Why do car companies build in trouble like that? As if the regular problems aren’t enough.nice video thanks for showing the craziness of working on vehicles
Thank you Oz. Good job. I appreciate your videos. No need to apologize. You did diagnose it. Very good find and thank you very much for sharing. Have a blessed and safe week.
Just what happen to me this Christmas. Should drive morning and the battery was totally empty. So I went to buy a new battery. When I had connect the battery it took 5 minutes and all of a sudden the cooling fan start. The car had not been started in 14 hours and it was subzero outside. So the motor was of course ice cold. Absolutely no reason for the cooling fan to start. So I first thought it might be the cooling sensor. But nowadays thanks to internet it is able to search like youtube to find ideas. I am pretty sure my car have the same issue with the relay. I will buy a new relay soon as possible and until its changed I remove the cord from the battery so no more surprises (Empty battery) I had many Audis and it is really great cars and when take care of them well they can last long. But this with a fishbowl construction is really a crazy bad invention. Of course it should have a drain hole. I will drill a hole there when I change the relay.
You're a fucking geniuss!!! This says brake server and was missing from my 3.0. New control module fried. Found your video and took the 5am from the garage door opener. Fan immediately came on and overheating returned to normal!!! God bless you. Audi needs to correctly label there shit!! This is not a brake server, its a fan
My fans stay on my ect reads at -40c and I changed the ect sensor twice thinking I got a bad one I have p0118 2006 Audi A4 2.0t quattro I checked voltage and I only get 1.7 volts on both wires going to the ect isnt it suppose to be 5 volts? I traced the wire as far back as I could and found no faults .. the wires were they meet the connector are very hard and broke off when I disconnected the ect sensor I fixed the connector and still the same issue how would I find a short to b+ I have one yellow wire and one green wire on my ect sensor connector also would one wire be ground and one positive or is it one positive then a signal wire ? I have checked both sensors with an ohm meter in hot water than in cold water they seem to work perfect.. we’re does the ect sensor gets its power or ground from the ecm/ecu?? If I don’t have 5 volts can I take 5 volts from another circuit and feed the sensor power? And is there only 1 coolant temp sensor on this car? The b6 had 2 one by the thermostat and one in the back on the b7 I can only find the one on the back of the motor. My temp gauge works in the dash but live data d freeze frame show -40c help
I checked my ecu box but all i saw were 3 prestine relays like brand new, a 404, 614 and 614. All brand new. No water anywhere. Now i have A 2008 audi a4 2.0t convertible car model b7. And the fans turn on at start, but after the engine heats up they never turn on again. The only reason my car is still running is cause its freezing outside. If its not a relay, or a fuse what can it be? My dad says coolant sensor hes a mechanic but the temperature reads fine. And the fact they turn on and then turn off coul it be a faulty wire or fan control motor? Or can it actually be the coolant temp sensor?
i have the same problem but the radiator works fine as the car drives but turns on by it self when the engine is off. i replaced one of the 614 relay and the 404 is brand new. there has been water in the ecu box but i dried it out and is dry of water. have u found a solution? i seen this is 9 months ago. Thanks !
@@rylodzn3040 so the issue with my car was that my coolant flange and sensor were melted. The oil leak from the oil cover gasket was so sever that it melted through my coolant system. All is good now.
@@rylodzn3040 i will say that I've personally replaced my starter twice and this cars starter is very fragile. I've learned the hard way that if the car won't start, don't keep turning it over cause you'll regret it. The first time, it was my breather was broken so i wasn't getting air in my mix, second time it didn't want to start it was my high pressure fuel injector, and third it was my coils were done. 1st and second time i kept turning the engine for hours and destroyed the starters. And their a pain in the rump to replace man, Audis give you little to no space at all to do a lot of needed work. It's annoying.
mine did this for the first time today.. would kick on for like 5 mins, turn off for a few secs and back on for about 20 mins and then went off for good. gonna check this tomorrow n see what it looks like

Yeah you have a few relays there. You didn't say which one. Mine has one on the left you don't have and yours has on the right i don't have... also this is definitely the most common ridiculous problem with this car. Fish bowl for sure
Dude…fuck I’ve been looking and looking for a draw in power from my car and I seen this and checked and my has water but the 40amp fuse is busted..the relays are good..so the corner of my cover is broken right where the 40 amp is I am hoping the water just got on there and popped it..going to get a new one tomorrow
