@@raffaeleserfilippi456 Yes, it's a perfect first car, because it doesn't have any parking sensors or anything so you have to feel the car, not like all these modern ones that do everything for you, but an actual car. As far as fixing, invest in one that's in good condition and you are set for a long time, i have had mine for 13 years now and there are really no problems, just maintenance.

Bonjour! Thanks for sharing your story, really nice from the old owner to give the car for free! I'll try to tell you in short the story behind my 80 :-). My dad bought the car new back in 1989, after 4 years he sold it to one of his old football buddies. In the following years he lost contact with them. When my dad became seriously ill in 2007, he wanted to see his old football friends one more time. When they came, the told him that one of their sons was still driving in the red 80. My dad sadly past away a few months later and I decided to go and get the car back. So I did, I bought it back in the summer of 2008 and since then I started the big restoration process. I've restored the engine for most off the parts, it has gotten a fresh paint job and most recent it got an all new fresh interior! The moral story is that if my dad would still be alive today, I would have never seen the red 80 again. Therefore the car ofcourse has got some great emotional value to me. ​@@Caronboard Thanks! Oh I'm sorry for your dad, hope's it is not to hard knowing if you had the car, that's due to his ill, and dead after unfortunaly. In the other side, you continue to give live to your father memory with this car, I think it's an other part of the moral! By fresh interior, you mean a lucky found old stock of spare part or deep clean and restoring? And thanx for your insta, I was many time tempted to create an account, but you (finally) push me to do it^^.

Krass auch mit so wenig km. Hab meinen mit 38 tkm bekommen. Aktuell hat er 45 tkm runter.

Außergewöhnlich, so ein geringer Kilometerstand! Meiner hat etwa 250.000 Kilometer auf dem Buckel. Ungefähr, denn der Zähler steht schon seit einigen Jahren still. Aber es sind auf jeden Fall tolle Autos.

@@Caronboard Ja findet man wirklich kaum noch mit so wenig km. Meiner kam nur für die jährliche Urlaubsfahrt zum Einsatz.

Yes, I can imagine that at some point you got fed up. I also had it a couple of times when restoring my 80. And a few times I was on the verge of having it scrapped. But luckily there were no fundamental problems with the engine or the gearbox or anything like that, so I went on with it anyway. But if, for instance, the gearbox had been broken, I would have stopped working on it too.

I'm sorry to hear that she past away... You probally will be having a special connection with the car now, I could imagine. The Audi 80 in the video is my dad's car, which I found back when he past away. Ever since it has a tremendous emotional value to me.

It was build in afterwards in this car. It was a limited option at the time and yes, it is a great car indeed.

Ja, ze hebben allemaal een verzinkte carrosserie, over het algemeen geen spoor van roest te vinden. Redelijke exemplaren voor onder de 2k zijn er eigenlijk niet meer, ze worden steeds schaarser. Misschien in Duitsland kijken?

Tnks! Sure, I’ll make a vid as soon as the wheater allows it :-). It has been restored for about 70-80% (new paint job, new engine parts, new interior etc.) because it was my dads car. He bought the car new back in ‘89, sold it to a friend a few years later and lost contact with him after. When he became ill in 2006 he got in contact again with that friend and we got to learn that his son was still driving that car. When my dad passed away in 2007, I got in contact with the son and got the car back, the rest is history! If you search on IG for derooie89 you can find some pics :-).

Der Schalter steht seit Jahren still bei mir, ich schätze, dass er rund 300.000 Kilometer gefahren ist 😅

@@Caronboard Ich habe schon B 3 mit über 600 tkm auf der Uhr gesehen. Die Tachos bleiben bei denen gerne mal stehen. Kann sogar passieren wenn man den Tageskilometerzähler zurückstellt. Ich habe meinen vor 8 Jahren aus 1. Hand mit belegbaren knapp 38 tkm gekauft.
