Why the British is named in Italian and the Italian in named in English?

Aston does what it suppose to do. Be a Grand Tourer. Incredibly fast and agile yet supple. The Ferrari is just a weapon. Definitely more of a driver's car. On regards to exhaust I could lean either way. One is a nice deep and throaty rumble while the other has a incredible high pitched F1-inspired race sound.

You don't drive a Ferrari like an Aston and vica versa. These two cars work with opposite Philosophy. At the end, it is a matter of taste, sporty or luxury.

Aston went for a proper GT, 4 seats meaning weight, torque meaning smoothness and a little less power because not needed! The ferrari is a thinly veiled SuperCar!

Ferrari admits the 812 is a sports car, not a GT. The 812 revs at around 3k at highway speeds, permeating the cabin with that engine noise and the ride is fairly harsh, both of which will wear on you very quickly on a road trip.

Aston is just classy and looks sexy. I would choose the Aston 👍

The sound of the brakes in the 0-60-0 test on the Aston @12:30 was a bit surprising for such an expensive car. It just reminded me of the sound of braking hard on my old push bike, surely there must be a way to reduce it.

The reason the Aston was struggling to brake in good time was because carbon-ceramic brakes need to already be hot to be any effective. Much better for the track since once up to temp they brake much better, but will do poorly when there has been no prior demand for the braking system to get up to temp first. Steel brakes are almost always better for the street because you always want to be able to stop as quickly as possible, and they don't need to get hot first in order to do that. Carbon-ceramics shine on the track because they will withstand higher temperature and won't experience a drop in performance the more than you use them, whereas steels will overheat much quicker and braking performance will decrease the hotter they get. Steels will lead to slower lap times after each lap, whereas the carbon-ceramics will only suffer on the first lap or two whilst they get up to temp and then will perform faultless for the remainder of the track usage.

Who buys a car and floors it from zero every time ....nobody . Who overtakes on a motorway and needs to do 60-90 quickly...quite a few . 0.60 times are pointless for real road driving.

Surely the rear seats should also count for storage as realistically you arent going to sit people there, more just extra luggage

Easy Ferrari win 👍 however, I'd find myself buying a 550 or a 575 HGTC instead. I think it's the best of the old with the best of the new. For whatever reason, the 812 just doesn't quite do it for me, despite that sizzling top end.

As others point out, the AM does what it is supposed to do. It is classified for what it IS (most GTs are not GTs at all IMO). And frankly I really dislike the Ferrari's looks. I would rather tour the countryside or eat up the miles across a continent in the DBS; and I would love looking back at it whenever I stop and get out. I can not say the same for the Superfast. So.... you can have the Ferrari.... want my address to ship me the DBS? ;) Cheers.

motors for seat movements add a ton of weight. I wouldn't let anyone else drive mine anyway so no need to move the seat after the first time!

I think the Aston looks better, it's torquey powertrain is more usable in day to day driving, it's interior is nicer and more comfortable.... And yet, I would choose the Ferrari any day. That Enzo derrived V12 is just magnificent, so musical and beautiful. I had the privilege of riding in one (and cruising on the highway next to one), and anything with that engine, that freely revs to almost 9000, and sounds like a heavenly (or hellish) trumpet.... that's the one to choose

If they only knew how intensive and complex it is to make carbon parts with perfect symmetry that lines up with other carbon parts, the sanding and the polishing not to shave off carbon weaves, AND quality control? You need employees to really LOVE doing carbon work because it is NOT easy and not as fun as you think because you can EASILY mess up a whole carbon piece if like an eighth of an inch of weave is moved or twisted, the whole piece is scrapped. So carbon becomes more of an art showcase. Its a lot of work!

Like any of the old duffers that can afford these are ever going to drive them to the limit! I live in Carmel CA. and see both of these almost everyday and everyone of the drivers is over 70+.

I would take the Aston over the Ferrari. All day everyday. The French are real petrol heads. The Ferrari just looks like any other Ferrari the Aston looks like True English understated class.

I used to be the biggest 812 fanboy however I think the ASTON is just classy and real gentleman's car. The 812 sound (add a Novitec) equals F1 sound !

If you like comfort and prestige you'll prefear a Dbs, but if you like adreanaline and speed you need an 812.

I would take that Aston all day long compared to that Ferrari. It looks way better. And the interior matches the price, the Ferrari is nice, but reminds me of the gloves I wear to shovel snow.

Ferrari is another level both of looks and speed. Aston is just another Aston. Ferrari made it look obsolet or a bit like US muscle car.

The DBS is the probably the perfect car for a cross-country road trip... The Ferrari is too hard core to be a GT... The GTC 4 Lusso is the their true GT

Aston should let you turn off all the driver "assist" gizmos that get in the way of a proper launch.

Great video but wrong conclusion. If you put luggage on the back seats the aston has.....it has waaaaaaay more space and is so much more practical. If you want the added performance beyond what the aston offers then you would choose a different Ferrari anyway that's pure sports car. As a GT.... aston dbs is unbeatable

So testing a 4 seater against a 2 seater? Two completely different customers, a proper GT car should cover long distances in comfort and style arriving at the destination fresh as a daisy, therefore the Aston Martin wins hands down.

The Ferrari is definitely the better supercar; the superior performance and excitement are undeniable. This is especially true if you've still got a soft shot for the dying breed that is front engined supercars. However, considering that the point of a GT is to effortlessly cover enormous distances, the extra comfort (not to mention extra seats) provided by the Aston Martin arguably make it the better Grand Tourer. I also happen to agree with the French regarding it's looks and sound.

I'm not a fan of Ferrari but the only Ferrari that got my attention is the Ferrari Roma as I prefer that kind of look , and this DBS is awesome and sexy looking it's a gentle man's car, that's what Aston Martin is all about, Class!

Manual seats in a 300k car is a deal breaker for me. I mean really how much weight are really saving that's going to make a difference? I'm taking the Aston on looks and sound alone.
