For sure, its for the better, Sega deserves respect when it comes to products with their name on it! AtGames even if they had a tiny bit of respect at any point... deserve none now!

It's sold in the video game section at Walmart not the toy department, thus marketing it as a true"game" not a junky toy. AtGames / Walmart deserves to take the fall for deceitful advertising , fake reviews and misleading review products.

I could have excused the long history of shoddy emulation. I could have excused the sudden switcharoo from Arcade roms to NES roms due to - as they claimed - technical problems. I could have excused them not publicizing that change ahead of time and them only responding on a per-tweet basis instead of making a public announcement of the change - even if I personally see this as terrible PR at best, and malicious at worst. I could have even excused the misleading packaging - if their narrative was true they could still have had the time to swap out the screenshots and whatnot, but maybe they had the packaging made ahead of time - as well as them not reaching out to previous reviewers to give them a new review unit that represents the final product - maybe their PR firm refused to do that or something, who knows. But paying for good reviews? That can not have any other background than a malicious one. AtGames, I had given you the benefit of the doubt. Much more of it than most other people. I was critical of you on Twitter, but explicitly didn't accuse you of anything. In case there was some behind-the-scenes reason for all of that which forced you to make what looked like bad PR moves. Maybe some licensing issues that weren't discovered or couldn't be resolved gracefully in time, maybe some internal drama. Who knows. I clarified some misleading informations as I saw them on Twitter, even slightly defended you on a few occasions, even if I kept going on about you having to make this change public to keep consumers informed, and that you probably should have made that public ahead of time instead of wasting time with doing damage control now after the fact. But paid reviews are something that I can neither tolerate, nor excuse. You are dead to me, AtGames. May your products claim a permanent spot in the nearest landfill.
yeah amazon does a similar thing and its difficult to get in that program. You have to spend tons of money in order to get invited because its based off of you posting legit negative and positive reviews. The products sent out from those are typically available to consumers already and not a month before release. And also dont typically involve winning prizes. These posts seem to be guided from another Review Marketing company not involved with Wal-Mart as those reviews dont say "hey im writing this for a contest!" Lol.
Because soccer moms don't frequent second hand stores. They go to Wal-Mart and only see these new shiny things that are cheap and disposable for their kids. So that is how AssGames is still around.

Lol, you can tell the instant pot review is a fake. It's a pressure cooker, not a crock pot. It usually takes under an hour to cook anything. To cook something overnight as the review says would turn anything into mush.
Any stuff atgames has coming up with big companies like Capcom is going to be interesting to see how it pans out. They are in the middle of a PR nightmare right now and I don’t see it being swept under the rug so easily.

The NES roms added to Bandai Flashback runs terrible so I couldn't even imagine them making mini arcades?John has already reviewed the Legends Flashback for $50 and it's bad!$50 can buy almost three games at $20 that play better on the Xbox one or PS4.

Yeah never bought an AtGames product, shady stuff like this is why it’s going to stay that way. I’m ashamed to see 1up Arcade doing this too since I’m buying the Galaga cabinet, but it comes as no surprise. Good to see people calling them out constantly though.
I tried the demo unit at Walmart, Asteroids, and thought it was crappy. Especially since the spinner knob was broken and it felt like a thin partical-board plus you've have to play on your knees.
only way that would happen is to convince John to open his first version and display images of the board. We already have images of the units in stores and know the specs etc from ETAPrime.. Ive a feeling they are identical... But we may never know as I doubt John would open his and share.
Maybe John would lend his unit to one of his tech buddies to do it. Despite all the drama right now, I'm more concerned about documenting any potential differences in hardware revisions. I know John cares about that sort of thing.

Can’t stand influencers or fake reviews!! I critique a few free products per year BUT it has an annotation alongside that it’s part of a genuine review programme. (My Good & Not so good reviews are published)
Even though these reviews are fake as hell don't bag on the Instant Pot, those things are the shit! You are right though, these are pretty scummy practices, I see a lot of reviews like that on Amazon too.

