A couple of issues I've experienced with my A7 which are made worse by the poor after sales service by the supplying dealership - Listers Audi Birmingham Comment Share Like Subscribe Follow me on Instagram @k4byx
2 days after this vid went live I received a call from the dealership with some options to resolve the situation. I'm considering those options and I will update once I have made a decision. 👍🏽
I bought a 30k Audi from same dealer and had the same treatment, they were awful, complained to Audi UK who were useless and said it was between me and Listers, can’t believe they are still the same.
Owner of an Audi A7 55 TFSI here (2019 model). I had the exact same problem with the indicator giving an error at random times when indicating. They did a software update which didn't fix the issue. Second time i brought it in they replaced an electric resistor, stating that it was faulty and was throwing an error when the voltage would be too high or something. It's been fixed for a long while, but it has come back very occasionally, but i've decided to just live with it, since it actually functions fine.
These new Audi a7's(and all new audi's) have a lot, and i mean A LOT!! of technical issues. I know 3 people who own these and they v had exactly the same stuff going wrong with their cars. One of em even sold his a7 after 5 months of being fed up with all the BS. The best way is to check online forums and sites before buying such an expensive car to see if it's actually worth it. I was also in the market for an audi a8 but after checking online and seeing what issues they have i just went for a bmw 745e as daily and after 10k km i never had any issue at all. Wish u best of luck with it mate but honestly, this can be brought in as breach of contract so try to get ur money back and dump that piece of crap back in their showroom.
No challenge at all about what you said. I think what we need to establish here that his Audi dealerhsip has a choice of how they go about it. They have chosen to be dicks about it. Not at all necessary in my view.
I have the exact same car. I’ve had issues with the keys like you. I’ve had all the door locks and control unit replaced. I’ve also had issues with the high beam assist, pre-sense stuff too. They seem to have sorted the issues (touch wood). I’ve also had a NOX sensor fail. There was only 16,000 miles on it and it’s 3 years old. It’s not good enough for a prestige car manufacturer!
I have the same light malfunction issue with my 2019 A7, it only happens when I indicate left, or put the hazards on, it drives me nuts. The car has been in the dealership 3 times already and I am waiting on appointment time for the fourth visit. Same explanation in my local dealership “ the car needs an update… blah blah blah and nothing, once I pick it up the same message comes again. If they find the issue next week, I will let you know.
Think I’d be asking them to take the car back quite honestly, I’d lose confidence in it and worry what next is going to pack up, don’t need those hassles, wasted time, different technicians messing with software, they’ve had enough chances to fix it but seems they can’t. Either way hope it gets resolved soon, cars are for enjoying, few pleasures left in life atm don’t need a car to add stress
I had the same issue with the light 3 times I have to bring the car back to the dealer ship. They did same updates and noe is ok.But is another problem with the cruise control is not working. Once they change the sensor and after 3000km driving problem come back again. To many electrical problems thats going to my nerves.Car in general is super but this mistakes is not nice.Im thinking what should I do with the car.
I have had similar issues with the dealership in Leicester. They only ever responded when they wanted money. Its been 6 days since I emailed. I've heard nothing.
BMW Barons in Bedford are just like that. Seems to be a thing for dealerships. I bought a new M340i and while the sales process was ongoing everything was working just fine. Now that I have the car support from Barons is just piss poor. Having said this you really have my sympathies. I would try handing it back to them if I were you are really bang the drum and escalte to Audi UK.
You're absolutely right there.... I must say the Range Rover I had s few years ago was plagued with issues and Listers Land Rover were completely hopeless at that time. Took me 6 months to reject the car.
I had abysmal service from this dealership but did not buy my A7 from them. They threw my car together after starting to fix a rattle. When Audi UK became involved, the dealership put it back together but did not address the original issue. The car went in again to address the original issue only for their detailing team to remove paint with a pressure washer. I now have another rattle but am fearful of returning the car to the dealership as instructed by Audi UK.
