Thank you for your well documented video! I also have a Audi A4 B9 that suffers from the same corrosion on the lower rubber spring support. The nasty part is that on of my spring has shifted position and started to touch one of suspension arm.
Thank you for this video Dave - very helpful. I been quoted £946 at Audi to replace both rear lower coil mounts due to corrosion - MOT advisory. Same 2016 B9 Avant but mine is Sport Ultra. 115k miles and I use the tow bar for the bike rack. Am very surprised the aluminium is not treated inside that rubber to prevent the shocking amount of corrosion.
I wouldn’t change or torque that shock bolt either Dave. But I have only recently bought a spring squeezer on your recommendation, brilliant time saver. But I didn’t use it in conjunction with the portapower yet. Everyday is a school day, nice one Dave 👍
@davesterl Thank you for the great video! I want to buy the expander and the squeezer. Could you please share the link of them or the name of them? Thank you!
B9 looks easier than B8 which is an utter pain. These Audi rear spring seats aren’t fit for purpose. As you’ve mentioned, the aluminium insert is exposed to the elements when the rubber deteriorates.
@@999valeri Same spring on both sides 👍🏻 I also changed the dampers when I first did this job. Hard to say if it was needed, but anyways it rides much better now.
