Bless you so much. Love that you were so positive in your videos. I’m pretty certain I have to have the same surgery soon and I’m SO NERVOUS. Mainly because I find out in two days if surgery is a go and because my husband just told me he wants a divorce and is rubbing it in my face that he’s going to be alright while I’m screwed because I makes significantly less than him income wise. So surgery, recovery, divorce and figuring out where I’m going to live or what to do for income because I won’t be Able to work:( I’m overwhelmed. Kinda thinking to push through the pain and wear heel inserts for a while until I can afford to have surgery/recover comfortably without fearing being homeless. But I know deep down I need this surgery... Anyways, I got off topic. Thank you sharing your journey. I can kind of see what I can expect. Cheers!

Hey there friend, Look here, I couldn't stress how much I advise going for surgery regardless of the cost. You would rather deal with a large bill than to have to screw up your recovery process because you did not allow it to heal properly. It's a very hard injury to heal non surgically and will need real proper guidance that youtube videos and website forums will say. The injury and it's recovery process varies by the person so your recovery may be different from mine although same concept. I'm very sorry you have to go through all of this on your own and will pray for you. But please do take it from me, you don't want to take the chances of non surgical without guidance because like my doctor said 4 weeks into failed non surgical route, this can be a different kind of surgery. One that will require removal of tendon from the healthy foot to the unhealthy foot. And scar tissue is to blame for that! All the best, Anthony

Anthony Perez You are totally right! I have a follow up appt next week with my dr. He gave me a steroid shot last week to see if that would improve my pain/inflammation but it’s the same:/ I was venting to my sister who is a nurse and she was like Well the recovery is shorter than a pregnancy so that’s a plus LOL! Another plus is I can play Xbox games during recovery😂 Thanks for your encouraging words. Safe travels!

Thx for this ! I am at week 11 and am walking fairly well. You mentioned swelling - I still have a lot of it and the bumps etc associated with the incision are there too. Hopefully I find a good cream - they say Scar Away is good ? Thx again - really want the swelling to go down !

I used scar away and I believe it helped a lot. Consider 2nd opinion on getting acupuncture if you don’t mind needles. It helped with mine

I am 3 months post-op today and have a very pronounced limp with stiff ankle and heel pain. Maybe I will try acupuncture. Tired of being drained from this injury. Thanks for the vids!

Acupuncture helped more than one thinks. I had bursitis in my shoulder A few years back and acupuncture actually helped bring down swelling. When I did acupuncture in my Achilles it helped a lot too as you can see😊 should Definitely give it a shot.

Hi there. Did you go next to the lighthouse at Cape reinga? From what I can see it looks pretty similar to when I was there, but off camera maybe there are changes I haven't seen. Also A friend of mine asked me how do you keep your phone charged if you are camping? Mine usually only lasts about half a day if I film a lot.

Anthony. I found your video very inspiring and gives me hope for my future. Today is Day 0 of my surgery. I also tore my Achilles playing basketball. I have yet to speak with my Doctor post-surgery. Good thing I have good people around to help me out. I am actually quite surprised that you are back to walking. Can you recommend me the cream that you use for scar reduction?
@aperezvoyages

+Jack Chi hey buddy! Sorry to reply so late. Have been working a bit (on two healthy feet that is haha). I used a Maderma cream bottle and lasted me about 6 months. Applied it every morning and afternoon. And yes, it is a blessing to have good people around you. That's the most important part and I realized that fast. Cheers man! And don't let the emotions bring you down. That's the hardest part, but you will be able to walk again 😊

Hi may I ask how long before you started to function somewhat normal again? I am at 3 months post op ss of 2 days ago. I am only partial weight bearing and not even walking yet. I'm getting super discouraged.
