The 3 of them are still young and very talented. Guitars: Haruka (Hal-Ca) born November 2002. Bass (and yes, that's a custom 7-string bass): Miyu born March 2002. Drums: Mio born November 2000. Miyu and Mio are brothers. The fact that they were 16/17/18 years old in this performance is still mindboggling to me. As far as the fancam performance goes, the person who shot it is literally just a fan with her phone that put it on her own youtube channel (she might pass by in the comments). I actually really like this performance and prefer it over the studio version. But I have always really liked raw music and raw performances. To me Haruka's guitar is basically the vocals of the songs, although they have recently started to record some tracks with vocals as well. I personally prefer their instrumentals by a lot but I know a lot of people also really like their tracks with vocals. I just enjoy instrumental music a lot and typically don't really listen to the vocalist of a song on the first couple of listens with the exception of maybe the melody.

Yeah, the video was great. It gave me (Itai) that small live venue feel, which I really like, as I expressed. She did a great job keeping the camera steady. Also, I absolutely agree. It is always great seeing young bands that this talented and seeing where they go from here... We look forward to diving deeper into their music, instrumentals and otherwise 😉 Thank you for taking the time to view and engage, Maarten. Much appreciated! 🙏

This is my favorite video of their performance of Dawn. To me, the lack of any post-production makes the playing even more impressive. I was fortunate enough to see Van Halen live in the late 70s while only a few feet from the stage. When I first saw this video, Haruka's work on guitar took me back about 40 years when I saw EVH on guitar. Of all the great current female guitarists in Japan, and there are many, Haruka might very well be the best of them all.

She might be. She is definitely worthy being in the conversation and near the top of that list. An amazing talent with extremely impressive skills. We look forward to seeing more real soon. Stay tuned! Funnily, I was getting vibes of Steve Vai, who might be the best I've seen live, so I definitely get your EVH comparison. As always, thank you for taking the time to view and engage. Always a pleasure and always appreciated! 🙏

@MyIndie Productions They released a new ep called Aside a couple of weeks ago. Haruka adds her vocals and I think she did quite well. She doesn't have the powerful voice yet of a Saiki, Mayu or Asami. Angie of Gacharic Spin has improved quite a bit so no reason Haruka can't do the same.

Oh, if only Beethoven knew how to write lyrics; imagine how popular he might be today. There is a studio version of DAWN. This fan-cam is far more exciting. These three are children, by the way. They don’t sound like any garage band I’ve ever heard. Try GUNFIRE and CHURCH next. They also did a series of great 360-degree battle cam videos (you control the view on your screen). MAXIMUM THE HOREMONE are a group lead by a drummer.

Hi Greg! Yes, I (Itai) didn't mean that they sounded exactly like other garage bands I heard, but there is something about the small venue and "unprofessionally recorded" live sound that gives it that feel. The first time I heard bands like Silverchair and Powderfinger was in similar sized venues and those grew to become two of Australia's most successful rock bands. I get a similar feeling here with Asterism. Because of the instrumental nature of this song, it also threw me back to bands like The Dirty Three and Gersey, even though the music styles are quite different. Added 'Gunfire' to the list ('Church' was already on it 🙂). We'll check out the studio version of 'Dawn' just to see and know the difference. This band is quite awesome and we look forward to covering them again, hopefully soon. Stay tuned! Thank you once more for taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated! 🙏

This is a video recorded by fancam, so the e.q and balance will not be very good. Even so, you can still hear how good their abilities are. Imagine how amazing their sounds will be under professional recording? Btw, this is a video from 2019, when they were very young, guitarist hal-ca was 16, bassist miyu was 17, and drummer mio was 19. Hal-ca is not only incredible fast, the emotion when she plays is completely Integrating into her guitar, This is what a great guitarist needs to be. The bassist miyu is one of the best bassist I have ever seen. His skills and uniqueness are very impressive. I recommend 《church》 live in studio as the next, this is their different styles of song🤘🏻🔥

This is the reason why I love instrumental music. No musician can hide behind lyrics. They have to tell the story. Although they are so young their music reminds me more of an older kind of rock. But I cannot name an example. The guitar and the bass were unbelievable. I think this might be my favourite Japanese band now.

That's a 7 stringed bass from the ESP custom shop. MIYU will also bust out a 4 or 5 stringed bass, depending on the song. That's his brother MIO on drums. The guitarist is Haruka, known as HAL-CA. She's not related to the other two. I like to say that's because she's from another planet. : ) Check out some of their early songs like 'Blaze', or 'Rising Moon'. There are studio versions. Their next two releases, 'GUERNICA' (2020) and 'GUERNICA + a' (2021) were more progressive. Although they are primarily instrumental, they've done some collaborations with Metal singers, and HL-CA sings on all five tracks of the newest EP, 'ASIDE'. The first full Asterism album 'Ignition' is full of relatively traditional heavy metal including this song. Executed at the highest level. Their next two releases, 'GUERNICA' (2020) and 'GUERNICA + a' (2021) were more progressive. They have also released a Japanese anime / metal cover album titled "Animetic" in 2022. They each chose favorite anime themes to "Asterism-ize". 'unravel', the Tokyo Ghoul theme song is my favorite from that album.

With the talent of these 3, you could equip many bands out there, and they would still have enough left to be better than them. :) Guitarist Haruka (Hal-Ca, her stage name) was 16 years old at the time of this recording, and she got her first guitar for Christmas when she was 10. The two gentlemen Miyu on bass and Mio on drums are brothers and only a few years older. To me, this song here and some of their other ones are the best from the genre I've heard in a long time. They send you on a journey with their songs. As luck would have it, they just released a new MV today, in which you can also hear Haruka's voice for the very first time. This one goes by the name of 'Fiction'. Apart from that, I can also recommend their very first MV to 'Rising Moon' or the track 'Church' (Live In Studio). 🤘🏻✨ _____________________ 「 _Look inside the mirror of you. Can you say now is the best of who you are?_ 」--- *Nemophila* 'RISE' 💮

Even though it's a fancam, this is rightly the version that gets reacted to the most. I have the studio version on CD, and there's a live-in-studio version on their official channel, but this performance is transcendent and I couldn't care less about the quality of the recording. The last three minutes in particular: if this is the soundtrack to Asaf's dystopian film, then the film has a happy ending. Or it was just a nightmare and he's woken up - you nailed it at the end! This time you are right that they are young. All teenagers for this performance, now all in their early twenties. If you want to hear them with vocals, then they released an MV called "Fiction" today, with the guitarist Haruka ("HAL-CA") singing lead and the other two providing backing vocals.

I don't know guys, do you have in Israel or Australia 16/17 year old young musicians who play such 8 minutes long instrumental rock/heavy metal piece and are so capable on the instruments ? Here in Europe there is nothing like that anymore. When I heard the 3 young people for the first time I freaked out with joy. Nowadays there is so much unnecessary singing around, so I can do without it here.🤘👍

@myindieprodentertainment Год назад
I (Itai) have seen some amazing young musicians put together some awesome shows with amazing music over the past 30 years or so (in both Australia and in Israel). There is no doubt that Asterism are exceptional, though. We hear that they are now dabbling in music with vocals, so it will be interesting to see whether the singing is "unnecessary" or not 😉 In fact, I believe the next Asterism song/episode we have planned is for one with singing. Looking forward to finding out what that would sound like! This band is definitely exciting and their potential is through the roof! I guess we'll find out more soon enough. Stay tuned! Thank you so much for taking the time to view and engage. Much appreciated! 🙏