Same experiance with Southend Audi. Brought an approved used audi. Brought from dealer as it was the spec I wanted. The aftersales customer service I've receieved has been extemerly poor. Emails ignored. Calls not returned. Car had a fault on day 2 of ownership (less than 24 hrs after taking delievery) and was not drivable, collected by dealer two days later. Once the car was at the dealership. No updates, had to chase for updates at the end of everyday. Car returned a week later. Didn't receive audi connect code. Had to chase again and again. Finally got an audi connect code, 30 days after taking delievery of the car. Setup myaudi and connect code...and its showing as expired. Should come with 36 months as per the ad for the car. Only now I realise I was never given the new owner slip, so having to wait for V5C before being able to get number plates for a trailer. Sales person claims its all done online. It is but I should have still been given the new owner slip. (I was emailed a copy so I could tax the car.. but not given the slip at handover). I've also had to replace the batteries in the keys.
a7 2019 c8 55tfsi - 80 000km - alternator broke down - doors not opening - keyremote broke -squicky dashboard - airbag sensor errors -camera / laser camera calibration issues / cruise control not working /... etc besides that a beautiful and wonderfull car to own but its like every month or 2 in the garage and cost a hand full of money since they only replace small things under warranty but like the 3500 euro alternator they dont service under warranty...
Looks like the warning system is throwing up error codes. If Audi eliminated these non critical errors from the main dashboard and put them in a file instead. This way Audi can learn and correct the issues just like Tesla does.
My experience was dreadful too! Cupra Born failed to charge as per technical page on the website both on AC and DC. I experienced poor (non existent) product knowledge, no attention to complaints and lawyers claiming English statute law didn’t even apply to their client Listers! Just dreadful. They also changed position on taking the vehicle back and claimed to have put in place a rejection with manufacturer but manufacturer said they never did: they then said they didn’t because it wouldn’t be accepted. Led up garden path they’d sort this out but when EV prices dropped after Tesla price cut they changed position
I have an Audi A3 S-Line 2020 with 5 and half thousand miles only. I bought it from Audi approved and it's been full of issues since I have had it. It started showing rear indicator failed notifications and drive system not available notifications before I took it to my local dealership. They ran diagnostics and said they have updated the software so it should be ok. Came home and rear sensors wouldn't work! Next morning car's battery failed and it wouldn't start at all! It went back to the dealership and they said they found a fault with the steering column not shutting down itself as it should, hence it drained the battery!! They said it's been fixed. BUT, here's the elephant in the room problem; the car requires a new gearbox as I told them it's 2nd gear doesn't feel right, they checked and said, it will need its gearbox replaced!! Seriously like on a 2 year old car with 5500 miles needs a new gearbox. I have rejected the car and definitely not buying another Audi or a German car. Buying a corolla GR Sport, reliable and good with looks etc. Audi is absolutely awful crap. The dealership who I bought from have been adamant to keep the car as it doesn't affect it's service history or I should rather say wouldn't look bad on its service history stating a gearbox replacement. I had serious concerns abut the longevity of the car! Dealership wouldn't reply my emails either and it's just awful! Lesson learnt, never buy a German car!!
I have a 2019 Skoda Superb FL which threw up similar errors regarding lights. Turns out one of the LEDs in the left rear tail light was malfunctioning, after getting the tail light replaced I don't get any more light errors. Have you checked if you have any tail light, cornering light, indicator or headlight which doesn't turn on when you are getting the error?
Hi thanks for your comment. Seems like a VAG issue. I've checked all lights when the error appears and nothing seems out. It does appear to happen when Indicating left though ....hmmm
@@DownShiftThrottle So my left rear tail was working most of the time, except when the error came on every couple of days. It would start working again after a few hours. This issue seemed to throw errors with my cornering lights and high beam assist randomly, but since replacing the entire headlight I haven't had any issues. I was told it was literally just 1 LED which had blown in the tail light unit. Next time you take your car in I would ask them to test the left headlight and tail light units for a faulty LED.
@@DownShiftThrottle is it a cornering light my mum had a similar thing on her golf where when you indicate or go round a bend it shines like a little headlight onto the road to help you see round the corner. Just a shout
Hi there , I don’t have an Audi , I have a 2020 330i , k had the same issue with my remote , I have comfort access and it would not recognize my key . They did several software updates , replaced the fobs and nothing ,it would still do it . So the changed the unit that deals with the remote key and comfort access underneath the dash and the problem was solved for ever .
Thanks for the comment much appreciated. In your case then it appears that a physical part/module seemed to be fault. That is interesting to know. I guess they have a key on order so will see if that resolves the problem otherwise it will need a replacement module.
