In this video I show my process for making and attaching the bridge. The order of my last couple steps is a little bit unconventional - a lot of people spray a finish before attaching the bridge. I'm going to do a rub on finish so I can wait for that until after my bridge is already on. Here are some links to some helpful bridge related things:

The craftsmanship and attention to detail is really something. I wish you had a video of the guitar being played. As you pointed out, the neck joint is somewhat unique, I am wondering with the lack of a dovetail joint how well the guitar sustains a note?

Great work Adam! That guitar looks awesome & I bet that it will play amazingly well. BTW, I did the same & took my guitar to a luthier friend of mine & let him do the final set up. I hope that you are going to let us hear how it plays.............. :)

Sam Hryszczuk hey thanks Sam I appreciate it! I have moved on to some different stuff in my life and don’t actually have a wood shop right now. I have considered doing a series about renovating an old airstream sometime in the future... we’ll see though. I really appreciate the feedback though, it means a lot to me that people have watched/learned from my videos

Looks awesome!! Looking forward to seeing it finished. How do you like the second sound hole?
@AGuyDoingStuffAdam
@AGuyDoingStuffAdam 6 лет назад
SasquaPlatypus thanks! I used a side soundhole on my first guitar and I liked it a lot! I didn’t do one on this guitar because I was too stressed out at the time I was supposed to be cutting it and figured it’d be better to have one less thing to worry about. I do like having it on the first but I don’t think it makes much of a difference for sound - I just think it looks cool

Total non-guitar person here so go easy, are all guitar bridges glued down? Was it always done this way?
@JMLRecording
@JMLRecording 3 месяца назад
Do you use wood glue or Hyde glue to glue this down?
@germanarturo11

What glue do you use that can hold 160 lb of tension exerted by the cords??? What brand?

Hello, can i ask question? Can i put screw on my guitar bridge? So that it can hold strong .... Is it ok?

Hi Adam my strings are cutting into my bridge from the pegs is that ok thanks
@AGuyDoingStuffAdam
@AGuyDoingStuffAdam 5 лет назад
Rob Edwards I think it’s ok but if I were you I’d take it to a local guitar store and let them look at it. Bridge/nut/saddle stuff is my least sure thing of the whole process as far as being comfortable w minute adjustments and everything

You would be surprised how many "high end" factory guitars leave the factory with a less than optimal neck set and bridge placement... Seems even the pros make mistakes
