so i got one, and they are flimsy, so i hot glued every crevise and also zip tied the whole thing everywhere, but stuck in attic , before putting it outside, pointed north/ northeast to satelites 35 miles away, and get 61 HD OTA channels Free! it has an amplifier, and rotation (but don,t need it to move), ..just watch using splitters and long R59 cable will degrade your signal. Lastly, when getting this or any antenna, make sure it gets the low and high frequencies...45-900mhz, then tell the cable company where to go! Update...i put it outside on a pole (shower curtain rod), rescanned and Now get 76 channels free...Lead ZM
Does it need a special pile mount for the rotation to work or will a cheap one work? Thanks for just showing how to assemble and sparing us all the opinions of other video: and nice art on your work table!
I watched a video where the guy did just that. He had to buy a special antenna. Didn't look like a very good idea to me. If you need a 150 mile antenna, why wouldn't you put it outside and as high as possible? Plus, mounting it in the attic risks having something in the way of the antenna when you rotate it, since you probably won't be inside the attic when you are trying to adjust it.