I think these problems will never be fixed, you have two choices get your money back and wait for a similar car to come up for sale from another dealership or just live with it. If it was me and the amount of money, just ask for it back. Anyway what ever happens good luck
My uncle did the same with his s7. The diesel v6 left him wanting more. Once he had the opportunity to return it Over suspension issues he gave it back and went for a 2020 LCI 530d. Ended up costing 9k more than the s7 😂😂
Interestingly i recently purchased an A7 recently from Audi Finchley Road, very pleased with the car the sales & after care is appalling, lies lies and more lies from as for the 149 point check forget it someone just fills it in I have had many BMW cars X3, 5 & 7 series customer service is slightly better but!!!they are happy to take you money but once taken they start being very forgetful Ive got a feeling that it is how they train the staff- see if you can get away with it🥴 The warning is be careful be very careful with all of them they speak with forked tongue
It seems Audi -Vw POOR after sales policy is common all over europe..67 k euro for an s3 here in Greece, the same issues..3 months later still trying to fix them..overall great car,but its the psycological effect that these little problems create, that makes u feel sad..nobody wants a new car going in and out of the dealership...
Which branch is this? Friend having few issues too audi.. with their a1 clutch issue they blaming customer error on a common fault ifs all over Google. Sorry to hear but yeah its crap all round to b honest after sales service warranty atrocious, nobody need this
Still waiting for Audi to fix the SOS fault on my S3, been over a year now and still waiting. Was promised I would be contacted by end of November, guess what, nothing.
Ah yes...I watched a RU-vid bid on the SOS button on the S3. Apparently the guy rang the SOS and when connected the Audi SOS rep on the other side said that there seems to be an issue with that.
Hello I Live in Toronto. Planning to buy a used 2019 Audi TECHNIK. Approx 40000kms as an average. Is 2019 A7 reliable ? Can i used this for 5 years and put 100k on it without breaking the bank ? Also Does buying extended warranty from the dealership worth it ? This would be my second car - I have a 2018 Honda Civic Touring. I would like to own a luxury car and A7 2019 is i was considering looking at the style . Would really appreciate if anyone could answer my questions in any way guide me to make this decision. Thank You !
These audis seem to have problems with keys and BCM’s. Manufacturers should be held accountable for this. A lot of dealerships just buy these from auctions/part or even straight from manufacturer and the fault is their. Pot luck
Interesting to hear that Audi dealerships are equally as shit everywhere. Never answers on the phone, email or anything. I heard the A7/S7 had many electrical faults and then I saw this video and the comments basically confirming it. However, if there's something I've learned from new cars is that, If there's lots of weird electrical faults, 90% of the time is a faulty battery not providing enough powers to all sensors, controllers etc. Many times it's fixed by replacing the battery. How is it now a few years later?
Thanks for your detailed comment. I traded the A7 in for another A7 a few months after this vid. The newer one is much better though I did have the turbo go on it lol. Check out my A7 vids
@@DownShiftThrottle Well... that's Audi for ya, I guess. I've hade two A5 Sportback's. One 2011 and 2018. The 2011 was in and out of workshops for about 6 months due to various issues before I gave up. Worst thing was "Gearbox Error" and the car going into creep mode time and time again. Very enjoyable when in a single lane tunnel in the middle of the city during rush hour... Audi wanted $15.000 for a new gearbox (issue is a tiny sensor in it), basically the value I paid for the car when buying it. Then I got the 2018 252hk TFSI, got gearbox error on that one as well. That's when I decided that "fuk this! Never again an Audi"... but the A7 looks so daaamn good...
Yeah mate, my Audi A4 was too much headache on electronics and software. And expensive service. I sorted by sale out at 2017. Now I I have a Skoda superb 2019 with almost 3 year is great strong car.Audi is just fucking brand nothing at all.
@@DownShiftThrottle Dont go off thr biased reviews. Drive one it does take time but they are very capable cars. Relaxed cruisers. Only visit dealership once a year for servicing.
I haven't experienced any issues with Sytner Sheffield BMW after care service. They always looked after my vehicles. I would say its literally everywhere, most dealerships don't care.
