Oh, a nice 'Conan theBarbarian' inspired game. That cyclops brings back memories of the seven voyages of Sinbad-era day - *SUDDENLY XENOMORPHS*. Admittedly, that had some very nice designs.
Between the hooved/horned cyclopes, skeleton warriors with shields, Kali statue, giant scorpion, topless ladies, etc., this game was leaning rather heavily into the Harryhausen bestiary before inexplicably going H.R. Giger for the finale.
I wish more games of this genre had axe wielding protagonists. A small break from the overused sword wielders. A spear wielder would also be great, that's why I love Eric Lecarde in Castlevania Bloodlines!
@@Kankan_Mahadi I wouldn't say "overrated", because swords are really good and very cool. BUT... they are indeed *overused.* There's a plethora of different weapons that could also be made into something legendary, or just the main weapon of a protagonist: an axe, a warhammer, a halbeard, the good ol' spear (unsung champion of the battlefield)... Swords will always be amazing, but we SERIOUSLY need more variety in main weapons.
Bro I played this game when I was a little boy back in 1990 when I 1st came to America I had battled this console's multi game system consoles to try and find this game and I thought it was an impossible task and I just found it dude you just made my decades of search that's so awesome😇😁😁😄 I am so happy right now thank you
Played this a lot at the arcade back in the day, managed to beat it with one credit. Btw, you can kill the wizard quickly if you crouch right next to him and chop at his legs when he fires the lightning.
I didn't know that Astyanax was on arcade too :O great video as usual :) On the other hand, no Cutie on this version xDD, no romance, only ax and man's sweat xDDDD
A word of advice for future adventurers. If WOW has taught me anything, when fighting dragons, never attack the front or rear. Always go for the sides. EDIT-1: Oh, so even demonesses go “Kyaa!” when embarrassed. 😂 EDIT-2: Collapsing castle after defeating the final boss? Forget Ridley Scott, *Dracula’s* going to sue!
this game, like that-one-Ninja-game-whose-name-I-refuse-to-mention; and like Contra, & Super C, Bionic Commando, Rygar, Silkworm, Double Drtagon 2 & P.O.W. (those last 2 at least to me personally), was so much better on its NES version than here on its arcade original! amazing how that used to be back in the day... just sayin'!
People like to scream plagiarism at minor stuff that's mostly homage, but are silent on the most widespread, blatant and exploitative. E.g. normie crap like Batman, superman, witcher, lion king, etc.