Regarding AtGames?! I've never gone any further than their Atari Flashback or their portable Sega Master System consoles and I'll probably won't go any further...
I say they used old 80s playbook tactics back then u had know choice but go by fancy art work on cartridge boxes time u get home and play it they already sold couple million units made there money but sense we have power of Internet they can't pull that cap anymore
It might be nice to see AtGames actually produce some decent hardware one day, but I don't think it matters, now. They could release a product on a par with the SNES Mini in terms of quality, and most people would still sneer at it for their reputation, not trusting that the device might actually be good. Their reputation predisposes reviewers and buyers to look for the negative aspects of their devices, now, so even if their hardware is as good as Nintendo's, we're all going to nitpick on things like the feel of the controller, the quality of the plastics, some minor imperfections in emulation, or even the scalers and filters they use. They could release a machine that gives me the perfect back massage every day when I come home from work, and I'd still find fault with it, because they've burned us so many times.
Nintendolife has also done a article about this situation.It now says Wal-Mart is out of stock?Somehow the Bandai Flashback has outsold every other Flashback Blast in the store?Only way for ATgames to fix this would be a recall.I don't think another Flashback with arcade roms will replace this unit either.Also on Twitter ATgames needs to unblock everyone it's silenced speaking out about this product.Being realistic about it..I just don't think ATgames gives a shit at this point?

Paid reviews? Would affiliate links be considered a reason to make a product seem better than it is? If so that would explain why John Hancocks reviews of atgames products are better than most. Nothing wrong with affiliate links if you tell your viewers about them up front, unfortunately John Hancock failed to do so.
I figured it out. That are all faked reviews on Walmart. Google alone this „contest“ sentence. And look at swettart76, Google says her name is "Ranee Kwong", the only one with that name. And googling her - what a coincidence - she is the "Senior Manager, Internal Audit @ Walmart eCommerce", see LinkedIn etc. This is all a big pile of garbage. There are dozens of this fake "contest reviews" on their shop. Not only at cheap products, also expensive ones like VR headsets etc. And all of ATGames products have these fake reviews. I think they sell them to make profit and have good listed products, then they sell more. It‘s worse than bad.

Thanks. Yes, it's all very suspicious. If you look to the reviews of a HP 15 Silver Fusion Laptop 15.6'', you can confirm this because there their reviews are marked with "Walmart associate". This is also shady, but letting this out now is worse, it's like letting the reviews look more trustworthy. Hey pixel ...I know I've asked this before but i forgot what video I asked this question on ...I'm thinking of getting the super retrocade because it can run snes games... My question is can it run snes doom top gear 3 mega Man x2 and x3 those games also can it run mame ..it's weird my snes everdrive runs all the donkey Kong games but wont run any region version the games I mentioned before ... I'll probably still buy it but im in a nostalgic mood and wan't to play snes doom again
Ive not tested much for SNES on the retrocade. But yeah the SNES everdrive doesnt play gsu-1 games or sa-1 or cx4 games. The SD2SNES does though. Ill see if i can test some on the super retrocade when i get a chance.

Looking at the different types of products this jwinner guy is reviewing as his part of a “contest”, I don’t think this is AtGames behind this, or at least not only AtGames. Though, at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what they were going for.
If anyone wants to get the definitive Bandai Namco experience then look no further than the Namco Museum Arcade Pac on the Nintendo Switch. AtGames is a mediocre company that has no quality assurance or standards when it comes to their products. Their products are mass produced using the cheapest components found in China and unlike the Nintendo Switch that system can last you for a lifetime meanwhile AtGames Flashback consoles will literally eat away at itself within 6 months and die.
Honestly how many ppl take the time to write reviews??only time Im all in is when a product sucks and I want ppl and the manufacturer to know,I barely write reviews on amazon when asked lol,Ive had manufacturers email me for reviews of stuff I havent even tried out yet,and I let them know that and they get pissed lol
I was so close to buying this after johns review and even ignoring all the other bad reviews was still going to buy it. Despite all the poor quality of products they have put out before i was going to give them one more chance. But this is unacceptable, disappointing, and misleading ( to use civil words ). Hopefully capcom and other companies realize that at games' business practices can hurt their company image and to look past the dollar signs at common sense an find other people to produce their product.
Let be honest, people are greedy. This does not excuse what happened here. I suggest that the gaming community take an aggressive stance against this fraud. Counter the Paid reviews with honest one and call out that some of the reviews of the product are paid for. This thing is a slap in the face and if we do nothing @tgames will take advantage. This practice is not acceptable, and complacency is often misinterpreted as acceptance. Let @tgames know with your money and your voice "This is not acceptable!"
It's a bit of a shame that AtG@mes have gone down this route. While there Genesis (Megadrive) stuff has never been all that, I've always enjoyed their Atari based output and was kinda looking forward to the Flashback 9. It's definately lost ist's shine for me know. Such a shame