Is that a bmw key ring on that Audi key fob if so maybe that’s your destiny car again .I never owned an Audi and personally it’s a car that’s never interested me I’ll stick to my bmw good luck with sorting your problems out
@@DownShiftThrottle I bought a 6 month old BMW 330i from Westerly BMW which supposedly had a 100 point check but they got lost after point 1 they are all a disgrace.. claim commission & run tell BMW about it & they refer you back to the useless dealer 😂
Hi mate i can feel your pain and very upset. I have been there many a time. I do like the audi brand but aftercare is shocking, first try to keep keys apart from other car keys they interfere. And no matter how many updates there is serious issue with a body module or water has got in somewhere. Maybe a cracked lens or light somewhere. They get 3 strikes then hand it back. They fob people off .. hope they resolve it.
Dude it’s infuriating for sure but simply put this particular car is just a Lemon and as you are now discovering, you will experience nothing but gremlin after gremlin after gremlin because the car is riddled with them. It’s extremely unfortunate and it’s not your fault and in a way it’s not the dealers fault either because obviously they didn’t build it but they should do the right thing here for the sake of their reputation and good customer relations and buy the car back send it back to the factory and give you back your money.
Don’t be too hard on the stealer staff, they’re used to irate customers biting they’re heads of at the parts counter when they’re charged £200 for a replacement fan belt tensioner for. 15yr ole Audi that’s only worth £900, who’d want to be nice to customers after all that...🤷🏻♂️
Should have brought a volvo lol😉😜, seriously though bro I'd take it back and get rid, ye its a lovely motor but customer service is crap, there arse must get jealous with all the shit there mouths are coming out with.
This is deja vu. I had same problems with my brand new a7 2 years ago. Check out my review on southend audi. (Ash 82) I have had so many audis and have been stung by them more than twice. The whole audi group are poor when it comes to customer service. I went to bmw when I gave back my a7 and just last month I was meant to receive a brand new rs3 which I didn't get and have once again gone back to bmw. I would not even step into any audi dealership ever again. My brand new a7 was a death trap. You where lucky to even get q free meal lol.
Audi is trash. I’m never buying another one. Its good that Audi updated the software for you, I was told they straight up can’t do it for me so my Audi has no rear brake light, rear indicator or reverse lights. Many Lights on the dash for no reason and diagnostic scanners cannot detect the BCM. Cannot pass inspection. So my 17k miles Audi has to sit and rot.
Shame your not up north as I use a JCT600 franchise to maintain my SQ5 who I have found are much better than the Sytner dealer who originally supplied my car. For example Sytner have always overpriced when quoting for a service and also finding work that doesn’t need doing where as JCT600 are much honest and will always price match servicing against my local VAG specialist. Also sounds like you need to escalate to Audi UK if things aren’t going your way.
I have a sq7 with a egr fault when i take it to Audi they rest it and pass the car back 3rd time now I get a software update only everytime Notes to be taken here the cars makes a pop back fire from engine bay which i have video evidence for however Audi tell me that this cant be replicated while they have it in workshop [ive had them see this with a technician before i left it at the dealers] Only advise given wait till the egr complete fails
A7 problems again even with the new generation! as previous a7 owner model 2016 facelift, I got a lot of troubles..from the transmission malfunctions to engine gaskets leak funny thing is that fuel tank door replaced at 55km!! lol do you imagine that fuel door wont open!! plus the mechatronic unit replaced at 60km, engine gaskets + rear struts leaks horrible vehicle, Im happy that I moved to genesis g80 2021!!
Yep, I understand. Can't beat Japanese reliability. I'm on my 2nd A7 have a look at those videos, especially the most recent one where the car died on me lol
@@DownShiftThrottle gonna watch it now, and yes i do agree but this one genesis its korean belong to hyundai..same level with audi when its to comfort ride!
audi group in general are rubbish. you should claim under the consumer rights act and return the car. the car is a dud. an indipendent specialist will probably fix this for a reasonable price but my experience with audi is there is literally no point buying approved used. I bought an approved used car from derby that had no aircon, no problem tried to get it fixed under warranty except they told me its not covered because the error code was present 2 months before I bought it, when it was being prepped, so they knew about it. Seriously car giant are more reputable than audi uk.
Atleast you didn’t buy a Mercedes’, they’re issues make you want to laugh 😂😂 soft close failure; key failures, electronic handbrake issues, gear stalk getting stuck and it just goes on
