I’ve been on two dates this year and I’m already exhausted. Unfortunately time flies so fast to not be out there in the dating scene. Why can’t my future husband just walk to the front door because dating ain’t it.

You are so right! A woman who knows her worth will not settle. Better be happy with yourself than be in a toxic relationship and suffer. It is important to get to know someone in every aspect of life and see what are you dealing with before getting your feelings involved. We all deserve the best and we will get it. Me and my husband got together over 10 years ago. I will say, we were young and our relationship was toxic for the 2nd and 3rd year we were together. We both worked on ourselves and our communication and now we have a very healthy marriage. Sometimes, it’s not all good right away but if you’re committed to loving each other and staying together, it can work out. I’m not giving advice I’m just sharing My experience. Plus, I understand the older we get, the less time we have to deal with dealbreakers.

Imma be honest even when you think you met a match in 5 years a person can and will change whether it is for good or bad. Sometimes if a person is not reaching out it could just be they thinking the same thing you are thinking and sitting by the phone just like you are waiting on you to call. Just let them know how you feel. Just be open and accept some differences bc you are 2 different people. You both at the beginning might have smoking cigarettes in common but in 5 years he could stop but you don't want to but he expects you to quit. You feel he is not the same person you met before..I guess my point is don't be Soo picky but don't settle but don't give up so easy on a person bc people will forever change and evolve and will you be able to love them through it all. Please know there is a difference between Toxic and a person just needing to know and willing to honor the boundries you set for yourself. Relationships is literally work but such a blessing.

I wish I knew about attachment styles before I married. I'm trying to get my single adult daughter to look into this. You would be such an encouragement to her & many other young women.

Girl I’m with you on the dating front. I am newly broken up. I met my ex on a dating app and we were so in love right away. I put in all my time and effort because I was intentionally. I knew my next boyfriend would be my husband… but by going to every relationship like that I missed so many red flags. I still love my ex with all my heart but he had no ambition and no desire to grow up. I’m closer to 40 then I am to 30 and what I look like going driving to my boyfriend’s parents house (when I live by myself). I deserve a man with his life somewhat together. Once I saw he was incapable of growing with me … I had to broke up with him. One of the hardest things I had to do but it had to be done. Right now I’m healing and I’m not in a rush to be with someone new.

Change your mindset.. you will never ever will get your man with this thinking .. no one will get in marriage knowing that will last forever. You know that if it did not work you can divorce. If I know I will be attached to this relationship for the rest of my life with no other choice I would never ever got married when I was 25.. the beauty of building a family that you know it will last even if it will be apart. Having kids from a man that you loved for once and even if you broke up you would not regret that choice that the mind set that you should have when you searching for the partner that you will be sharing your life with.
