two that followed are largely abominations as far as I'm concerned.
it's just a shame that Oddessy and Valhalla didn't just repeat this formula and innovated in all the wrong places. it's funny how Ac origins probably has my least favourite time period when compared to Oddessy and Valhalla however AC origins is still the game i consistently go back to when i'm in the mood to replay the newer ac games.
Assassins creed origins is definitely my favourite game it didn’t completely go rpg and didn’t completely lose the assassin feel that’s why I was really hyped for Valhalla but man I was disappointed but AC Mirage seems like a Origins 2.0
