Good review 👍 rear wheel drive EVs in wintery conditions is something I'd love to do a review on. With all that instant torque, my feeling is things could get dicey...
You are right Robert. The price increase seems to have become the norm. For what. Cars now are overpriced unless financed which is crazy to have hanging over your head.
when we talk about the boot and size does it matter anymore as we try not to put anything in the boot because I don't want to reduce range...that seems to be dilemma
Same happened with me - ordered Oct 21, was told in May 22 it would then be March 23 at the earliest. Cancelled and got a smaller EV instead. Ridiculous to wait 18 months for a car.
Mark. Great review. Again underlines that electric cars are for the 'middle class', high income people. It is obscenely expensive...all badge and no substance. I ask myself, if this bottom heavy [over 2 tonnes?] ugly SUV was launched with a ICE, surely the motoring press would call it out for what it is. Ugly, big and 'useless'. Never mind the fact no one has the guts to call out battery sourcing and manufacturing. It's a joke. Yes to clean cars but design and produce with checks on battery manufacture, infra-structure, recycling, longevity and indeed something for the average family. Roll on Renault 5 and more from Ford and the like. Electric elitism!
Electric cars are great. Much nicer to drive than family ICE cars. Cars have just become too expensive in general. What until the new VW Tiguan comes out. It will start at 48k and an Rline will be 60k.
It's way too expensive. I'm waiting to see if they reintroduce the 35 etron later in the year at a decent price but it needs to be under 54 grand to even consider it.
The price increase is being blamed on the semiconductor shortage. While there is some truth to it, I think manufacturers are using it as an excuse to extract a greater profit margin from each car. @Nobby when are you going to be driving the ID Buzz in Ireland? A much better looking car than that Audi. Still hideously expensive thought.
